| 1 La main du Seigneur fut sur moi, et elle m'emmena dans (par) l'esprit du Seigneur, et elle me laissa au milieu d'un(e) campagne (champ) qui était rempli(e) d'ossements. | 1 The hand of the Lord was set upon me, and he led me away in the Spirit of the Lord, and he released me in the midst of a plain which was full of bones. |
| 2 Elle m'en fit faire le tour ; ils étaient très nombreux à la surface de la terre (du champ), et extrêmement secs. | 2 And he led me around, through them, on every side. Now they were very many upon the face of the plain, and they were exceedingly dry. |
| 3 Alors il me dit : Fils de (d'un) l'homme, penses-tu que ces os puissent revivre (vivront) ? Je répondis : Seigneur Dieu, (c'est) vous (qui) le savez. | 3 And he said to me, “Son of man, do you think that these bones will live?” And I said, “O Lord God, you know.” |
| 4 Et il me dit : Prophétise sur ces os, et dis-leur : Ossements desséchés (arides), écoutez la parole du Seigneur. | 4 And he said to me, “Prophesy about these bones. And you shall say to them: Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! |
| 5 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu à ces os : Voici, je vais introduire un esprit en vous, et vous vivrez. | 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will send spirit into you, and you shall live. |
| 6 Je mettrai sur vous des nerfs, et je ferai croître sur vous des chairs ; j'étendrai de la peau sur vous, et je vous donnerai un esprit, et vous vivrez, et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur. | 6 And I will set sinews upon you, and I will cause flesh to grow over you, and I will extend skin over you. And I will give you spirit, and you shall live. And you shall know that I am the Lord.” |
| 7 Je prophétisai donc comme il me l'avait ordonné, et tandis que je prophétisais, il se fit un bruit, puis un mouvement, et les os s'approchèrent les uns des autres, chacun dans sa jointure. | 7 And I prophesied, just as he had instructed me. But a noise occurred, as I was prophesying, and behold: a commotion. And the bones joined together, each one at its joint. |
| 8 Je regardai, et voici que des nerfs et des chairs se formèrent sur eux, et de la peau s'étendit par-dessus ; mais il n'y avait pas d'esprit en eux. | 8 And I saw, and behold: sinews and flesh rose up over them; and skin was extended over them. But they had no spirit within them. |
| 9 Et il me dit : Prophétise à l'esprit ; prophétise, fils de l'homme, et dis à l'esprit : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Viens des quatre vents, esprit, et souffle sur ces morts, afin qu'ils revivent. | 9 And he said to me: “Prophesy to the spirit! Prophesy, O son of man, and you shall say to the spirit: Thus says the Lord God: Approach, O spirit, from the four winds, and blow across these ones who were slain, and revive them.” |
| 10 Je prophétisai donc comme il me l'avait ordonné, et l'esprit entra en eux, et ils devinrent vivants, et ils se tinrent sur le(ur)s pieds ; c'était une armée extrêmement nombreuse. | 10 And I prophesied, just as he had instructed me. And spirit entered into them, and they lived. And they stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army. |
| 11 Et il me dit : Fils de (d'un) l'homme, tous ces os sont les enfants d'Israël. Ils disent : Nos os se sont desséchés, notre espérance a péri, et nous sommes retranchés du nombre des hommes. | 11 And he said to me: “Son of man: All these bones are the house of Israel. They say: ‘Our bones are dried out, and our hope has perished, and we have been cut off.’ |
| 12 Prophétise donc, et dis-leur : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Voici, je vais ouvrir vos tombeaux, et je vous ferai sortir de vos sépulcres, ô mon peuple, et je vous amènerai dans la terre d'Israël. | 12 Because of this, prophesy, and you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your tombs, and I will lead you away from your sepulchers, O my people. And I will lead you into the land of Israel. |
| 13 Et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur, lorsque j'aurai ouvert vos sépulcres, que je vous aurai fait sortir de vos tombeaux, ô mon peuple, | 13 And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I will have opened your sepulchers, and when I will have led you away from your tombs, O my people. |
| 14 et que j'aurai mis mon esprit en vous, et que vous vivrez, et que je vous aurai placés en repos sur votre terre : et vous saurez que moi, le Seigneur, j'ai parlé et j'ai exécuté, dit le Seigneur Dieu. | 14 And I will place my Spirit within you, and you shall live. And I will cause you to rest upon your own soil. And you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and acted, says the Lord God.” |
| 15 (Et) La parole du Seigneur me fut adressée en ces termes : | 15 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: |
| 16 Et toi, fils de (d'un) l'homme, prends un morceau de bois, et écris dessus : Pour (C'est le bois de) Juda, et pour les enfants d'Israël qui lui sont associés. Prends encore un autre morceau de bois, et écris dessus : Pour Joseph, (pour le) bois d'Ephraïm, et de toute la maison d'Israël, et de ceux qui lui sont associés. | 16 “And as for you, son of man, take up a piece of wood for yourself, and write upon it: ‘For Judah, and for the sons of Israel, his companions.’ And take up another piece of wood, and write upon it: ‘For Joseph, the wood of Ephraim, and for the entire house of Israel, and for his companions.’ |
| 17 Puis joins-les l'un à l'autre en un seul morceau, et ils seront unis dans ta main. | 17 And join these, one to the other, for yourself, as one piece of wood. And they will be united in your hand. |
| 18 Et lorsque les enfants de ton peuple te tiendront ce langage : Ne nous indiqueras-tu (indiquerez-vous) pas ce que cela signifie ? | 18 Then, when the sons of your people will speak to you, saying: ‘Will you not tell us what you intend by this?’ |
| 19 tu leur diras : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Voici, je prendrai le bois de Joseph qui est dans la main d'Ephraïm, et les tribus d'Israël qui lui sont associées, et je le joindrai avec le bois de Juda, et j'en ferai un seul bois, et ils seront un seul bois dans sa main. | 19 you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take up the wood of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, which are joined to him, and I will put them together with the wood of Judah, and I will make them one piece of wood. And they will be one in his hand. |
| 20 Les morceaux de bois sur lesquels tu auras écrit seront dans ta main, sous leurs yeux ; et tu leur diras : | 20 Then the pieces of wood, on which you have written, will be in your hand, before their eyes. |
| 21 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Voici, je prendrai les enfants d'Israël du milieu des nations où ils sont allés, je les rassemblerai de toutes parts, et je les ramènerai dans leur pays ; | 21 And you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take up the sons of Israel, from the midst of the nations to which they have gone, and I will gather them together on every side, and I will lead them onto their own soil. |
| 22 et je ferai d'eux une seule nation dans le(ur) pays, sur les montagnes d'Israël, et un seul roi les commandera tous, et ils ne formeront pas désormais deux peuples, et ils ne seront plus divisés en deux royaumes. | 22 And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will be ruler over all. And they will no longer be two nations, nor will they be divided any more into two kingdoms. |
| 23 Ils ne se souilleront plus à l'avenir par leurs idoles, par leurs abominations, et par toutes leurs iniquités ; je les sauverai (en les retirant) de tous les lieux où ils ont péché, et je les purifierai ; et ils seront mon peuple, et je serai leur Dieu. | 23 And they will no longer be defiled by their idols, and by their abominations, and by all their iniquities. And I will save them, out of all the settlements in which they have sinned, and I will cleanse them. And they will be my people, and I will be their God. |
| 24 Mon serviteur David régnera sur eux, et il y aura un seul pasteur pour eux tous ; ils marcheront dans la voie de mes ordonnances ; ils garderont mes commandements et ils les pratiqueront. | 24 And my servant David shall be the king over them, and they shall have one shepherd. They shall walk in my judgments, and they shall keep my commandments, and they shall do them. |
| 25 Ils habiteront sur la terre que j'ai donnée à mon serviteur Jacob, et où vos pères ont habité ; ils y habiteront, eux et leurs enfants, et les enfants de leurs enfants à perpétuité, et mon serviteur David sera leur prince à jamais. | 25 And they shall live upon the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, in which your fathers lived. And they shall live upon it, they and their sons, and the sons of their sons, even for all time. And David, my servant, shall be their leader, in perpetuity. |
| 26 Je ferai avec eux une alliance de paix ; il y aura une alliance éternelle avec eux ; je les établirai solidement, je les multiplierai, et je placerai mon sanctuaire au milieu d'eux pour toujours. | 26 And I will strike a covenant of peace with them. This will be an everlasting covenant for them. And I will establish them, and multiply them. And I will set my sanctuary in their midst, unceasingly. |
| 27 Mon tabernacle sera parmi eux ; je serai leur Dieu, et ils seront mon peuple. | 27 And my tabernacle shall be among them. And I will be their God, and they will be my people. |
| 28 Et les nations sauront que je suis le Seigneur, le sanctificateur d'Israël, lorsque mon sanctuaire sera au milieu d'eux pour toujours. | 28 And the Gentiles shall know that I am the Lord, the Sanctifier of Israel, when my sanctuary will be in their midst, forever.” |
