JERUSALEM	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Ce jour-là, Yahvé châtiera avec son épée dure, grande et forte, Léviathan, le serpent fuyard,Léviathan, le serpent tortueux; il tuera le dragon qui habite la mer.	1 On that day, The LORD will punish with his sword that is cruel, great, and strong, Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the coiled serpent; and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.
2 Ce jour-là, la vigne magnifique chantez-la!	2 On that day-- The pleasant vineyard, sing about it!
3 Moi, Yahvé, j'en suis le gardien, de temps en temps, je l'irrigue; pour qu'on ne lui fasse pas de mal,nuit et jour je la garde. --	3 I, the LORD, am its keeper, I water it every moment; Lest anyone harm it, night and day I guard it.
4 Je n'ai plus de muraille. Qui va me réduire en ronces et en épines? -- Dans la guerre, je la foulerai, jela brûlerai en même temps.	4 I am not angry, but if I were to find briers and thorns, In battle I should march against them; I should burn them all.
5 Ou bien que l'on fasse appel à ma protection, que l'on fasse la paix avec moi, la paix, qu'on la fasseavec moi.	5 Or shall he cling to me for refuge? He must make peace with me; peace shall he make with me!
6 A l'avenir Jacob s'enracinera, Israël bourgeonnera et fleurira, la face du monde se couvrira de récolte.	6 In days to come Jacob shall take root, Israel shall sprout and blossom, covering all the world with fruit.
7 L'a-t-il frappé comme avaient frappé ceux qui le frappaient? A-t-il assassiné comme avaient assassinéses assassins?	7 Is he to be smitten as his smiter was smitten? or slain as his slayer was slain?
8 En la chassant, en l'excluant, tu as exercé un jugement, il l'a chassée de son souffle violent, tel le ventd'orient.	8 Expunging and expelling, I should strive against them, carrying them off with my cruel wind in time of storm.
9 Car ainsi sera pardonnée la faute de Jacob, tel sera le fruit qu'il recueillera en renonçant à son péchéquand toutes les pierres de l'autel seront mises en pièces comme des pierres à chaux, quand les Ashéras et lesbrûle-parfums ne seront plus debout.	9 This, then, shall be the expiation of Jacob's guilt, this the whole fruit of the removal of his sin: He shall pulverize all the stones of the altars like pieces of chalk; no sacred poles or incense altars shall stand.
10 Car la ville fortifiée est devenue une solitude, abandonnée, délaissée comme un désert, où les veauxpaissent, où ils se couchent en détruisant les branchages.	10 For the fortified city shall be desolate, an abandoned pasture, a forsaken wilderness, where calves shall browse and lie. Its boughs shall be destroyed,
11 Quand sèchent les branches on les brise, des femmes viennent et y mettent le feu. Or ce peuple n'estpas intelligent, aussi son créateur n'aura pas pitié de lui, celui qui l'a modelé ne lui fera pas grâce.	11 its branches shall wither and be broken off, and women shall come to build a fire with them. This is not an understanding people; therefore their maker shall not spare them, nor shall he who formed them have mercy on them.
12 Et il arrivera qu'en ce jour-là, Yahvé fera le battage, depuis le cours du Fleuve jusqu'au torrentd'Egypte, et vous, vous serez glanés un à un, enfants d'Israël.	12 On that day, The LORD shall beat out the grain between the Euphrates and the Wadi of Egypt, and you shall be gleaned one by one, O sons of Israel.
13 Et il arrivera qu'en ce jour-là, on sonnera du grand cor, alors viendront ceux qui se meurent au paysd'Assur, et ceux qui sont bannis au pays d'Egypte, ils adoreront Yahvé sur la montagne sainte, à Jérusalem.	13 On that day, A great trumpet shall blow, and the lost in the land of Assyria and the outcasts in the land of Egypt Shall come and worship the LORD on the holy mountain, in Jerusalem.
