	1 And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.
2 Lève-toi! Va en Paddân-Aram chez Bétuel, le père de ta mère, et choisis-toi une femme de là-bas,parmi les filles de Laban, le frère de ta mère.	2 Arise, go to Padan-aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother.
3 Qu'El Shaddaï te bénisse, qu'il te fasse fructifier et multiplier pour que tu deviennes une assembléede peuples.	3 And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people;
4 Qu'il t'accorde, ainsi qu'à ta descendance, la bénédiction d'Abraham, pour que tu possèdes le paysdans lequel tu séjournes et que Dieu a donné à Abraham."	4 And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.
5 Isaac congédia Jacob et celui-ci partit en Paddân-Aram chez Laban, fils de Bétuel l'Araméen etfrère de Rébecca, la mère de Jacob et d'Esaü.	5 And Isaac sent away Jacob: and he went to Padan-aram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother.
6 Esaü vit qu'Isaac avait béni Jacob et l'avait envoyé en Paddân-Aram pour y prendre femme, etqu'en le bénissant il lui avait fait ce commandement: "Ne prends pas une femme parmi les filles de Canaan."	6 When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padan-aram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;
7 Et Jacob avait obéi à son père et à sa mère et était parti en Paddân-Aram.	7 And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padan-aram;
8 Esaü comprit que les filles de Canaan étaient mal vues de son père Isaac	8 And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father;
9 et il alla chez Ismaël et prit pour femme -- en plus de celles qu'il avait -- Mahalat, fille d'Ismaël, lefils d'Abraham, et sœur de Nebayot.	9 Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.
10 Jacob quitta Bersabée et partit pour Harân.	10 And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Haran.
11 Il arriva d'aventure en un certain lieu et il y passa la nuit, car le soleil s'était couché. Il prit une despierres du lieu, la mit sous sa tête et dormit en ce lieu.	11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
12 Il eut un songe: Voilà qu'une échelle était dressée sur la terre et que son sommet atteignait le ciel,et des anges de Dieu y montaient et descendaient!	12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
13 Voilà que Yahvé se tenait devant lui et dit: "Je suis Yahvé, le Dieu d'Abraham ton ancêtre et leDieu d'Isaac. La terre sur laquelle tu es couché, je la donne à toi et à ta descendance.	13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
14 Ta descendance deviendra nombreuse comme la poussière du sol, tu déborderas à l'occident et àl'orient, au septentrion et au midi, et tous les clans de la terre se béniront par toi et par ta descendance.	14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15 Je suis avec toi, je te garderai partout où tu iras et te ramènerai en ce pays, car je net'abandonnerai pas tant que je n'aie accompli ce que je t'ai promis."	15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
16 Jacob s'éveilla de son sommeil et dit: "En vérité, Yahvé est en ce lieu et je ne le savais pas!"	16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.
17 Il eut peur et dit: "Que ce lieu est redoutable! Ce n'est rien de moins qu'une maison de Dieu et laporte du ciel!"	17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.
18 Levé de bon matin, il prit la pierre qui lui avait servi de chevet, il la dressa comme une stèle etrépandit de l'huile sur son sommet.	18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.
19 A ce lieu, il donna le nom de Béthel, mais auparavant la ville s'appelait Luz.	19 And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.
20 Jacob fit ce vœu: "Si Dieu est avec moi et me garde en la route où je vais, s'il me donne du pain àmanger et des habits pour me vêtir,	20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
21 si je reviens sain et sauf chez mon père, alors Yahvé sera mon Dieu	21 So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:
22 et cette pierre que j'ai dressée comme une stèle sera une maison de Dieu, et de tout ce que tu medonneras je te payeraifidèlement la dîme."	22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.
