Livre d'Isaïe 27

JERUSALEM	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Ce jour-là, Yahvé châtiera avec son épée dure, grande et forte, Léviathan, le serpent fuyard,Léviathan, le serpent tortueux; il tuera le dragon qui habite la mer.	1 That day Yahweh wil punish, with his unyielding sword, massive and strong, Leviathan the fleeingserpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he wil kil that dragon that lives in the sea.
2 Ce jour-là, la vigne magnifique chantez-la!	2 That day, sing of the splendid vineyard!
3 Moi, Yahvé, j'en suis le gardien, de temps en temps, je l'irrigue; pour qu'on ne lui fasse pas de mal,nuit et jour je la garde. --	3 I, Yahweh, am its guardian, from time to time I water it; so that no harm befal it, I guard it night andday.
4 Je n'ai plus de muraille. Qui va me réduire en ronces et en épines? -- Dans la guerre, je la foulerai, jela brûlerai en même temps.	4 -I do not have a wall. Who can reduce me to brambles and thorn-bushes? -I shal make war andtrample on it and at the same time burn it.
5 Ou bien que l'on fasse appel à ma protection, que l'on fasse la paix avec moi, la paix, qu'on la fasseavec moi.	5 Or should they beg for my protection, let them make their peace with me, peace let them make withme.
6 A l'avenir Jacob s'enracinera, Israël bourgeonnera et fleurira, la face du monde se couvrira de récolte.	6 In days to come, Jacob will take root, Israel wil bud and blossom and the surface of the world be onevast harvest.
7 L'a-t-il frappé comme avaient frappé ceux qui le frappaient? A-t-il assassiné comme avaient assassinéses assassins?	7 Has he struck him as he was struck by those who struck him? Has he murdered him as he wasmurdered by those who murdered him?
8 En la chassant, en l'excluant, tu as exercé un jugement, il l'a chassée de son souffle violent, tel le ventd'orient.	8 By expel ing, by excluding him, you have executed a sentence, he has blown him away with a breathas rough as the east wind.
9 Car ainsi sera pardonnée la faute de Jacob, tel sera le fruit qu'il recueillera en renonçant à son péchéquand toutes les pierres de l'autel seront mises en pièces comme des pierres à chaux, quand les Ashéras et lesbrûle-parfums ne seront plus debout.	9 For that is how Jacob's guilt wil be forgiven, such wil be the result of renouncing his sin, when al thealtar-stones have been smashed to pieces like lumps of chalk, when the sacred poles and incense-altars standno longer.
10 Car la ville fortifiée est devenue une solitude, abandonnée, délaissée comme un désert, où les veauxpaissent, où ils se couchent en détruisant les branchages.	10 For the fortified city is abandoned now, deserted, forsaken as a desert where calves browse, wherethey lie down, destroying its branches.
11 Quand sèchent les branches on les brise, des femmes viennent et y mettent le feu. Or ce peuple n'estpas intelligent, aussi son créateur n'aura pas pitié de lui, celui qui l'a modelé ne lui fera pas grâce.	11 When boughs go dry, they get burnt, women come and use them for firewood. Now, this is a peoplethat does not understand, and so its Maker wil not take pity on it, he who formed it wil not show it any mercy.
12 Et il arrivera qu'en ce jour-là, Yahvé fera le battage, depuis le cours du Fleuve jusqu'au torrentd'Egypte, et vous, vous serez glanés un à un, enfants d'Israël.	12 When that day comes, Yahweh wil start his threshing from the course of the River to the Torrent ofEgypt, and you will be gathered one by one, Israelites!
13 Et il arrivera qu'en ce jour-là, on sonnera du grand cor, alors viendront ceux qui se meurent au paysd'Assur, et ceux qui sont bannis au pays d'Egypte, ils adoreront Yahvé sur la montagne sainte, à Jérusalem.	13 When that day comes, the great ram's-horn will be sounded, and those lost in Assyria will come, andthose banished to Egypt, and they wil worship Yahweh on the holy mountain, in Jerusalem.
