DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 E BILDAD Suhita rispose, e disse:	1 Bildad of Shuah spoke next. He said:
2 Fino a quando non metterete fine a’ ragionamenti? Intendete prima, e poi parleremo insieme.	2 What prevents you others from saying something? Think -- for it is our turn to speak!
3 Perchè siamo noi riputati per bestie? E perchè ci avete voi a schifo?	3 Why do you regard us as animals, considering us no more than brutes?
4 O tu, che laceri l’anima tua nel tuo cruccio, Sarà la terra abbandonata per cagion tua, E saranno le roccie trasportate dal luogo loro?	4 Tear yourself to pieces if you will, but the world, for al your rage, wil not turn to desert, the rocks wilnot shift from their places.
5 Sì, la luce degli empi sarà spenta, E niuna favilla del fuoco loro rilucerà.	5 The light of the wicked must certainly be put out, the lamp that gives him light cease to shine.
6 La luce sarà oscurata nel lor tabernacolo. E la lor lampana sarà spenta intorno a loro.	6 In his tent the light is dimmed, the lamp that shone on him is snuffed.
7 I lor fieri passi saran ristretti, E il lor proprio consiglio li traboccherà abbasso;	7 His vigorous stride loses its power, his own designs falter.
8 Perciocchè essi si gitteranno nel laccio co’ piedi loro, E cammineranno sopra la rete.	8 For into the net his own feet carry him, he walks into the snares.
9 Il laccio prenderà loro il calcagno, Il ladrone farà loro forza e violenza.	9 A spring grips him by the heel, a trap snaps shut, and he is caught.

11 Spaventi li conturberanno d’ogn’intorno, E li faranno fuggire in rotta.	11 Terrors threaten him from al sides following him step by step.

13 Il primogenito della morte divorerà le membra della lor pelle; Divorerà le membra loro.	13 Disease devours his skin, Death's First-Born gnaws his limbs.
14 La lor confidanza sarà divelta dal lor tabernacolo; E ciò li farà camminare al re degli spaventi.	14 He wil be torn from the shelter of his tent, and you wil drag him to the King of Terrors.
15 Abiteranno ne’ lor tabernacoli che non saranno più loro; Ei si spargerà del solfo in su le loro stanze.	15 You can live in the tent, since it is no longer his, and brimstone wil be scattered on his sheepfold.
16 Disotto le lor radici si seccheranno, E disopra i lor rami saranno tagliati.	16 Below, his roots dry out and his branches are blasted above.
17 La lor memoria perirà d’in su la terra, E non avranno nome alcuno sopra le piazze.	17 His memory fades from the land, his name is forgotten in the countryside.
18 Saranno spinti dalla luce nelle tenebre, E saranno cacciati fuor del mondo.	18 Driven from the light into the darkness, he is banished from the world,
19 Non avranno figliuoli, nè nipoti fra il lor popolo, Nè alcuno che sopravviva loro nelle loro abitazioni.	19 without issue or posterity among his own people or a single survivor where he used to live.
20 La posterità stupirà del lor giorno, Come gli antenati ne avranno avuto orrore.	20 His end appals the west and fills the east with terror.
21 Certo tali saranno gli abitacoli de’ perversi, E tal sarà il luogo di coloro che non conoscono Iddio	21 Such indeed is the fate of the places where wickedness dwel s -- the home of everyone who knowsnot God.
