JERUSALEM	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Parcourez les rues de Jérusalem, regardez donc, renseignez-vous, cherchez sur ses places si vousdécouvrez un homme, un qui pratique le droit, qui recherche la vérité: alors je pardonnerai à cette ville, ditYahvé.	1 Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.
2 Mais s'ils disent: "Par Yahvé vivant", c'est pour un mensonge qu'ils jurent.	2 And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.
3 N'est-ce pas la vérité que tes yeux veulent voir, Yahvé? Tu les as frappés: ils n'ont rien senti. Tu lesas exterminés: ils ont refusé la leçon. Ils ont rendu leur visage plus dur que le roc, ils ont refusé de se convertir.	3 O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.
4 Je me disais: "Ce ne sont que de pauvres gens, ils agissent follement parce qu'ils ne connaissent pasla voie de Yahvé ni le droit de leur Dieu.	4 Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.
5 J'irai donc vers les grands et je leur parlerai, car ils connaissent, eux, la voie de Yahvé et le droit deleur Dieu!" Or eux aussi ont brisé le joug, rompu les liens!	5 I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.
6 Voilà pourquoi le lion de la forêt les attaque, le loup des steppes les dévaste, la panthère est auxaguets devant leurs villes: quiconque en sort est mis en pièces. C'est que leurs crimes sont nombreux, multiplesleurs rébellions.	6 Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.
7 Pourquoi te pardonnerais-je? Tes fils m'ont abandonné, jurant par des dieux qui n'en sont pas. Je lesrassasiais et ils devenaient adultères; ils se précipitaient à la maison de la prostituée.	7 How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.
8 Ce sont des chevaux repus et vagabonds, chacun hennit après la femme du voisin.	8 They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour's wife.
9 Et je ne châtierais pas ces actions, - oracle de Yahvé - d'une nation comme celle-là je ne tirerais pasvengeance?	9 Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
10 Escaladez ses terrasses! Détruisez! Mais ne l'exterminez pas complètement! Arrachez sessarments, car ils n'appartiennent pas à Yahvé!	10 Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the LORD's.
11 Oui, elles m'ont vraiment trahi, la maison d'Israël et la maison de Juda, oracle de Yahvé.	11 For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD.
12 Ils ont renié Yahvé, ils ont dits: "Il n'est pas! Aucun malheur ne nous atteindra, nous ne verrons niépée ni famine!	12 They have belied the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:
13 Quant aux prophètes, ils ne sont que du vent et la parole n'est pas en eux; que leur arrive toutcela!"	13 And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.
14 C'est pourquoi, ainsi parle Yahvé, le Dieu Sabaot: Puisque vous avez parlé ainsi, moi je ferai demes paroles un feu dans ta bouche, et de ce peuple du bois que ce feu dévorera.	14 Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.
15 Moi, j'amènerai sur vous de très loin une nation, maison d'Israël - oracle de Yahvé. C'est unenation durable, c'est une nation très ancienne, une nation dont tu ne sais pas la langue et ne comprends pas cequ'elle dit.	15 Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.
16 Son carquois est un sépulcre béant; c'est une nation de héros.	16 Their quiver is as an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men.
17 Elle dévorera ta moisson et ton pain, elle dévorera tes fils et tes filles, elle dévorera ton petit et tongros bétail, elle dévorera ta vigne et ton figuier; par l'épée, elle viendra à bout de ces villes fortes en lesquelles tumets ta confiance.	17 And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.
18 Pourtant, même en ces jours-là - oracle de Yahvé - je ne vous exterminerai pas complètement.	18 Nevertheless in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.
19 Et quand vous demanderez: "Pourquoi Yahvé, notre Dieu, nous a-t-il fait tout cela?" Tu leurrépondras: "De même que vous m'avez abandonné pour servir en votre pays des dieux étrangers, de même vousservirez des étrangers en un pays qui n'est pas le vôtre."	19 And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.
20 Faites cette annonce dans la maison de Jacob, proclamez-la dans Juda en ces termes:	20 Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,
21 Ecoutez donc ceci, peuple stupide et sans cervelle! Avec leurs yeux ils ne voient rien, avec leursoreilles ils n'entendent rien.	21 Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:
22 Moi, ne me craindrez-vous pas? Oracle - de Yahvé - ne tremblerez-vous pas devant moi qui aiposé le sable pour limite à la mer, barrière éternelle qu'elle ne franchira point: ses flots s'agitent, mais sontimpuissants, ils mugissent, mais ne la franchissent pas.	22 Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?
23 Mais ce peuple possède un coeur dévoyé et rebelle; ils se sont dévoyés et ils s'en sont allés!	23 But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.
24 Ils n'ont pas dit en leur coeur: "Craignons donc Yahvé notre Dieu, qui donne la pluie, celle del'automne et celle du printemps, selon son temps, et qui nous réserve des semaines fixes pour la moisson."	24 Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
25 Vos fautes ont dérangé cet ordre, vos péchés ont écarté de vous ces biens.	25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.
26 Oui, il se trouve en mon peuple des malfaisants, ils guettent comme des oiseleurs à l'affût; ilsposent des pièges et ils attrapent des hommes.	26 For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.
27 Telle une cage pleine d'oiseaux, ainsi leurs maisons sont-elles pleines de rapines; de la sorte ilssont devenus importants et riches,	27 As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.
28 ils sont gras, ils sont reluisants, ils ont même passé la mesure du mal: ils ne respectent pas le droit,le droit des orphelins, pourtant ils réussissent! Ils n'ont pas rendu justice aux indigents,	28 They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.
29 et je ne châtierais pas ces actions - oracle de Yahvé - ou d'une nation comme celle-là je ne tireraispas vengeance?	29 Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
30 Des choses horribles, abominables, se passent dans ce pays:	30 A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;
31 Les prophètes prophétisent le mensonge, les prêtres font du profit. Et mon peuple aime cela! Maisque ferez-vous quand viendra la fin?	31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?
