Proverbi 10

BIBBIA VOLGARE	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Il savio figliuolo fa il suo padre lieto; e il malvagio figliuolo è dolore e tribulazione della madre sua.	1 A wise son maketh the father glad: but a foolish son is the sorrow of his mother.
2 E la malvagia ricchezza poco giova (al suo signore); ma il bene fare libera l'uomo dalla (malvagia) morte.	2 Treasures of wickedness shall profit nothing: but justice shall deliver from death.
3 Il buono uomo non averà già villana povertà, e Dio il guarderà da' suoi nemici.	3 The Lord will not afflict the soul of the just with famine, and he will disappoint the deceitful practices of the wicked.
4 La malvagia vita dell' uomo gli dà povertade (e inferno); e chi è prode uomo in questo secolo, elli apparecchia il suo albergo in paradiso. Colui che sua fidanza ha sicura nella bugia, assimiglia colui che vive di vento; assimiglia a colui che caccia li uccelli volanti.	4 The slothful hand hath wrought poverty: but the hand of the industrious getteth riches. He that trusteth to lies feedeth the winds: and the same runneth after birds that fly away.
5 Chi provede la sua vita quando tempo è, egli è savio; chi non lo farà, non sarà sanza confusione.	5 He that gathered in the harvest is a wise son: but he that snorteth in the summer, is the son of confusion.
6 Nostro Signore dona la sua benedizione ai buoni uomini (e ha tutti i suoi beni); alli uomini giotti, maledicenti e arigogliosi dona sua maledizione.	6 The blessing of the Lord is upon the head of the just: but iniquity covereth the mouth of the wicked.
7 (Folli e savi) tutti lodano il buon uomo, (e sì ne dicono bene); ma la ricordanza del malvagio è molto tosto dimenticata (e andata via).	7 The memory of the just is with praises: and the name of the wicked shall rot.
8 Quando l'uomo dice al savio una parola, ello la intende tosto; ma il folle non ha cura d' intendere bene.	8 The wise of heart receiveth precepts: a fool is beaten with lips.
9 Chi semplicemente serve nostro Signore, molto può avere grande sicurtade; e chi va per male vie (e fa male in prova), egli coglierà male apertamente.	9 He that walketh sincerely, walketh confidently: but he that perverteth his ways, shall be manifest.
10 Chi altrui schernisce, male gli addiverrà; e il folle non si castigherà inanzi che misvenga.	10 He that winketh with the eye shall cause sorrow: and the foolish in lips shall be beaten.
11 Chi al folle uomo favella, elli non ne va già di meglio; e chi al savio uomo favella, è confortato in bene.	11 The mouth of the just is a vein of life: and the mouth of the wicked covereth iniquity.
12 L'odio si muove contenzioni (e vane parole); ma chi ha caritade (e buono amore, il nostro Signore) spegne tutti i peccati e mali.	12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: and charity covereth all sins.
13 Nelle parole del savio uomo troverai senno (e dottrina); ma il malvagio cuore sempre disserve e a sè fa male.	13 In the lips of the wise is wisdom found: and a rod on the back of him that wanteth sense.
14 (Alcuna volta addiviene ch' ) e' savi non mostrano loro senno; ma il folle dimostra sempre in che parte ello sia.	14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the fool is next to confusion.
15 La ricchezza del prode uomo è sì come forte terra; e colui che malvagiamente ha guadagnato ciò che ello ha, è tuttavia in paura.	15 The substance of a rich man is the city of his strength: the fear of the poor is their poverty.
16 Tutto ciò che [opera] il prode uomo e il savio, alla vita perdurabile li vale; e li fatti del malvagio li tornano (in dolore e) in peccato.	16 The work of the just is unto life: but the fruit of the wicked, unto sin.
17 Chi si guarda in buono stato, egli è in via di vita; e chi non intende castigamento, egli è in mala vita.	17 The way of life, to him that observeth correction: but he that forsaketh reproofs goeth astray.
18 Il malvagio cuore inodia il prossimo celatamente; e chi dice altrui villania, egli è folle.	18 Lying lips hide hatred: he that uttereth reproach is foolish.
19 Troppo favellare ha spesso peccato; e chi favella con misura, quello è savio.	19 In the multitude of words there shall not want sin: but he that refraineth his lips is most wise.
20 La parola del savio uomo vale meglio che argento; ma il folle mostra il suo cuore di niente.	20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: but the heart of the wicked is nothing worth.
21 La parola del savio uomo castiga molta gente; ma coloro che niente fanno, in tutte povertadi fieno allora morti.	21 The lips of the just teach many: but they that are ignorant, shall die in the want of understanding.
22 Molto è ricco (di grandi ricchezze) colui al quale Iddio dà la sua benedizione; chè non averà già gravezza nè tormento (in tutta sua vita).	22 The blessing of the Lord maketh men rich: neither shall affliction be joined to them.
23 Quello che ha il cuore pieno di male (e di dolore) sì fae fellonia altrui, sì come di gabbare; ma il savio uomo si guarda molto da gravare.	23 A fool worketh mischief as it were for sport: but wisdom is prudence to a man.
24 (Ispesse volte addiviene che) il malvagio uomo (ha paura ch' egli non misvenga, e di) ciò che teme gli adiviene; (e alcuna volta) hae il buon uomo da Dio il suo desiderio.	24 That which the wicked feareth, shall come upon him: to the just their desire shall be given.
25 I disleali e malvagi (e coloro che sono contrarii alla fede, non possono già lungo tempo durare, anzi) trapassono come tempesta, (che tanto quanto vivono fanno male al loro podere, sì come fae la tempesta tanto quanto ella dura); i santi uomini (che non fanno se non bene al loro podere) viveranno tutto tempo in buono stato; (il nostro Signore li guarderà incontro a tutti li mali).	25 As a tempest that passeth, so the wicked shall be no more: but the just is as an everlasting foundation.
26 Così come l' aceto è di mal sapore (e amaro) alla bocca; così come fumo è contrario agli occhi (e fagli lacrimare); così è grieve il malvagio messaggio al suo Signore. (Qui dice Salomone: così come l'aceto si discorda del buono vino, così grava la vita de' malvagi a' santi uomini; e altresì come il fumo fa agli occhi lacrimare, e per natura così richiede, così a' santi uomini la vita de' peccatori che non si vogliono ammendare).	26 As vinegar to the teeth, and smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that sent him.
27 Chi Iddio teme viverà sicuramente; e chi non lo teme, sua vita sarà piccola (e male ordinata).	27 The fear of the Lord shall prolong days: and the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 (Cioè che) i prodi uomini (sono in buono stato e) attendono sicuramente la morte (quando Iddio loro la manderae, però che sanno bene che anderanno in vita durabile, e però li tiene in gioia in questo mondo); ma perciò che i disleali attendono la morte dello inferno, gli confonde.	28 The expectation of the just is joy; but the hope of the wicked shall perish.
29 Il semplice mette la sua sapienza nel nostro Signore, (nella sua forza, e in lui medesimo già non si fida); ma il malvagio uomo è tuttavia in paura (quando si ricorda della mala vita, quando l'ha lungo tempo menata, e de' peccati ch' elli ha fat?i).	29 The strength of the upright is the way of the Lord: and fear to them that work evil.
30 In grande sicurtade vive chi non si sente in peccato; e già non averà malvagi a parte dal nostro Signore.	30 The just shall never be moved: but the wicked shall not dwell on the earth.
31 Molto è buono ciò che il prode uomo insegna; ma i disleali non sono se none apparecchiati a dire male d'altrui, e di farne.	31 The mouth of the just shall bring forth wisdom: the tongue of the perverse shall perish.
32 A niuno dirae il savio uomo follia; ma il folle non dice già mai volentieri bene.	32 The lips of the just consider what is acceptable: and the mouth of the wicked uttereth perverse things.
