1 Quant aux classes de portiers: Pour les Coréites: Meshélémyahu, fils de Qoré, l'un des filsd'Ebyasaph.1 As regards the orders of the gatekeepers: Of the Korahites there was Meshelemiah son of Kore, oneof the sons of Ebiasaph,
2 Meshélémyahu eut des fils: Zekaryahu le premier, Yediael le second, Zebadyahu letroisième, Yatniel le quatrième,2 and Meshelemiah's sons: Zechariah the first-born, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel thefourth,
3 Elam le cinquième, Yehohanân le sixième, Elyehoénaï le septième.3 Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Elioenai the seventh.
4 Obed-Edom eut des fils: Shemaya l'aîné, Yehozabad le second, Yoah le troisième, Sakar lequatrième, Netanéel le cinquième,4 Obed-Edom's sons were: Shemaiah the first-born, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sacar thefourth, Nethanel the fifth,
5 Ammiel le sixième, Issachar le septième, Péulletaï le huitième; Dieu en effet l'avait béni.5 Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peul ethai the eighth; God had indeed blessed him.
6 A son fils Shemaya naquirent des fils qui eurent autorité sur leurs familles, car ce furent despreux valeureux.6 His son Shemaiah also had sons who wielded authority in their family, because they were men ofoutstanding quality.
7 Fils de Shemaya: Otni, Rephaël, Obed, Elzabad, et ses frères les vaillants Elihu etSemakyahu.7 The sons of Shemaiah were: Othni, Rephael, Obed and Elzabad, whose brothers Elihu andSemachiah were outstanding men.
8 Tous ceux-là étaient fils d'Obed-Edom. Eux, leurs fils et leurs frères eurent dans leur serviceune haute valeur. Pour Obed-Edom, 62.8 Al these were sons of Obed-Edom, who with their sons and brothers were men of standing, wel fittedfor their task. Obed-Edom had sixty-two.
9 Meshélémyahu eut des fils et des frères: dix-huit hommes vaillants.9 Meshelemiah had eighteen outstanding sons and brothers.
10 Hosa, l'un des fils de Merari, eut des fils. Shimri était le premier, car, sans qu'il fût l'aîné,son père l'avait mis en tête.10 Hosah, one of the sons of Merari, had sons: Shimri was the first, for although he was not the first-born his father had made him the chief.
11 Hilqiyya était le second, Tebalyahu le troisième, Zekaryahu le quatrième. Treize en tout,fils et frères de Hosa.11 Hilkiah was the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth: Hosah had thirteen sons andbrothers in al .
12 Ceux-ci eurent leurs classes de portiers. Les chefs de ces preux avaient des chargescorrespondant à celles de leurs frères au service du Temple de Yahvé.12 These orders of gatekeepers, al ocated according to their headmen, had duties, just like theirbrothers, of serving in the house of Yahweh.
13 Pour chaque porte, on tira au sort par famille, qu'elle soit petite ou grande.13 Similarly, they drew lots for each gate, whether their families were large or small.
14 Pour l'est, le sort tomba sur Shélèmyahu, dont le fils Zekaryahu donnait des conseils avisés.On tira les sorts et le nord échut à ce dernier.14 For the eastern one, the lot fel to Shelemiah; and when they drew lots for Zechariah his son, ashrewd counsel or, his lot came out for the north.
15 Obed-Edom eut le sud et ses fils les magasins.15 To Obed-Edom went the south, and to his sons the storehouses.
16 Shuppim et Hosa eurent l'ouest avec la porte du Tronc abattu sur la chaussée supérieure.Règles correspondant aux charges:16 To Shuppim and Hosah went the west with the Gate of the Fel ed Tree-trunk on the upper road. Thecorresponding guards were as fol ows:

26 Ce Shelomit et ses frères furent responsables de tous les trésors des offrandes consacréespar le roi David et par les chefs de familles, à titre d'officiers de milliers, de centaines et de corps26 This Shelomoth and his kinsmen were responsible for al the consecrated treasures dedicated byKing David, by the heads of families, by the commanders of the thousands and hundreds and by thecommanders of the army,
27 (ils les avaient consacrées sur le butin de guerre pour enrichir le Temple de Yahvé),27 who had dedicated a part of the spoils of war to the service of the house of Yahweh,
28 ainsi que de tout ce qu'avait consacré Samuel le voyant, Saül fils de Qish, Abner fils de Neret Joab fils de Ceruya. Tout ce que l'on consacrait fut sous la responsabilité de Shelomit et de ses frères.28 and also for al that Samuel the seer, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner and Joab son of Zeruiahhad dedicated. In fact, whatever was dedicated was the responsibility of Shelomoth and his kinsmen.

31 Pour les Hébronites: Yeriyya le chef. En l'an 40 du règne de David, on fit des recherches surles parentés des familles Hébronites, et l'on trouva parmi eux de vaillants preux à Yazèr, en Galaad.31 Of the Hebronites, Jerijah was the head. 32 Quant aux frères de Yeriyya, 1.700 guerriers chefs de familles, le roi David les nommainspecteurs des Rubénites, des Gadites et de la demi-tribu de Manassé, en toute affaire divine et royale.32 There were twenty-seven hundred outstanding men, heads of families, whom King David put incharge of the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh in al matters pertaining to God and theking.
