| 1 Lorsque Je voulais guérir Israël, l'iniquité d'Ephraïm et la malice de Samarie se sont révélées, car ils ont opéré le mensonge; le voleur est entré pour piller, et le brigand est au dehors. | 1 When I was willing to heal Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the malice of Samaria, for they had been manufacturing lies. And the thief steals from inside, the robber from outside. |
| 2 Et qu'ils ne disent pas dans leurs coeurs que Je Me souviens de toute leur méchanceté; maintenant leurs mauvais desseins les entourent, ils sont devant Ma face. | 2 And, so that they may not say in their hearts that I am the one who has called to mind all of their wickedness: now their own inventions have encircled them. These things have happened in my presence. |
| 3 Par leur malice ils réjouissent le roi, et les princes par leurs mensonges. | 3 The king has rejoiced at their wickedness, and the leaders have rejoiced in their lies. |
| 4 Ils sont tous des adultères, semblables à un four chauffé par le boulanger; la ville s'est reposée un peu, depuis que le levain a été mêlé avec la pâte, jusqu'à ce que le tout ait fermenté. | 4 They are all adulterers; like an oven heating up before baking, the city rested a little before the leaven was mixed in, until the whole was leavened. |
| 5 C'est le jour de notre roi; les princes se sont enivrés jusqu'à la fureur, le roi a tendu la main aux moqueurs. | 5 On the day of our king, the leaders began to be mad with wine; he extended his hand with those who fabricate illusions. |
| 6 Ils ont fait de leur coeur un four lorsqu'on leur tendait des pièges; leur boulanger a dormi toute la nuit, le matin il a été lui-même embrasé comme un feu ardent. | 6 For they have used their heart like an oven, while he laid snares for them; he slept through the night baking them, and by morning he himself was heated like a burning fire. |
| 7 Ils sont tous échauffés comme un four, et ils ont dévoré leurs juges, tous leurs rois sont tombés; aucun d'eux ne crie vers Moi. | 7 They have all become hot like an oven, and they have devoured their judges. All their kings have fallen. There is no one who calls to me among them. |
| 8 Ephraïm lui-même s'est mêlé avec les nations; Ephraïm est devenu comme un pain qui cuit sous la cendre et qu'on ne retourne pas. | 8 Ephraim himself has been mingled with the nations. Ephraim has become like bread, baked under ashes, that has not been turned over. |
| 9 Des étrangers ont dévoré sa force et il ne l'a pas senti; ses cheveux sont devenus blancs et il ne l'a pas su. | 9 Strangers have devoured his strength, and he did not know it. And grey hairs also have spread across him, and he is ignorant of it. |
| 10 L'orgueil d'Israël a été humilié sous ses yeux, et ils ne sont pas revenus au Seigneur leur Dieu, et ils ne L'ont pas cherché, malgré tout cela. | 10 And the pride of Israel will be brought low before his face, for they have not returned to the Lord their God, nor have they sought him in all of this. |
| 11 Ephraïm est devenu comme une colombe facile à séduire, sans intelligence. Ils ont appelé l'Egypte; ils sont allés chez les Assyriens. | 11 And Ephraim has become like a pigeon that has been led astray, not having a heart; for they called upon Egypt, they went to the Assyrians. |
| 12 Et, lorsqu'ils seront partis, J'étendrai Mon filet sur eux: Je les ferai tomber comme les oiseaux du ciel, Je les châtierai comme ils l'ont appris dans leur assemblée. | 12 And when they will set out, I will spread my net over them. I will pull them down like the birds of the sky; I will cut them down in accordance with the reports of their meetings. |
| 13 Malheur à eux, parce qu'ils se sont retirés de Moi! Ils seront dévastés, parce qu'ils M'ont été infidèles; Je les ai rachetés, et ils ont préféré des mensonges contre Moi. | 13 Woe to them, for they have withdrawn from me. They will waste away because they have been dishonest with me. And I redeemed them, and they have spoken lies against me. |
| 14 Ils n'ont pas crié vers Moi dans leur coeur, mais ils hurlaient dans leurs lits; ils ne pensaient qu'au blé et au vin, ils se sont éloignés de Moi. | 14 And they have not cried out to me in their heart, but they howled on their beds. They have obsessed about wheat and wine; they have withdrawn from me. |
| 15 Et Moi Je les ai instruits et J'ai fortifié leurs bras, et ils ont médité le mal contre Moi. | 15 And I have educated them, and I have reinforced their arms; and they have imagined evil against me. |
| 16 Ils se sont retournés pour secouer le joug; ils sont devenus comme un arc trompeur; leurs princes tomberont par l'épée, à cause de la fureur de leur langue. C'est ainsi qu'ils seront la risée du pays d'Egypte. | 16 They returned so that they might be without a yoke. They have become like a deceitful bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword because of the madness of their words. This is their derision in the land of Egypt. |
