1 Voici le dénombrement des fils d'Israël qui, ayant été emmenés captifs à Babylone par Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, revinrent à Jérusalem et en Juda, chacun dans sa ville.	1 Now these were the people of the province who came up out of the captivity of those exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried captive to Babylonia; they returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his own town.
2 Ils partirent avec Zorobabel, Josué, Néhémie, Saraïa, Rahélaïa, Mardochaï, Belsan, Mesphar, Réguaï, Réhum et Baana. Nombre des hommes du peuple d'Israël:	2 They came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Re-el-aiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, and Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

6 Les fils de Phahath-Moab, fils de Josué et de Joab, deux mille huit cent douze.	6 The sons of Pahath-moab, namely the sons of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve.

58 Tous les Nathinéens et les fils des serviteurs de Salomon étaient au nombre de trois cent quatre-vingt-douze.	58 All the temple servants and the sons of Solomon's servants were three hundred and ninety-two.
59 Voici ceux qui vinrent de Thelmala, de Thelharsa, de Chérub, d'Adon et d'Emer, et qui ne purent faire connaître la maison de leurs pères, ni s'ils étaient de la race d'Israël:	59 The following were those who came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addan, and Immer, though they could not prove their fathers' houses or their descent, whether they belonged to Israel:
60 les fils de Dalaïa, les fils de Tobie, les fils de Nécoda; six cent cinquante-deux en tout.	60 the sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, and the sons of Nekoda, six hundred and fifty-two.
61 Et des fils des prêtres : les fils d'Hobia, les fils d'Accos, les fils de Berzellaï, qui épousa l'une des filles de Berzellaï de Galaad, et qui fut appelé de leur nom.	61 Also, of the sons of the priests: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Hakkoz, and the sons of Barzillai (who had taken a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called by their name).
62 Ils cherchèrent l'écrit où était leur généalogie; et ne l'ayant point trouvé, ils furent rejetés du sacerdoce.	62 These sought their registration among those enrolled in the genealogies, but they were not found there, and so they were excluded from the priesthood as unclean;
63 Et Athersatha leur dit de ne point manger des viandes sacrées, jusqu'à ce qu'il s'élevât un pontife docte et parfait.	63 the governor told them that they were not to partake of the most holy food, until there should be a priest to consult Urim and Thummim.
64 Toute cette multitude était comme un seul homme, et comprenait quarante-deux mille trois cent soixante personnes.	64 The whole assembly together was forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty,
65 sans les serviteurs et les servantes, qui étaient sept mille trois cent trente-sept; et parmi eux il y avait deux cents chanteurs et chanteuses.	65 besides their menservants and maidservants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven; and they had two hundred male and female singers.
66 Ils avaient sept cent trente-six chevaux, deux cent quarante-cinq mulets,	66 Their horses were seven hundred and thirty-six, their mules were two hundred and forty-five,
67 quatre cent trente-cinq chameaux, six mille sept cent vingt ânes.	67 their camels were four hundred and thirty-five, and their asses were six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
68 Plusieurs des chefs de famille, à leur arrivée à Jérusalem, au lieu où avait été le temple du Seigneur, offrirent d'eux-mêmes de quoi rebâtir la maison de Dieu au lieu où elle était autrefois.	68 Some of the heads of families, when they came to the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem, made freewill offerings for the house of God, to erect it on its site;
69 Ils donnèrent selon leurs forces, pour faire la dépense de cet ouvrage, soixante et un mille drachmes d'or, cinq mille mines d'argent et cent vêtements sacerdotaux.	69 according to their ability they gave to the treasury of the work sixty-one thousand darics of gold, five thousand minas of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.
70 Les prêtres et les lévites, et les hommes du peuple, les chantres, les portiers et les Nathinéens s'établirent donc dans leurs villes, et tout Israël habita dans ses villes.	70 The priests, the Levites, and some of the people lived in Jerusalem and its vicinity; and the singers, the gatekeepers, and the temple servants lived in their towns, and all Israel in their towns.
