1 (Or) Voici les prêtres et les Lévites qui revinrent avec Zorobabel, fils de Salathiel, et avec Josué : Saraïa, Jérémie, Esdras,	1 Now these are the priests and the Levites who ascended with Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,
2 Amarias, Melluch, Hattus,	2 Amariah, Malluch, Hattush,
3 Sébénias, Rhéum, Mérimuth,	3 Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth,
4 Addo, Genthon, Abia,	4 Iddo, Ginnethon, Abijah,
5 Miamin, Madia, Belga,	5 Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,
6 Séméia et Joïarib, Idaïa, Sellum, Amoc, Helcias,	6 Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah, Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah.
7 Idaïa. C'était là les chefs (princes) des prêtres et leurs frères du temps de Josué.	7 These were the leaders of the priests and of their brothers, in the days of Jeshua.
8 Lévites : Jésua, Bennui, Cedmihel, Sarébia, Juda, Mathanias, qui présidaient avec leurs frères aux saints cantiques (hymnes) ;	8 And the Levites, Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, Mattaniah, they and their brothers were over the hymns,
9 et Becbécia, et Hanni, qui, avec leurs frères, étaient appliqués chacun à leur emploi.	9 with Bakbukiah, as well as Hannai, and their brothers, each one in his office.
10 Or Josué engendra Joacim ; Joacim engendra Eliasib ; Eliasib engendra Joïada ;	10 Now Jeshua conceived Joiakim, and Joiakim conceived Eliashib, and Eliashib conceived Joiada,
11 Joïada engendra Jonathan, et Jonathan engendra Jeddoa.	11 and Joiada conceived Jonathan, and Jonathan conceived Jaddua.
12 Voici, du temps de Joacim, les prêtres et les chefs (princes) de familles : pour Saraïa, Maraïa ; pour Jérémie, Hananias ;	12 And in the days of Joiakim, the priests and the leaders of the families were: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;
13 pour Esdras, Mosollam ; pour Amarias, Johanan ;	13 of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;
14 pour Milicho, Jonathan ; pour Sébénias, Joseph ;	14 of Maluchi, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph;
15 pour Haram, Edna ; pour Maraïoth, Helci ;	15 of Harim, Adna; of Meraioth, Helkai;
16 pour Adaïa, Zacharie ; pour Genthon, Mosollam ;	16 of Adaiah, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam;

22 Quant aux Lévites du temps d'Eliasib, de Joïada, de Johanan et de Jeddoa, les chefs (princes) de familles et les prêtres furent inscrits sous le règne de Darius, roi de (le) Perse.	22 The Levites, in the days of Eliashib, and Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, and the priests, were written according to the leaders of the families, during the reign of Darius the Persian.
23 Les fils de Lévi, chefs (princes) de familles, furent inscrits dans le Livre les annales (actions des jours), jusqu'à l'époque de Jonathan, fils d'Eliasib.	23 The sons of Levi, according to the leaders of the families, were written in the book of the words of those days, even to the days of Johanan, the son of Eliashib.
24 Or les chefs des Lévites étaient Hasébia, Sérébia et Josué, fils de Cedmihel ; et leurs frères, devaient, chacun en leur rang, louer et célébrer le Seigneur selon l'ordre de David, homme de Dieu, et observer également, chacun à son tour, les devoirs de leur ministère.	24 Now the leaders of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua, the son of Kadmiel, and their brothers, in their turns, so that they would praise and confess, according to the precept of David, the man of God. And they served equally and in order.
25 Mathania, Becbécia, Obédia, Mosollam, Telmon, Accub, étaient les gardes des portes et des vestibules devant les portes.	25 Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were keepers of the gates and of the vestibules before the gates.
26 Ceux-là vivaient au temps de Joacim, fils de Josué, fils de Josédec, (de Néhémias le chef,) et d'Esdras, prêtre et scribe.	26 These were in the days of Joiakim, the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah, the governor, and of Ezra, the priest and scribe.
27 Lors de la dédicace du mur de Jérusalem, on rechercha les Lévites dans toutes leurs résidences pour les faire venir à Jérusalem, afin qu'ils fissent cette dédicace avec joie et action de grâces, en chantant des cantiques, et au son des cymbales, des lyres (psaltérions) et des harpes.	27 Now at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites from all their places, so that they might bring them to Jerusalem, and so that they might keep the dedication, and rejoice with thanksgiving, and with singing, and with cymbals, psalteries, and lyres.
28 Les fils des chantres s'assemblèrent donc de la campagne des environs de Jérusalem et des villages de Néthuphati,	28 Now the sons of the singing men were gathered from the plains surrounding Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophati,
29 et de la maison de Galgal, et des districts de Géba et d'Azmaveth ; car les chantres s'étaient bâti des villages tout autour de Jérusalem.	29 and from the house of Gilgal, and from the regions of Geba and Azmaveth. For the singing men had built villages for themselves around Jerusalem.
30 Et les prêtres se purifièrent avec les Lévites ; puis ils purifièrent le peuple, les portes et la muraille.	30 And the priests and the Levites were cleansed, and they cleansed the people, and the gates, and the wall.
31 Je fis monter les princes de Juda sur la muraille, et j'établis deux grands chœurs qui chantaient les louanges du Seigneur. Ils marchèrent à main droite sur le mur, vers la porte du fumier.	31 Then I caused the leaders of Judah to ascend the wall, and I appointed two great choirs to give praise. And they went to the right upon the wall, toward the dung gate.
32 Derrière eux marchait Osaïas, avec la moitié des princes de Juda,	32 And after them went Hoshaiah, and one half part of the leadership of Judah,
33 Azarias, Esdras, Mosollam, Judas, Benjamin, Séméia et Jérémie,	33 and Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam, Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah.
34 et parmi les fils des prêtres avec leurs trompettes, Zacharie, fils de Jonathan, fils de Séméia, fils de Mathanias, fils de Michaïa, fils de Zéchur, fils d'Asaph,	34 And some of the sons of the priests went forth with trumpets: Zachariah, the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph.
35 et ses frères, Séméia, Azarél, Malalaï, Galalaï, Maaï, Nathanaël, Judas et Hanani, avec les instruments ordonnés par David, (l') homme de Dieu(, pour chanter les saints cantiques) ; et Esdras, le scribe, était devant eux à la porte de la Fontaine.	35 And his brothers, Shemaiah, and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, and Hanani, went forth with the canticles of David, the man of God. And Ezra, the scribe, was before them at the fountain gate.
36 Ils montèrent vis à vis d'eux sur les degrés de la ville (cité) de David, à l'endroit où le mur s'élève au-dessus de la maison de David, et jusqu'à la porte les eaux, vers l'orient.	36 And opposite them, they ascended by the steps of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall above the house of David, and as far as the water gate to the east.
37 Le second chœur de ceux qui rendaient grâces à Dieu marchait à l'opposé (opposite), et je le suivais avec la moitié du peuple sur le mur, et sur la tour des fourneaux, jusqu'au mur très large,	37 And the second choir of those who gave thanks went forth on the opposite side, and I went after them, and one half part of the people were upon the wall, and upon the tower of the furnaces, as far as the widest wall,
38 et sur la porte d'Ephraïm, et sur la porte ancienne, et sur la porte des poissons, et sur la tour d'Hananéel, et sur la tour d'Emath, et jusqu'à la porte du troupeau ; et ils s'arrêtèrent à la porte de la prison.	38 and above the gate of Ephraim, and above the ancient gate, and above the fish gate, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hamath, and as far as the flock gate. And they stood still at the watch gate.
39 Et les deux chœurs de ceux qui chantaient les louanges du Seigneur s'arrêtèrent devant (dans) la maison de Dieu, et moi aussi, et la moitié des magistrats avec moi ;	39 And the two choirs of those who gave praise stood still at the house of God, with myself and one half part of the magistrates who were with me.
40 et les prêtres Eliachim, Maasia, Miamin, Michéa, Elioénaï, Zacharie et Hanania, avec leurs trompettes,	40 And the priests, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Mijamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, Hananiah, went forth with trumpets,
41 et Maasia, Séméia, Eléazar, Azzi, Johanan, Melchias, Elam et Ezer. Et les chantres firent retentir bien haut leurs voix avec Jezraïa leur chef (préposé).	41 with Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers were singing clearly, and Jezrahiah was their foremost leader.
42 Ils immolèrent en ce jour-là de nombreuses victimes dans des transports de joie ; car Dieu les avait remplis d'une joie (très) grande. Leurs femmes aussi et leurs enfants se réjouirent, et la joie de Jérusalem se fit entendre au loin.	42 And on that day, they immolated great sacrifices, and they rejoiced. For God had caused them to rejoice with great joy. And their wives and children also were glad. And the rejoicing of Jerusalem was heard from far away.
43 On établit aussi, ce jour là, des prêtres et des Lévites (hommes) sur les chambres du trésor, afin que les chefs (princes) de la ville (cité) se servissent d'eux pour recueillir avec de dignes actions de grâces les offrandes de liqueurs, les prémices et les dîmes ; car Juda se réjouissait de voir les prêtres et les Lévites à leur poste.	43 On that day also, they enrolled men over the storehouses of the treasury, for the libations, and for the first-fruits, and for the tithes, so that the leaders of the city might bring these in, by them, with proper thanksgiving, for the priests and the Levites. For Judah was rejoicing in the priests and the Levites who were assisting.
44 Car ils observèrent l'ordonnance de leur Dieu et celle de l'expiation ; et de même les chantres et les portiers, suivant les prescriptions de David et de Salomon, son fils ;	44 And they kept the vigil of their God, and the vigil of expiation, with the singing men and the gatekeepers, in accord with the precept of David, and of Solomon, his son.
45 car dès le commencement, au temps de David et d'Asaph, il y avait des chefs (princes) établis sur les chantres, qui louaient Dieu par des cantiques et des hymnes (louaient et glorifiaient Dieu).	45 For in the days of David and Asaph, from the beginning, there were leaders appointed over the singers, to give praise in verses, and to confess to God.
46 Et tout Israël, au temps de Zorobabel et de Néhémie, donnait aux chantres et aux portiers leur portion chaque jour. Ils donnaient aux Lévites ce qui leur était dû des choses saintes, et les Lévites faisaient de même pour les fils d'Aaron.	46 And all of Israel, in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave portions to the singing men and to the gatekeepers, for each day, and they sanctified the Levites, and the Levites sanctified the sons of Aaron.
