1 Voici les groupes selon lesquels se répartissent les fils d’Aaron. Fils d’Aaron: Nadab, Abihou, Éléazar et Itamar.	1 The divisions of the sons of Aaron were these. The sons of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
2 Nadab et Abihou moururent avant leur père sans laisser de fils. Seuls Éléazar et Itamar exercèrent le sacerdoce.	2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children, so Eleazar and Ithamar became the priests.
3 David, aidé de Sadoq, fils d’Éléazar, et d’Ahimélek fils d’Itamar, les répartit par groupes, selon leurs fonctions.	3 With the help of Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, David organized them according to the appointed duties in their service.
4 Comme les fils d’Éléazar comprenaient plus de chefs que les fils d’Itamar, on fit seize groupes avec les chefs de familles d’Éléazar et huit avec les chefs de famille d’Itamar.	4 Since more chief men were found among the sons of Eleazar than among the sons of Ithamar, they organized them under sixteen heads of fathers' houses of the sons of Eleazar, and eight of the sons of Ithamar.
5 On répartit au sort les uns et les autres: il y eut en effet des chefs consacrés et des chefs marqués d’un caractère divin, aussi bien dans les fils d’Éléazar que dans les fils d’Itamar.	5 They organized them by lot, all alike, for there were officers of the sanctuary and officers of God among both the sons of Eleazar and the sons of Ithamar.
6 Un des lévites, le scribe Chémayas, fils de Nathanaël, les inscrivit en présence du roi, de ses officiers, de Sadoq le prêtre, d’Ahimélek, fils d’Ébyatar, et des chefs de familles des prêtres et des lévites (pour une famille tirée au sort chez les fils d’Itamar, on en tirait deux pour les fils d’Éléazar).	6 And the scribe Shemaiah the son of Nethanel, a Levite, recorded them in the presence of the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers' houses of the priests and of the Levites; one father's house being chosen for Eleazar and one chosen for Ithamar.

10 la septième à Hakos, la huitième à Abiya,	10 the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,
11 la neuvième à Yéchoua, la dixième à Chekanyas,	11 the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
12 la onzième à Élyachib, la douzième à Yakim,	12 the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
13 la treizième à Houpa, la quatorzième à Ichbaal,	13 the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebe-ab,
14 la quinzième à Bilga, la seizième à Immer,	14 the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,
15 la dix-septième à Hézir, la dix-huitième à Hapisès,	15 the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Happizzez,
16 la dix-neuvième à Petahya, la vingtième à Yéhèzkel,	16 the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezkel,
17 la vingt et unième à Yakin, la vingt-deuxième à Gamoul,	17 the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul,
18 la vingt-troisième à Délayas, la vingt-quatrième à Maazyas.	18 the twenty-third to Delaiah, the twenty-fourth to Ma-aziah.
19 Voilà ceux qui avaient comme fonction d’entrer dans la Maison de Yahvé, selon les règles que Yahvé, Dieu d’Israël avaient données par l’intermédiaire d’Aaron, leur ancêtre: c’est bien ainsi que Yahvé, le Dieu d’Israël, l’avait ordonné.	19 These had as their appointed duty in their service to come into the house of the LORD according to the procedure established for them by Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.
20 Pour les autres fils de Lévi: Pour les fils d’Amram: Shoubaël. Pour les fils de Shoubaël: Yédéyas.	20 And of the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shuba-el; of the sons of Shuba-el, Jehdeiah.
21 Pour Réabyas, pour les fils de Réabyas, l’aîné Yichiya.	21 Of Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, Isshiah the chief.
22 Pour les Yicharites, Chelomit; pour les fils de Chelomit, Yahat.	22 Of the Izharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath.
23 Fils de Hébron: Yériyas le premier, Amarya le second, Yahaziel le troisième, Yékaméam le quatrième.	23 The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth.
24 Fils d’Ouziel: Mika; pour les fils de Mika: Chamir.	24 The sons of Uzziel, Micah; of the sons of Micah, Shamir.
25 Frère de Mika, Yichiya; pour les fils de Yichiya, Zékaryas.	25 The brother of Micah, Isshiah; of the sons of Isshiah, Zechariah.
26 Fils de Mérari: Mahli et Mouchi. Fils de Yaaziyas, son fils;	26 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Ja-aziah: Beno.
27 fils de Mérari, pour Yaaziyas son fils: Choham, Zakour et Ibri;	27 The sons of Merari: of Ja-aziah, Beno, Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.
28 pour Mahli, Éléazar qui n’eut pas de fils;	28 Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.
29 pour Kich: fils de Kich, Yérahméel.	29 Of Kish, the sons of Kish: Jerahmeel.
30 Fils de Mouchi: Mahli, Éder, Yérimot. Voilà les fils de Lévi d’après leurs clans.	30 The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites according to their fathers' houses.
31 Devant le roi, Sadoq, Ahimélek et les chefs de familles des prêtres et des lévites, ils tirèrent eux aussi au sort comme l’avaient fait leurs frères, les fils d’Aaron. La famille du chef était sur le même rang que celle du plus jeune frère.	31 These also, the head of each father's house and his younger brother alike, cast lots, just as their brethren the sons of Aaron, in the presence of King David, Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of fathers' houses of the priests and of the Levites.
