| 1 A cause de Sion je ne me tairai pas, et à cause de Jérusalem je ne prendrai pas de repos, jusqu'à ce que son juste paraisse comme une vive (éclatante) lumière, et son sauveur comme une lampe allumée (un flambeau, répande sa clarté). | 1 For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. |
| 2 Les nations verront ton juste, et tous les rois ton prince (roi) illustre, et on t'appellera d'un nom nouveau, que la bouche du Seigneur désignera. | 2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name. |
| 3 Tu seras une couronne de gloire dans la main du Seigneur, et un diadème royal dans la main de ton Dieu. | 3 Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. |
| 4 On ne t'appellera plus Délaissée, et ta terre ne sera plus appelée Désolée ; mais tu seras appelée : Ma volonté est en elle, et ta terre : Habitée, car le Seigneur a mis son plaisir en toi, et ta terre sera habitée. | 4 Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzi-bah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. |
| 5 Car le jeune homme habitera avec la vierge, et tes enfants habiteront en toi ; l'époux trouvera sa joie dans son épouse, et ton Dieu se réjouira en toi. | 5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee. |
| 6 Sur tes murs, Jérusalem, j'ai placé des gardes ; ils ne se tairont jamais, ni le jour ni la nuit. Vous qui vous souvenez du Seigneur, ne vous taisez pas, | 6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, |
| 7 et ne lui donnez pas de repos (gardez pas le silence envers lui), jusqu'à ce qu'il affermisse Jérusalem, et qu'il la rende glorieuse (un objet de louange) sur la terre. | 7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth. |
| 8 Le Seigneur a juré par sa droite, et par son bras puissant (fort) : Je ne donnerai plus (Si je donne encore) ton blé pour nourriture à tes ennemis, et (si) les fils des étrangers ne boiront plus ton (boivent le) vin, produit de ton travail. | 8 The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured: |
| 9 Mais ceux qui auront recueilli le blé le mangeront, et loueront le Seigneur, et ceux qui auront récolté (transportent) le vin le boiront dans mes saints parvis (sacrés). | 9 But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness. |
| 10 Franchissez, franchissez les portes, préparez la voie au (à mon) peuple, aplanissez le chemin, ôtez(-en) les pierres, élevez l'étendard pour les peuples. | 10 Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people. |
| 11 Voici ce que le Seigneur a fait entendre aux extrémités de la terre : Dites à la fille de Sion : Ton sauveur vient, il porte avec lui sa récompense et son salaire (œuvre) le précède. | 11 Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. |
| 12 Et on les appellera Peuple saint, rachetés du Seigneur ; et toi, on t'appellera Ville recherchée, (et) non délaissée. | 12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken. |
