1 Yahveh habló a Moisés en el desierto del Sinaí, en la Tienda del Encuentro, el día primero del mes segundo, el año segundo de la salida de Egipto. Les dijo:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the covenant, on the first day of the second month, in the year after their departure from Egypt, saying:
2 «Haced el censo de toda la comunidad de los israelitas, por clanes y por familias, contando los nombres de todos los varones, uno por uno.	2 “Take a total of the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, by their families and houses, and the names of each one, of whomever is of the male sex,
3 Alistaréis, tú y Aarón, a todos los de veinte años para arriba, a todos los útiles para la guerra, por cuerpos de ejército.	3 from twenty years and above, of all the able-bodied men out of Israel, and you shall number them by their companies, you and Aaron.
4 Os ayudará un hombre por cada tribu, que sea jefe de su familia.	4 And there shall be with you the leaders of the tribes, as well as of the houses, in their kinships,
5 Estos son los nombres de los que os ayudarán: Por Rubén, Elisur, hijo de Sedeur.	5 the names of whom are these: of Ruben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;
6 Por Simeón, Selumiel, hijo de Surisadday.	6 of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;
7 Por Judá, Najsón, hijo de Aminadab.	7 of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;
8 Por Isacar, Natanael, hijo de Suar.	8 of Issachar, Nathanael the son of Zuar;
9 Por Zabulón, Eliab, hijo de Jelón.	9 of Zebulon, Eliab the son of Helon.
10 Por los hijos de José: por Efraím, Elisamá, hijo de Ammihud; por Manasés, Gamaliel, hijo de Pedahsur.	10 And from the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;
11 Por Benjamín, Abidán, hijo de Guideoní.	11 of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;
12 Por Dan, Ajiézer, hijo de Ammisadday.	12 of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;
13 Por Aser, Paguiel, hijo de Okrán.	13 of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran;
14 Por Gad, Elyasaf, hijo de Reuel.	14 of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Reuel;
15 Por Neftalí, Ajirá, hijo de Enán».	15 of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.”
16 Eran éstos afamados en la comunidad, principales de las tribus de sus antepasados, jefes de millar de Israel.	16 These are the very noble leaders of the multitude, by their tribes and kinships, and the heads of the army of Israel.
17 Moisés y Aarón tomaron a aquellos hombres que habían sido designados por sus nombres,	17 Moses and Aaron took these, with all the multitude of the common people,
18 y convocaron a toda la comunidad, el día primero del mes segundo. Fueron afiliados por clanes y familias, anotando uno por uno los nombres de los de veinte años para arriba.	18 and they gathered them together on the first day of the second month, taking a census of them by kinships, and houses, and families, and heads, and the names of each one from twenty years and above,
19 Tal como Yahveh se lo había mandado, les pasó revista Moisés en el desierto del Sinaí.	19 just as the Lord had instructed Moses. And they were numbered in the desert of Sinai.
20 Hecho el recuento de las parentelas de los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel, por clanes y familias, anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones de veinte años para arriba, útiles para la guerra,	20 Of Ruben, the firstborn of Israel, by their generations and families and houses, and the names of each head, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,
21 resultaron los revistados de la tribu de Rubén, 46.500	21 there were forty-six thousand five hundred.
22 Parentelas de los hijos de Simeón, por clanes y familias, anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones de veinte años para arriba, útiles para la guerra:	22 Of the sons of Simeon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names and heads of each one, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,
23 59.300 revistados de la tribu de Simeón.	23 there were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
24 Parentelas de los hijos de Gad, por clanes y familias, anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones de veinte años para arriba, útiles para la guerra:	24 Of the sons of Gad, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,

43 53.400 revistados de la tribu de Neftalí.	43 there were fifty-three thousand four hundred.
44 Estos fueron los revistados por Moisés y Aarón y por los doce principales de Israel, que pertenecían cada uno a una casa paterna.	44 These are the ones who were numbered by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one by the houses of their kinships.
45 Sacado el total de los israelitas de veinte años para arriba, de todos los que había en Israel, útiles para la guerra, revistados por sus casas paternas,	45 And the entire number of the sons of Israel by their houses and families, from twenty years and above, who were able to go forth to war, were
46 resultó el total de revistados: 603.550.	46 six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty men.
47 Pero los levitas, y su tribu paterna, no fueron revistados con ellos.	47 But the Levites in the tribes of their families were not numbered with them.
48 Yahveh habló a Moisés y le dijo:	48 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
49 «No pases revista a la tribu de Leví ni hagas su padrón entre los demás israelitas.	49 “Do not number the tribe of Levi, neither shall you take a total of them with the sons of Israel.
50 Alista tú mismo a los levitas para el servicio de la Morada del Testimonio, de todos sus utensilios y de todo lo que se relaciona con ella. Ellos han de llevar la Morada con todos sus utensilios, estarán al servicio de ella y acamparán en torno a ella.	50 But appoint them over the tabernacle of the testimony, and all its vessels, and whatever pertains to the ceremonies. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles. And they shall be for the ministry, and they shall encamp all around the tabernacle.
51 Cuando haya de trasladarse la Morada, la desmontarán los levitas, y cuando la Morada se detenga, los levitas la montarán. El laico que se acerque, será muerto.	51 When you would depart, the Levites shall take down the tabernacle. When you are to make camp, they shall set it up. Any outsider who will approach it shall be killed.
52 Los israelitas acamparán cada uno en su campamento y bajo su bandera, por cuerpos de ejército.	52 Now the sons of Israel shall make camp, each one by his companies and bands, as well as his army.
53 Pero los levitas acamparán alrededor de la Morada del Testimonio; y así no se desatará la Cólera contra la comunidad de los israelitas. Los levitas se encargarán del ministerio de la Morada del Testimonio.»	53 Moreover, the Levites shall fix their tents all around the tabernacle, lest there be an indignation over the multitude of the sons of Israel. And they shall stand watch as guardians over the tabernacle of the testimony.”
54 Los israelitas lo hicieron tal como se lo había mandado Yahveh a Moisés. Así lo hicieron.	54 Therefore, the sons of Israel acted according to everything that the Lord had instructed Moses.
