| 1 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur à mon christ Cyrus, que j'ai pris par la main (droite) pour lui assujettir (devant sa face) les nations, pour mettre les rois en fuite, pour ouvrir devant lui les portes (de ses villes) sans qu'aucune lui soit fermée : | 1 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; |
| 2 J'irai devant toi (lui), et j'humilierai les grands (glorieux) de la terre ; je romprai les portes d'airain, et je briserai les gonds (barres) de fer ; | 2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: |
| 3 et je te donnerai des trésors cachés et des richesses enfouies dans le (des lieux souterrains et) secret(s), afin que tu saches que je suis le Seigneur, qui t'ai appelé par (appelle) ton nom, le Dieu d'Israël ; | 3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel. |
| 4 à cause de Jacob mon serviteur, et d'Israël mon élu, je t'ai appelé par ton nom ; j'ai tracé ton portrait (je t'ai assimilé à mon christ), et tu ne m'as pas connu. | 4 For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me. |
| 5 Je suis le Seigneur, et il n'y en a pas d'autre ; hors de moi il n'y a pas de Dieu. Je t'ai ceint, et tu ne m'as pas connu ; | 5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: |
| 6 afin que l'on sache, du lever du soleil au couchant, qu'il n'y a pas de Dieu hors de moi. Je suis le Seigneur, et il n'y en a pas d'autre. | 6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. |
| 7 Je forme la lumière et je crée les ténèbres, je fais la paix et je crée les maux : Je suis le Seigneur qui fais toutes ces choses. | 7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. |
| 8 Cieux, répandez d'en haut votre rosée, et que les nuées fassent pleuvoir le (un) juste ; que la terre s'ouvre, et qu'elle germe le (un) sauveur, et que la justice naisse en même temps. Moi, le Seigneur, je l'ai créé. | 8 Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it. |
| 9 Malheur à celui qui dispute contre son créateur, lui qui n'est qu'un tesson d'argile et de terre. L'argile dit-elle au potier : Que fais-tu ? Ton ouvrage n'est pas d'une main habile (est sans mains, note). | 9 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? |
| 10 Malheur à celui qui dit à son (un) père : Pourquoi engendres-tu ? et à sa mère (une femme) : Pourquoi enfantes-tu ? | 10 Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth? |
| 11 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, le saint d'Israël, et celui qui l'a formé : Interrogez-moi sur l'avenir ; (donnez-moi des ordres) au sujet de (sur) mes fils et de l'œuvre de mes mains. | 11 Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. |
| 12 C'est moi qui ai fait la terre, et qui ai créé l'homme sur elle ; mes mains ont étendu les cieux, et j'ai imposé des lois à toute leur milice. | 12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. |
| 13 C'est moi qui l'ai suscité pour la justice, et qui aplanirai (dirigerai) toutes ses voies ; il rebâtira ma ville, et libérera mes captifs, sans rançon ni présents, dit le Seigneur, le Dieu des armées. | 13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts. |
| 14 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur : Le travail de l'Egypte, le trafic de l'Ethiopie, et les Sabéens (, hommes) à la taille élevée passeront chez toi, et ils seront à toi ; ils marcheront à ta suite, ils viendront les fers aux mains, ils se prosterneront devant toi, et ils te supplieront en disant : Il n'y a de Dieu que chez toi (vous), et hors de toi (vous) il n'y a pas de Dieu. | 14 Thus saith the LORD, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God. |
| 15 Vous êtes vraiment un Dieu caché, le Dieu d'Israël, le (un) sauveur. | 15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour. |
| 16 Ils ont été confondus, ils rougissent tous de honte, et ils sont tous couverts de confusion, les fabricants d'erreurs. | 16 They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols. |
| 17 Israël a reçu du Seigneur un salut éternel ; vous ne serez pas confondus, et vous ne rougirez pas de honte dans les siècles des siècles. | 17 But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end. |
| 18 Car voici ce que dit le Seigneur qui a créé les cieux, le Dieu (même) qui a formé la terre et qui l'a faite, qui l'a façonnée et qui ne l'a pas créée en vain, mais qui l'a formée pour qu'elle fût habitée : Je suis le Seigneur, et il n'y en a pas d'autre. | 18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. |
| 19 Je n'ai pas parlé en cachette, dans un lieu ténébreux de la terre ; je n'ai pas dit en vain à la race de Jacob : Recherchez-moi ; je suis le Seigneur qui profère la justice et qui annonce la droiture. | 19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right. |
| 20 Rassemblez-vous et venez ; approchez-vous ensemble, vous qui avez été sauvés des nations ; ils sont dans l'ignorance ceux qui portent un bois sculpté par eux, et qui prient un dieu qui ne peut sauver. | 20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save. |
| 21 Enseignez-les et venez, et délibérez ensemble. Qui a annoncé ces choses dès le commencement ? qui les a prédites depuis longtemps ? N'est-ce pas moi, le Seigneur, et y a-t-il d'autre Dieu que moi ? Je suis le (un) Dieu juste, et personne ne sauve si ce n'est moi. | 21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. |
| 22 Convertissez-vous à moi, et vous serez sauvés, peuples de toute la terre, car je suis Dieu, et il n'y en a pas d'autre. | 22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. |
| 23 J'ai juré par moi-même ; une parole de justice est sortie de ma bouche, et elle ne sera pas révoquée (ne reviendra pas, note) : | 23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. |
| 24 Tout genou fléchira devant moi, et toute langue jurera par mon nom. | 24 Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. |
| 25 Et l'on dira : Ma justice et ma force résident dans le Seigneur ; à (vers) lui viendront, pour être confondus, tous ceux qui s'opposaient à lui. | 25 In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory. |
| 26 Par (Dans) le Seigneur sera justifiée et glorifiée toute la race (postérité) d'Israël. | |
