JERUSALEM	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Israël partit avec tout ce qu'il possédait. Arrivé à Bersabée, il offrit des sacrifices au Dieu de sonpère Isaac	1 And Israel taking his journey, with all that he had, came to the well of the oath, and killing victims there to the God of his father Isaac,
2 et Dieu dit à Israël dans une vision nocturne: "Jacob! Jacob!" et il répondit: "Me voici."	2 He heard him by a vision in the night calling him, and saying to him: Jacob, Jacob. And he answered him: Lo, here I am.
3 Dieu reprit: "Je suis El, le Dieu de ton père. N'aie pas peur de descendre en Egypte, car là-bas jeferai de toi une grande nation.	3 God said to him: I am the most mighty God of thy father: fear not, go down into Egypt, for I will make a great nation of thee there.
4 C'est moi qui descendrai avec toi en Egypte, c'est moi aussi qui t'en ferai remonter, et Joseph tefermera les yeux."	4 I will go down with thee thither, and will bring thee back again from thence: Joseph also shall put his hands upon thy eyes.
5 Jacob partit de Bersabée, et les fils d'Israël firent monter leur père Jacob, leurs petits enfants etleurs femmes sur les chariots que Pharaon avait envoyés pour le prendre.	5 And Jacob rose up from the well of the oath: and his sons took him up, with their children and wives in the wagons, which Pharao had sent to carry the old man,
6 Ils emmenèrent leurs troupeaux et tout ce qu'ils avaient acquis au pays de Canaan et ils vinrent enEgypte, Jacob et tous ses descendants avec lui:	6 And all that he had in the land of Chanaan, and he came into Egypt with all his seed:
7 ses fils et les fils de ses fils, ses filles et les filles de ses fils, bref tous ses descendants, il lesemmena avec lui en Egypte.	7 His sons, and grandsons, daughters, and all his offspring together.
8 Voici les noms des fils d'Israël qui vinrent en Egypte, Jacob et ses fils. Ruben, l'aîné de Jacob,	8 And these are the names of the children of Israel, that entered into Egypt, he and his children. His firstborn Ruben,
9 et les fils de Ruben: Hénok, Pallu, Heçrôn, Karmi.	9 The sons of Ruben: Henoch and Phallu, and Hesron and Charmi.
10 Les fils de Siméon: Yemuel, Yamîn, Ohad, Yakîn, Cohar et Shaûl, le fils de la Cananéenne.	10 The sons of Simeon: Jamuel and Jamin and Ahod, and Jachin and Sohar, and Saul the son of a woman of Chanaan.
11 Les fils de Lévi: Gershôn, Qehat, Merari.	11 The sons of Levi: Gerson and Caath and Merari.
12 Les fils de Juda: Er, Onân, Shéla, Pérèç et Zérah (mais Er et Onân étaient morts au pays deCanaan), et les fils de Pérèç, Heçrôn et Hamul.	12 The sons of Juda: Her and Onan and Sela and Phares and Zara. And Her and Onan died in the land of Chanaan. And sons were born to Phares: Hesron and Hamul.
13 Les fils d'Issachar: Tola, Puvva, Yashub et Shimrôn.	13 The sons of Issachar: Thola and Phua and Job and Semron.
14 Les fils de Zabulon: Séred, Elôn, Yahléel.	14 The sons of Zabulon: Sared and Elo and Jahelel.
15 Tels sont les fils que Léa avait enfantés à Jacob en Paddân-Aram, en plus sa fille Dina, en tout,fils et filles, 33 personnes.	15 These are the sons of Lia, whom she bore in Mesopotamia of Syria, with Dins his daughter. All the souls of her sons and daughters, thirty-three.

19 Les fils de Rachel, femme de Jacob: Joseph et Benjamin.	19 The sons of Rachel Jacob's wife: Joseph and Benjamin.
20 Joseph eut pour enfants en Egypte Manassé et Ephraïm, nésd'Asnat, fille de Poti-Phéra, prêtred'On.	20 And sons were born to Joseph, in the land of Egypt, whom Aseneth the daughter of Putiphare priest of Heliopolis bore him: Manasses and Ephraim.
21 Les fils de Benjamin: Béla, Béker, Ashbel, Géra, Naamân, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim et Ard.	21 The sons of Benjamin: Bela and Bechor and Asbel and Gera and Naaman and Echi and Ros and Mophim and Ophim and Ared.
22 Tels sont les fils que Rachel enfanta à Jacob, en tout quatorze personnes.	22 These are the sons of Rachel, whom she bore to Jacob: all the souls, fourteen.
23 Les fils de Dan: Hushim.	23 The sons of Dan: Husim.
24 Les fils de Nephtali: Yahçéel, Guni, Yéçer et Shillem.	24 The sons of Nephtali: Jaziel and Guni and Jeser and Sallem.
25 Tels sont les fils de Bilha, donnée par Laban à sa fille Rachel; elle enfanta ceux-là à Jacob, en toutsept personnes.	25 These are the sons of Bala, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter: and these she bore to Jacob: all the souls, seven.
26 Toutes les personnes de la famille de Jacob, issues de lui, qui vinrent en Egypte, sans compter lesfemmes des fils de Jacob, étaient en tout 66.	26 All the souls that went with Jacob into Egypt, and that came out of his thigh, besides his sons' wives, sixty-six.
27 Les fils de Joseph qui lui naquirent en Egypte étaient aunombre de deux. Total des personnes dela famille de Jacob qui vinrent en Egypte: 70.	27 And the sons of Joseph, that were born to him in the land of Egypt, two souls. All the souls of the house of Jacob, that entered into Egypt, were seventy.
28 Israël envoya Juda en avant vers Joseph pour que celui-ci parût devant lui en Goshèn, et ilsarrivèrent à la terre de Goshèn.	28 And he sent Juda before him to Joseph, to tell him; and that he should meet him in Gessen.
29 Joseph fit atteler son char et monta à la rencontre de son père Israël en Goshèn. Dès qu'il parutdevant lui, il se jeta à son cou et pleura longtemps en le tenant embrassé.	29 And when he was come thither, Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet his father, in the same place: and seeing him, he fell upon his neck, and embracing him wept.
30 Israël dit à Joseph: "Pour lors, je puis mourir, après que j'ai vu ton visage et que tu es encorevivant!"	30 And the father said to Joseph: Now shall I die with joy, because I have seen thy face, and leave thee alive.
31 Alors Joseph dit à ses frères et à la famille de son père: "Je vais monter avertir Pharaon et lui dire:Mes frères et la famille de mon père, qui étaient au pays de Canaan, sont arrivés auprès de moi.	31 And Joseph said to his brethren, and to all his father's house: I will go up, and will tell Pharao, and will say to him: My brethren and my father's house, that were in the land of Chanaan, are come to me:
32 Ces gens sont des bergers -- ils se sont occupés de troupeaux-- et ils ont amené leur petit et leurgros bétail et tout ce qui leur appartient.	32 And the men are shepherds, and their occupation is to feed cattle: their flocks and herds, and all they have, they have brought with them.
33 Aussi, lorsque Pharaon vous appellera et vous demandera: Que lest votre métier?	33 And when he shall call you, and shall say: What is your occupation?
34 Vous répondrez: Tes serviteurs se sont occupés de troupeaux depuis leur plus jeune âge jusqu'àmaintenant, nous-mêmes comme déjà nos pères. Ainsi vous pourrez demeurer dans la terre de Goshèn." En effet,les Egyptiens ont tous les bergers en horreur.	34 You shall answer: We thy servants are shepherds, from our infancy until now, both we and our fathers. And this you shall say, that you may dwell in the land of Gessen, because the Egyptians have all shepherds in abomination.
