1 Allora fu menato Iesù nel deserto dal Spirito, acciò che fosse tentato dal diavolo.	1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 E avendo digiunato quaranta giorni e quaranta notti, poi ebbe fame.	2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 E venendo a lui il tentatore, disse: se tu se' figliuolo di Dio, di' che queste pietre diventino pane.	3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 E Iesù rispose: scritto è: non di solo pane vive l'uomo, ma di ogni parola che proceda dalla bocca di Dio.	4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Allora il diavolo il prese, e portollo nella città santa nel tempio, e poselo nel pinaculo.	5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 E disse a lui: se tu sei figliuolo di Dio; buttati giuso di sotto; imperò ch' egli è scritto, che Dio comandò alli angioli suoi di te, che ti ricogliano nelle lor mani (e guardino te), acciò che il tuo piede non sia offeso dalle pietre.	6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Disse a lui Iesù: scritto è: non tentare il Signore Iddio tuo.	7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Allora il diavolo il prese un' altra volta, e portollo su in uno monte molto alto; e mostrolli tutti li reami del mondo, e tutta la loro gloria.	8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 E disseli: tutte queste cose io ti darò, se tu ti vogli inchinare in terra, e adorarmi.	9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Allora disse Iesù va via, Satana; imperò ch' egli è scritto: il tuo Signore Iddio adorerai, e a lui solo servirai.	10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Allora il diavolo si partì da lui; e li angioli vennero, e servirono a lui.	11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
12 E udendo Iesù, che Ioanne era preso,	12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
13 lasciata la città di Nazaret, andossene in Galilea, e venne ad abitare nella città marittima di Cafarnao, nelle confine di Zabulon e di Neftali,	13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
14 acciò fosse adempiuto quel ch' è stato detto per Isaia profeta:	14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
15 Tu, terra di Zabulon, e terra di Neftali, via del mare oltre il Iordano, Galilea delle genti,	15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
16 il popolo che andava nelle tenebre, vide la grande luce; e alli sedenti nella regione dell' ombra della morte, a loro è nata la luce.	16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
17 E d' indi incominciò Iesù a predicare e dire: fate penitenza; imperò che si appresserà il regno de' cieli.	17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
18 Andava Iesù appresso il mare di Galilea, e vide due fratelli, cioè Simone Pietro, e Andrea suo fratello, che ponevano le reti in mare; imperò che erano pescatori.	18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19 E (Iesù) disse a loro: venite dopo me, imperò ch' io vi farò pescatori di uomini.	19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20 Ed egli immantinente abbandorono le reti, e seguitoronlo.	20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
21 E partendosi quindi, vide altri due fratelli, cioè Iacobo di Zebedeo e Ioanne suo fratello, nella nave con Zebedeo suo padre, che reconciavano le reti; e (Iesù) li chiamò.	21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
22 Ed egli abbandonorono il padre e le reti, e seguitorono lui.	22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
23 E Iesù circuiva tutta Galilea, insegnando nelle sinagoghe, e predicando l'evangelio del regno, e sanando ogni pessima infirmità nel popolo.	23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24 E la sua opinione spargevasi in tutta la Siria; e offerivano a lui tutti li infermi di varie in-fermità, e tenuti da' tormenti, e quelli che avevano li demonii, e' lunatici e' paralitici; ed egli li sanava.	24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
25 E da Galilea il seguitorono molte turbe, e da Decapoli ( ch' era città capo di dieci città), e da Ierusalem e da Iudea, e dalle terre ch' erano oltra lordane.	25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
