Lévitique 11

JERUSALEM	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Aaron, et leur dit:	1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,
2 Parlez aux Israélites, dites-leur: Voici, entre tous les animaux terrestres, les bêtes que vouspourrez manger.	2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
3 Tout animal qui a le sabot fourchu, fendu en deux ongles, et qui rumine, vous pourrez le manger.	3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
4 Voici seulement, parmi ceux qui ruminent ou qui ont le sabot fourchu, les espèces que vous nepourrez manger. Vous tiendrez pour impur le chameau parce que, bien que ruminant, il n'a pas le sabot fourchu;	4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
5 vous tiendrez pour impur le daman parce que, bien que ruminant, il n'a pas le sabot fourchu;	5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
6 vous tiendrez pour impur le lièvre parce que, bien que ruminant, il n'a pas le sabot fourchu;	6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
7 vous tiendrez pour impur le porc parce que tout en ayant le sabot fourchu, fendu en deux ongles,il ne rumine pas.	7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
8 Vous ne mangerez pas de leur chair ni ne toucherez à leur cadavre, vous les tiendrez pourimpurs.	8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.
9 Parmi tout ce qui vit dans l'eau, vous pourrez manger ceci. Tout ce qui a nageoires et écailles etvit dans l'eau, mers ou fleuves, vous en pourrez manger.	9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 Mais tout ce qui n'a point nageoires et écailles, dans les mers ou dans les fleuves, entre toutesles bestioles des eaux et tous les êtres vivants qui s'y trouvent, vous les tiendrez pour immondes.	10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 Vous les tiendrez pour immondes, vous n'en mangerez point la chair et vous aurez en dégoûtleurs cadavres.	11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Tout ce qui vit dans l'eau sans avoir nageoires et écailles, vous le tiendrez pour immonde.	12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.
13 Voici, parmi les oiseaux, ceux que vous tiendrez pour immondes; on n'en mangera pas, c'estchose immonde: le vautour-griffon, le gypaète, l'orfraie,	13 And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
14 le milan noir, les différentes espèces de milan rouge,	14 And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;
15 toutes les espèces de corbeau,	15 Every raven after his kind;
16 l'autruche, le chat-huant, la mouette et les différentes espèces d'épervier,	16 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
17 le hibou, le cormoran, la chouette,	17 And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
18 l'ibis, le pélican, le vautour blanc,	18 And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,
19 la cigogne et les différentes espèces de héron, la huppe, la chauve-souris.	19 And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
20 Toutes les bestioles ailées qui marchent sur quatre pattes, vous les tiendrez pour immondes.	20 All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.
21 De toutes ces bestioles ailées qui marchent sur quatre pattes vous ne pourrez manger que celles-ci: celles qui ont des pattes au-dessus de leurs pieds, pour sauter sur le sol.	21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;
22 Voici celles dont vous pourrez manger: les différentes espèces de sauterelles migratrices, desauterelles solham, de sauterelles hargol, de sauterelles hagab.	22 Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.
23 Mais toutes les bestioles ailées à quatre pattes, vous les tiendrez pour immondes.	23 But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.
24 Vous contracterez d'elles une impureté: quiconque touchera leur cadavre sera impur jusqu'ausoir.	24 And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.
25 Quiconque transportera leur cadavre devra nettoyer ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'au soir.	25 And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
26 Quant aux animaux qui ont un sabot, mais non fendu, et qui ne ruminent pas, vous les tiendrezpour impurs, quiconque les touchera sera impur.	26 The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.
27 Ceux des animaux à quatre pattes qui marchent sur la plante des pieds, vous les tiendrez pourimpurs; quiconque touchera leur cadavre sera impur jusqu'au soir,	27 And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.
28 et quiconque transportera leur cadavre devra nettoyer ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'au soir.Vous les tiendrez pour impurs.	28 And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.
29 Voici, parmi les bestioles qui rampent sur terre, celles que vous tiendrez pour impures: la taupe,le rat et les différentes espèces de lézards:	29 These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,
30 gecko, koah, letaah, caméléon et tinchamète.	30 And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.
31 Parmi toutes les bestioles ce sont ces animaux que vous tiendrez pour impurs. Quiconque lestouchera quand ils sont morts sera impur jusqu'au soir.	31 These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.
32 Tout objet sur lequel tombe l'un d'entre eux, une fois mort, en devient impur: tout ustensile debois, vêtement, peau, sac, quelque ustensile que ce soit. On le passera dans l'eau et il restera impur jusqu'au soir;puis il sera pur.	32 And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.
33 Tout vase d'argile dans lequel tombera l'un d'entre eux, vous le briserez; son contenu en estimpur.	33 And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.
34 Toute nourriture dont on mange sera impure, même humectée d'eau; tout breuvage dont on boitsera impur, quel qu'en soit le récipient.	34 Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.
35 Tout ce sur quoi tombe l'un de leurs cadavres sera impur; four et fourneau seront détruits carimpurs ils sont et impurs ils seront pour vous	35 And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.
36 (toutefois sources, citernes, et étendues d'eau resteront pures); quiconque touche à l'un de leurscadavres sera impur.	36 Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.
37 Si l'un de leurs cadavres tombe sur une semence quelconque, elle restera pure,	37 And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.
38 mais si la graine a été humectée d'eau et si un de leurs cadavres tombe dessus, vous la tiendrezpour impure.	38 But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.
39 Si vient à périr un des animaux qui vous servent de nourriture, celui qui en touchera le cadavresera impur jusqu'au soir,	39 And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.
40 celui qui mangera de sa chair morte devra nettoyer ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'au soir,celui qui transportera son cadavre devra nettoyer ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'au soir.	40 And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
41 Toute bestiole qui grouille sur terre est immonde, on n'en mangera pas.	41 And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.
42 Tout ce qui se traîne sur le ventre, tout ce qui marche sur quatre pattes ou plus, bref toutes lesbestioles qui grouillent sur terre, vous n'en mangerez pas car elles sont immondes.	42 Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
43 Ne vous rendez pas vous-mêmes immondes avec toutes ces bestioles grouillantes, ne vouscontaminez pas avec elles et ne soyez pas contaminés par elles.	43 Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.
44 Car c'est moi, Yahvé, qui suis votre Dieu. Vous vous êtes sanctifiés et vous êtes devenus saintscar je suis saint; ne vous rendez donc pas impurs avec toutes ces bestioles qui rampent sur terre.	44 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
45 Oui, c'est moi Yahvé qui vous ai fait monter du pays d'Egypte pour être votre Dieu: vous serezdonc saints parce que je suis saint.	45 For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
46 Telle est la loi concernant les animaux, les oiseaux, tout être vivant qui se meut dans l'eau ettout être qui rampe sur terre.	46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:
47 Elle a pour but de séparer le pur et l'impur, les bêtes que l'on peut manger et celles que l'on nedoit pas manger.	47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.
