| 1 La parole du Seigneur me fut adressée en ces termes: | 1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows, |
| 2 Fils de l'homme, tourne ton visage vers les montagnes d'Israël, et prophétise contre elles, | 2 'Son of man, turn towards the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them. |
| 3 et dis: Montagnes d'Israël, écoutez la parole du Seigneur Dieu. Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu aux montagnes et aux collines, aux roches et aux vallées: Voici que Je ferai venir l'épée sur vous, et Je détruirai vos hauts lieux, | 3 Say, "Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh. The Lord Yahweh says this to mountainsand hil s and ravines and val eys: Look, I am going to summon the sword against you and destroy your highplaces. |
| 4 J'abattrai vos autels, et vos statues seront brisées, et Je ferai tomber vos morts devant vos idoles; | 4 Your altars will be wrecked, and your incense burners smashed; I shal fling your butchered inhabitantsdown in front of your foul idols; |
| 5 Je mettrai les cadavres des enfants d'Israël devant vos statues, et Je disperserai vos os autour de vos autels; | 5 I shall lay the corpses of the Israelites in front of their foul idols and scatter their bones all round youraltars. |
| 6 dans tous les pays où vous habitez les villes seront désertes, les hauts lieux seront détruits et renversés, vos autels tomberont et seront brisés, vos idoles disparaîtront, vos temples seront abattus, et vos ouvrages seront anéantis, | 6 Wherever you live, the towns will be destroyed and the high places wrecked, to the ruin and wrecking ofyour altars, the shattering and abolition of your foul idols, the smashing of your incense burners and the utterdestruction of al your works. |
| 7 et les morts tomberont au milieu de vous, et vous saurez que Je suis le Seigneur. | 7 As the butchered fall about you, you wil know that I am Yahweh. |
| 8 J'en laisserai quelques-uns d'entre vous qui auront échappé au glaive, parmi les nations, lorsque Je vous aurai dispersés à travers les contrées; | 8 "But I shal spare some of you to escape the sword among the nations, when you have been dispersedin their lands; |
| 9 et ceux d'entre vous qui auront été délivrés se souviendront de Moi parmi les nations où ils auront été emmenés captifs, parce que J'aurai brisé leur coeur adultère et apostat, et leurs yeux qui s'étaient prostitués après leurs idoles; et ils se déplairont à eux-mêmes, à cause des maux qu'ils auront faits dans toutes leurs abominations; | 9 and your survivors wil remember me among the nations where they are held captive, since I shal havebroken their adulterous hearts for having deserted me, and destroyed their eyes for having turned adulterouslytowards their foul idols. They wil loathe themselves for al the wrong they have caused by their loathsomepractices. |
| 10 et ils sauront que Moi, le Seigneur, Je ne les ai pas menacés en vain de leur faire ces maux. | 10 Then they wil know that I am Yahweh and that I was not talking lightly when I said that I would inflictthese disasters on them." |
| 11 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: Frappe de la main et bats du pied, et dis: Hélas! à cause de toutes les mauvaises abominations de la maison d'Israël, car ils tomberont par l'épée, par la famine et par la peste. | 11 'The Lord Yahweh says this, "Clap your hands, stamp your feet, and say: Alas for al the loathsomesins of the House of Israel, which is about to fal by sword, famine and plague! |
| 12 Celui qui est loin mourra de la peste; celui qui est près tombera par l'épée; celui qui sera resté et qui sera assiégé mourra par la faim, et J'assouvirai Mon indignation sur eux. | 12 Far off, they wil die by plague; near at hand they will fal by the sword; and any who survive or arespared wil die of famine. This is how I shal sate my fury on them. |
| 13 Et vous saurez que Je suis le Seigneur, lorsque vos morts seront au milieu de vos idoles, autour de vos autels, sur toute colline élevée, et sur tous les sommets des montagnes, et sous tout arbre vert, et sous tout chêne touffu, là où ils ont brûlé l'encens odorant pour toutes leurs idoles. | 13 Then you will know that I am Yahweh, when their butchered corpses lie among their foul idols, allround their altars, on every high hil , on every mountain top, under every green tree, under every leafy oak,wherever they offer a smel pleasing to al their idols. |
| 14 J'étendrai Ma main sur eux, et Je rendrai la terre désolée et abandonnée, depuis le désert de Déblatha, dans tous les lieux où ils habitent, et ils sauront que Je suis le Seigneur. | 14 I shal point my finger at them and reduce the country to an empty wasteland from the desert to Riblah,everywhere they live, and they wil know that I am Yahweh." ' |
