1 Alors Dieu se souvint de Noé, de toutes les bêtes et tous les animaux des champs qui étaient avec lui dans l’arche. Dieu fit souffler un vent qui assécha la terre et les eaux se retirèrent.	1 But God had Noah in mind, and al the wild animals and all the cattle that were with him in the ark. Godsent a wind across the earth and the waters began to subside.
2 Les fontaines du fond de la mer et les écluses du ciel se fermèrent, la pluie s’arrêta de tomber.	2 The springs of the deep and the sluices of heaven were stopped up and the heavy rain from heavenwas held back.
3 Les eaux se retirèrent de sur la terre avec des flux et des reflux; elles baissèrent dès la fin des 150 jours.	3 Little by little, the waters ebbed from the earth. After a hundred and fifty days the waters fel ,
4 Au dix-septième jour du septième mois, l’arche se posa sur le mont Ararat.	4 and in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountainsof Ararat.
5 Les eaux continuèrent de baisser jusqu’au dixième mois, et le premier jour du dixième mois les sommets des montagnes apparurent.	5 The waters gradual y fell until the tenth month when, on the first day of the tenth month, the mountaintops appeared.
6 Au bout de quarante jours, Noé ouvrit la fenêtre qu’il avait faite dans l’arche	6 At the end of forty days Noah opened the window he had made in the ark
7 et il lâcha le corbeau qui commença d’aller et venir jusqu’à ce que les eaux aient disparu de la terre.	7 and released a raven, which flew back and forth as it waited for the waters to dry up on earth.
8 Noé lâcha ensuite la colombe pour voir si les eaux avaient baissé à la surface de la terre.	8 He then released a dove, to see whether the waters were receding from the surface of the earth.
9 Mais la colombe ne trouva pas d’endroit pour poser ses pattes, et elle revint vers lui dans l’arche, car les eaux couvraient encore la surface de la terre. Noé étendit la main, prit la colombe et la ramena vers lui dans l’arche.	9 But the dove, finding nowhere to perch, returned to him in the ark, for there was water over the wholesurface of the earth; putting out his hand he took hold of it and brought it back into the ark with him.
10 Il attendit encore sept autres jours et, de nouveau, il lâcha la colombe hors de l’arche.	10 After waiting seven more days, he again released the dove from the ark.
11 La colombe revint vers lui à l’heure du soir, et voici qu’elle tenait dans son bec une petite branche d’olivier toute fraîche. Alors Noé comprit que les eaux avaient baissé sur la terre.	11 In the evening, the dove came back to him and there in its beak was a freshly-picked olive leaf! SoNoah realised that the waters were receding from the earth.
12 Il attendit encore sept autres jours et lâcha la colombe, mais elle ne revint plus vers lui.	12 After waiting seven more days, he released the dove, and now it returned to him no more.
13 En l’an 601 de la vie de Noé, le premier jour du premier mois, les eaux avaient séché sur la terre. Noé souleva le toit de l’arche et regarda: il vit que la surface du sol était sèche.	13 It was in the six hundred and first year of Noah's life, in the first month and on the first of the month,that the waters began drying out on earth. Noah lifted back the hatch of the ark and looked out. The surface ofthe ground was dry!
14 Le vingt-septième jour du deuxième mois, la terre était complètement sèche.	14 In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.
15 Alors Dieu s’adressa à Noé et lui dit:	15 Then God said to Noah,
16 “Sors de l’arche, toi, ta femme, tes fils, et les femmes de tes fils avec toi.	16 'Come out of the ark, you, your wife, your sons, and your sons' wives with you.
17 Fais sortir tous les animaux qui sont avec toi: oiseaux, animaux des champs et tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre. Qu’ils soient féconds et nombreux sur la terre!”	17 Bring out all the animals with you, all living things, the birds, the cattle and al the creeping things thatcreep along the ground, for them to swarm on earth, for them to breed and multiply on earth.'
18 Noé sortit alors avec ses fils, sa femme et les femmes de ses fils.	18 So Noah came out with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives.
19 Tous les animaux, tous les oiseaux, tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre sortirent aussi de l’arche, famille par famille.	19 And al the wild animals, al the cattle, al the birds and al the creeping things that creep along theground, came out of the ark, one species after another.
20 Noé construisit un autel en l’honneur de Yahvé; il prit de tous les animaux purs et de tous les oiseaux purs et il en offrit un sacrifice par le feu sur cet autel.	20 Then Noah built an altar to Yahweh and, choosing from al the clean animals and all the clean birds hepresented burnt offerings on the altar.
21 Yahvé sentit la bonne odeur et il dit en son cœur: “Je ne maudirai plus jamais la terre à cause de l’homme, car les pensées du cœur de l’homme sont mauvaises dès sa jeunesse, je ne recommencerai plus à frapper les êtres vivants comme je l’ai fait.	21 Yahweh smelt the pleasing smell and said to himself, 'Never again wil I curse the earth because ofhuman beings, because their heart contrives evil from their infancy. Never again wil I strike down every livingthing as I have done.
22 Aussi longtemps que la terre durera, semailles et moissons, gelées et chaleur, été, hiver, jour et nuit, ne cesseront plus.”	22 As long as earth endures: seed-time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and nightwil never cease.'
