| 1 Comme ils approchaient de Jérusalem et de Béthanie, vers la montagne des Oliviers, il envoya deux de ses disciples, | 1 And as they were approaching Jerusalem and Bethania, toward the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, |
| 2 et il leur dit : Allez au village qui est devant vous, et aussitôt que vous y serez entrés, vous trouverez un ânon attaché, sur lequel nul homme ne s'est encore assis ; déliez-le, et amenez-le. | 2 and he said to them: “Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately upon entering there, you will find a colt tied, on which no man has yet sat. Release him and bring him. |
| 3 Et si quelqu'un vous dit : Que faites-vous ? répondez : Le Seigneur en a besoin ; et aussitôt on le laissera amener ici. | 3 And if anyone will say to you: ‘What are you doing?’ Say that the Lord has need of him. And he will immediately send him here.” |
| 4 Etant donc allés, ils trouvèrent l'ânon attaché dehors, devant une porte, entre deux chemins, et ils le délièrent. | 4 And going out, they found the colt tied before the outer gate, at the meeting of two ways. And they untied him. |
| 5 Quelques uns de ceux qui étaient là leur disaient : Que faites-vous ? Pourquoi déliez-vous cet ânon ? | 5 And some of those who were standing there said to them, “What are you doing by releasing the colt?” |
| 6 Ils leur répondirent comme Jésus le leur avait ordonné ; et ils le leur laissèrent emmener. | 6 And they spoke to them just as Jesus had instructed them. And they permitted them. |
| 7 Ils amenèrent à Jésus l'ânon, sur lequel ils mirent leurs vêtements, et il s'assit dessus. | 7 And they led the colt to Jesus. And they placed their garments on it; and he sat upon it. |
| 8 Beaucoup étendirent leurs vêtements sur le chemin ; d'autres coupaient des branches d'arbres, et les jetaient sur le chemin. | 8 Then many spread their garments along the way; but others cut down leafy branches from trees and scattered them on the way. |
| 9 Et ceux qui marchaient devant, et ceux qui suivaient criaient, en disant : Hosanna ! | 9 And those who went ahead, and those who followed, cried out saying: “Hosanna! Blessed is he who has arrived in the name of the Lord. |
| 10 Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur ! Béni soit le règne de notre père David, qui arrive ! Hosanna au plus haut des cieux ! | 10 Blessed is the advent of the kingdom of our father David. Hosanna in the highest!” |
| 11 Jésus entra à Jérusalem dans le temple ; et, après avoir regardé toutes choses, comme il était déjà tard, il s'en alla à Béthanie avec les douze. | 11 And he entered into Jerusalem, into the temple. And having looked around at everything, since it was now the evening hour, he went out to Bethania with the twelve. |
| 12 Le lendemain, comme ils sortaient de Béthanie, il eut faim. | 12 And the next day, as they were departing from Bethania, he was hungry. |
| 13 Et voyant de loin un figuier qui avait des feuilles, il alla voir s'il y trouverait quelque chose ; et, s'en étant approché, il n'y trouva que des feuilles, car ce n'était pas le temps des figues. | 13 And when he had seen a fig tree with leaves in the distance, he went to it, in case he might find something on it. And when he had gone to it, he found nothing but leaves. For it was not the season for figs. |
| 14 Prenant la parole, il lui dit : Que jamais personne ne mange de toi aucun fruit. Et ses disciples l'entendirent. | 14 And in response, he said to it, “From now on and forever, may no one eat fruit from you again!” And his disciples heard this. |
| 15 Ils vinrent ensuite à Jérusalem, et Jésus, étant entré dans le temple, se mit à chasser ceux qui vendaient et qui achetaient dans le temple ; et il renversa les tables des changeurs et les sièges de ceux qui vendaient des colombes. | 15 And they went to Jerusalem. And when he had entered into the temple, he began to cast out the sellers and the buyers in the temple. And he overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the chairs of the vendors of doves. |
| 16 Et il ne permettait pas que personne transportât aucun objet à travers le temple. | 16 And he would not permit anyone to carry goods through the temple. |
| 17 Et il enseignait, en leur disant : N'est-il pas écrit : Ma maison sera appelée une maison de prière pour toutes les nations ? Mais vous, vous en avez fait une caverne de voleurs. | 17 And he taught them, saying: “Is it not written: ‘For my house shall be called the house of prayer for all nations?’ But you have made it into a den of robbers.” |
| 18 Ayant entendu cela, les princes des prêtres et les scribes cherchaient un moyen de le faire mourir ; car ils le craignaient, parce que toute la foule était dans l'admiration au sujet de sa doctrine. | 18 And when the leaders of the priests, and the scribes, had heard this, they sought a means by which they might destroy him. For they feared him, because the entire multitude was in admiration over his doctrine. |
| 19 Quand le soir fut venu, il sortit de la ville. | 19 And when evening had arrived, he departed from the city. |
| 20 Le matin, en passant, ils virent le figuier, desséché jusqu'à la racine. | 20 And when they passed by in the morning, they saw that the fig tree had dried up from the roots. |
| 21 Et Pierre, se ressouvenant, lui dit : Maître, voici que le figuier que vous avez maudit s'est desséché. | 21 And Peter, remembering, said to him, “Master, behold, the fig tree that you cursed has withered.” |
| 22 Jésus, prenant la parole, leur dit : Ayez foi en Dieu. | 22 And in response, Jesus said to them: “Have the faith of God. |
| 23 En vérité, je vous le dis, quiconque dira à cette montagne : Ote-toi de là, et jette-toi dans la mer, s'il n'hésite pas dans son cœur, mais s'il croit que tout ce qu'il aura dit arrivera, il le verra arriver. | 23 Amen I say to you, that whoever will say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and who will not have hesitated in his heart, but will have believed: then whatever he has said be done, it shall be done for him. |
| 24 C'est pourquoi je vous dis : Quoi que ce soit que vous demandiez en priant, croyez que vous le recevrez, et cela vous arrivera. | 24 For this reason, I say to you, all things whatsoever that you ask for when praying: believe that you will receive them, and they will happen for you. |
| 25 Et lorsque vous vous tiendrez debout pour prier, si vous avez quelque chose contre quelqu'un, pardonnez-lui, afin que votre Père qui est dans les cieux vous pardonne aussi vos péchés. | 25 And when you stand to pray, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your sins. |
| 26 Car si vous ne pardonnez pas vous-mêmes, votre Père qui est dans les cieux ne vous pardonnera pas non plus vos péchés. (verset oublié) | 26 But if you will not forgive, neither will your Father, who is in heaven, forgive you your sins.” |
| 27 Ils vinrent de nouveau à Jérusalem. Et comme Jésus se promenait dans le temple, les princes des prêtres, les scribes et les anciens vinrent à lui, | 27 And they went again to Jerusalem. And when he was walking in the temple, the leaders of the priests, and the scribes, and the elders approached him. |
| 28 et lui dirent : Par quelle autorité faites-vous ces choses ? et qui vous a donné le pouvoir de les faire ? | 28 And they said to him: “By what authority do you do these things? And who has given you this authority, so that you would do these things?” |
| 29 Jésus leur répondit : Je vous adresserai, moi aussi, une question ; répondez-moi, et je vous dirai par quelle autorité je fais ces choses. | 29 But in response, Jesus said to them: “I also will ask you one word, and if you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I do these things. |
| 30 Le baptême de Jean était-il du ciel ou des hommes ? Répondez-moi. | 30 The baptism of John: was it from heaven or from men? Answer me.” |
| 31 Mais ils raisonnaient en eux-mêmes, disant : Si nous répondons : Du ciel, il dira : Pourquoi donc n'avez-vous pas cru en lui ? | 31 But they discussed it among themselves, saying: “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’ |
| 32 Si nous disons : Des hommes, nous avons à craindre le peuple ; car tous regardaient Jean comme un vrai prophète. | 32 If we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the people. For they all hold that John was a true prophet.” |
| 33 Ils répondirent donc à Jésus : Nous ne savons. Et Jésus leur répliqua : Moi non plus, je ne vous dirai pas par quelle autorité Je fais ces choses. | 33 And answering, they said to Jesus, “We do not know.” And in response, Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.” |
