1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 "Ordonne ceci aux Israélites, tu leur diras: Quand vous entrerez dans le pays (de Canaan), voici lepays qui deviendra votre héritage. C'est le pays de Canaan selon ses frontières.	2 “Instruct the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: When you will have entered into the land of Canaan, and it has fallen into your possession by lot, it shall be bound by these limits:
3 La région méridionale de votre domaine s'étendra à partir du désert de Cîn, qui confine à Edom.Votre frontière méridionale commencera du côté de l'orient à l'extrémité de la mer Salée.	3 The southern part shall begin from the wilderness of Sin, which is next to Edom, and it shall have the Sea of Salt as a limit to the east.
4 Puis elle obliquera au sud, vers la montée des Scorpions, passera par Cîn et aboutira au midi àCadès-Barné. Puis elle ira vers Haçar-Addar et passera par Açmôn.	4 It shall circle on the south side along the ascent of the Scorpion, by this way crossing into Senna, and passing through, from the south, as far as Kadesh-barnea, from which its confines shall go out to the town called Adar, and extend even to Azmon.
5 D'Açmôn, la frontière obliquera ensuite vers le Torrent d'Egypte et aboutira à la Mer.	5 And its limits shall go around from Azmon to the Torrent of Egypt, and shall end at the shore of the Great Sea.
6 Vous aurez pour frontière maritime la Grande Mer; cette limite vous servira de frontière àl'occident.	6 Then the western region shall begin from the Great Sea, and the same shall be its end.
7 Et voici votre frontière septentrionale. Vous tracerez une ligne depuis la Grande Mer jusqu'à Hor-la-Montagne,	7 Furthermore, toward the northern region, its limits shall begin from the Great Sea, passing through even to the highest mountain.
8 puis de Hor-la-Montagne vous tracerez une ligne jusqu'à l'Entrée de Hamat, et la frontièreaboutira à Cedad.	8 From there, it limits shall advance into Hamath, as far as the limits of Zedad.
9 Elle ira vers Ziphrôn et aboutira à Haçar-Enân. Elle sera votre frontière septentrionale.	9 And its confines shall go all the way to Ziphron, and to the village of Enan. These shall be the limits on the northern side.
10 Puis vous tracerez votre frontière orientale de Haçar-Enân à Shepham.	10 From there, its limits shall be measured, facing the east side, from the village of Enan as far as Shepham.
11 La frontière descendra de Shepham vers Harbel, à l'orient de Ayîn. Descendant encore elletouchera la rive orientale de la mer de Kinnérèt.	11 And from Shepham, the boundaries shall descend into Riblah, opposite the fountain of Daphnis. From there, the boundaries shall pass through, opposite the east, to the Sea of Chinnereth,
12 La frontière suivra alors le Jourdain pour aboutir à la mer Salée. Tel sera votre pays avec lesfrontières qui en font le tour."	12 and shall extend as far as the Jordan, and, at the furthest extent, shall be enclosed by the Sea of Salt. You shall have this land, with its borders all around.”
13 Moïse ordonna alors ceci aux Israélites: "Voici le pays que vous vous partagerez par le sort, etque Yahvé a prescrit de donner aux neuf tribus et à la demi-tribu.	13 And Moses instructed the sons of Israel, saying: “This shall be the land which you shall possess by lot, and which the Lord has ordered to be given to the nine tribes, and to the half tribe.
14 Car la tribu des fils de Ruben avec ses familles et la tribu des fils de Gad avec ses familles ontdéjà reçu leur héritage; la demi-tribu de Manassé a aussi reçu son héritage.	14 For the tribe of the sons of Ruben, by their families, and the tribe of the sons of Gad, according to the number of their kinships, and also one half of the tribe of Manasseh,
15 Ces deux tribus et la demi-tribu ont reçu leur héritage au-delà du Jourdain de Jéricho, à l'orient,au levant."	15 that is, two and a half tribes, have received their portion across the Jordan, opposite Jericho, toward the eastern side.”
16 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:	16 And the Lord said to Moses:
17 "Voici les noms des hommes qui vous partageront le pays: Eléazar le prêtre et Josué fils de Nûn,	17 “These are the names of the men, who shall divide the land for you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun,
18 et pour chaque tribu vous prendrez un prince pour le partage du pays.	18 and one leader from each tribe,
19 Voici les noms de ces hommes: Pour la tribu de Juda, Caleb, fils de Yephunné;	19 whose names are these: from the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh;
20 pour la tribu des fils de Siméon, Shemuel, fils d'Ammihud;	20 from the tribe of Simeon, Samuel the son of Ammihud;
21 pour la tribu de Benjamin, Elidad, fils de Kislôn;	21 from the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon;
22 pour la tribu des fils de Dan, le prince Buqqi, fils de Yogli;	22 from the tribe of the sons of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli;
23 pour les fils de Joseph, pour la tribu des fils de Manassé, le prince Hanniel, fils d'Ephod;	23 of the sons of Joseph, from the tribe of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod;
24 et pour la tribu des fils d'Ephraïm, le prince Qemuel, fils de Shiphtân;	24 from the tribe of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan;
25 pour la tribu de Zabulon, le prince Eliçaphân, fils de Parnak;	25 from the tribe of Zebulon, Elizaphan the son of Parnach;
26 pour la tribu des fils d'Issachar, le prince Paltiel, fils d'Azzân;	26 from the tribe of Issachar, Paltiel the leader, the son of Azzan;
27 pour la tribu des fils d'Asher, le prince Ahiud, fils de Shelomi;	27 from the tribe of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi;
28 pour la tribu des fils de Nephtali, le prince Pedahel, fils d'Ammihud."	28 from the tribe of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.”
29 Tels sont ceux à qui Yahvé ordonna d'assigner aux Israélites leur part d'héritage en terre deCanaan.	29 These are the ones that the Lord has ordered to divide the land of Canaan to the sons of Israel.
