1 Queste sono le generazioni di Aronne e Mosè, nel giorno in cui il Signore parlò a Mosè sul monte Sinai.	1 These are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the Lord spoke to Moses in mount Sinai.
2 Questi sono i nomi dei figli di Aronne: Nadab, il primogenito, Abiu, Eleazaro e Itamar.	2 And these the names of the sons of Aaron: his firstborn Nadab, then Abiu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.
3 Questi sono i nomi dei figli di Aronne, unti sacerdoti, le cui mani erano state riempite per il sacerdozio.	3 These the names of the sons of Aaron the priests that were anointed, and whose hands were filled and consecrated, to do the functions of priesthood.
4 Nadab e Abiu morirono alla presenza del Signore, mentre offrivano fuoco profano davanti al Signore nel deserto del Sinai: non ebbero figli, e furono sacerdoti Eleazaro e Itamar, alla presenza di Aronne, loro padre.	4 Now Nadab and Abiu died, without children, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the desert of Sinai: and Eleazar and Ithamar performed the priestly office in the presence of Aaron their father.
5 Il Signore disse a Mosè:	5 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
6 "Fa' avvicinare la tribù di Levi: la farai stare davanti ad Aronne, sacerdote, perché lo serva.	6 Bring the tribe of Levi, and make them stand in the sight of Aaron the priest to minister to him, and let them watch,
7 Custodiranno il suo servizio e il servizio di tutta la comunità davanti alla tenda del convegno, per fare il lavoro della dimora.	7 And observe whatsoever appertaineth to the service of the multitude before the tabernacle of the testimony,
8 Custodiranno tutti gli arredi della tenda del convegno e il servizio dei figli d'Israele per fare il lavoro della dimora.	8 And let them keep the vessels of the tabernacle, serving in the ministry thereof.
9 Darai i leviti ad Aronne e ai suoi figli come "donati": essi saranno per lui "donati" da parte dei figli d'Israele.	9 And thou shalt give the Levites for a gift,
10 Designerai poi Aronne e i suoi figli, perché custodiscano il proprio sacerdozio: ogni estraneo che si avvicinerà sarà messo a morte".	10 To Aaron and to his sons, to whom they are delivered by the children of Israel. But thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons over the service of priesthood. The stranger that approacheth to minister, shall be put to death.
11 Il Signore disse a Mosè:	11 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying :
12 "Ecco, io ho preso i leviti tra i figli d'Israele al posto di ogni primogenito, che apre il grembo tra i figli d'Israele, e saranno leviti per me:	12 I have taken the Levites from the children of Israel, for every firstborn that openeth the womb among the children of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine.
13 perché mio è ogni primogenito. Nel giorno in cui colpii tutti i primogeniti nella terra d'Egitto, feci santificare per me ogni primogenito in Israele: dall'uomo all'animale; sono miei. Io sono il Signore".	13 For every firstborn is mine: since I struck the firstborn in the land of Egypt: I have sanctified to myself whatsoever is firstborn in Israel both of man and beast, they are mine: I am the Lord.
14 Il Signore ordinò a Mosè nel deserto del Sinai:	14 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, saying:
15 "Passa in rassegna i figli di Levi, secondo le loro case paterne, le loro famiglie: registrerai ogni maschio da un mese in su".	15 Number the sons of Levi by the houses of their fathers and their families, every male from one month and upward.
16 Mosè li registrò secondo la parola del Signore, come aveva ordinato.	16 Moses numbered them as the Lord had commanded.
17 Questi furono i figli di Levi secondo i loro nomi: Gherson, Keat e Merari.	17 And there were found sons of Levi by their names, Gerson and Caath and Merari.
18 Questi sono i nomi dei figli di Gherson: Libni e Simei.	18 The sons of Gerson: Lebni and Semei.
19 I figli di Keat, secondo le loro famiglie: Amram, Isear, Ebron e Uzziel.	19 The sons of Caath: Amram, and Jesaar, Hebron and Oziel:
20 I figli di Merari, secondo le loro famiglie: Macli e Musi. Queste sono le famiglie di Levi, secondo le loro case paterne.	20 The sons of Merari: Moholi and Musi.
21 Di Gherson è la famiglia di Libni e la famiglia di Simei: questo il nome delle famiglie di Gherson.	21 Of Gerson were two families, the Lebnites, and the Semeites:

These are the families of the Caathites reckoned up by their names:

30 Il capo della casa paterna, secondo le famiglie di Keat, è Elisafan, figlio di Uzziel.	30 And their prince shall be Elisaphan the son of Oziel:
31 Loro cura è l'arca, la mensa, il candelabro, gli altari, gli arredi del santuario, di cui si servono, il velo e tutto il suo materiale.	31 And they shall keep the ark, and the table and the candlestick, the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary, wherewith they minister, and the veil, and all the furniture of this kind.
32 Il capo supremo dei leviti è Eleazaro, figlio del sacerdote Aronne, con il controllo degli addetti alla cura del santuario.	32 And the prince of the princes of the Levites, Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, shall be over them that watch for the guard of the sanctuary.
33 Di Merari è la famiglia di Macli e la famiglia di Musi: questo il nome delle famiglie di Merari.	33 And of Merari are the families of the Moholites, and Musites, reckoned up by their names :
34 I loro recensiti, contando tutti i maschi da un mese in su: 6.200.	34 All of the male kind from one month and upward, six thousand two hundred.
35 Il capo della casa paterna, secondo le famiglie di Merari, è Suriel, figlio di Abicail: si accamperanno nella parte a nord della dimora.	35 Their prince Suriel the son of Abihaiel: they shall camp on the north side.
36 Compito dei figli di Merari era curare le assi della dimora, le sue stanghe, le sue colonne, i suoi basamenti, tutti i suoi arredi e tutto il loro mantenimento;	36 Under their custody shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars, and the pillars and their sockets, and all things that pertain to this kind of service:
37 e anche le colonne intorno al cortile, i loro basamenti, i loro pioli e le loro corde.	37 And the pillars of the court round about with their sockets, and the pins with their cords.
38 Accampati davanti alla dimora, a est, davanti alla tenda del convegno, a oriente, saranno Mosè, Aronne e i loro figli, che avranno la cura del santuario, per incarico dei figli d'Israele. Ogni estraneo che si avvicinerà sarà messo a morte.	38 Before the tabernacle of the covenant, that is to say on the east side, shall Moses and Aaron camp, with their sons, having the custody of the sanctuary, in the midst of the children of Israel. What stranger soever cometh unto it, shall be put to death.
39 Tutti i recensiti dei leviti, che Mosè ed Aronne recensirono sulla parola del Signore, secondo le loro famiglie, ogni maschio da un mese in su: 22.000.	39 All the Levites, that Moses and Aaron numbered according to the precept of the Lord, by their families, of the male kind from one month and upward, were twenty-two thousand.
40 Il Signore disse a Mosè: "Fa' il censimento di tutti i primogeniti maschi tra i figli d'Israele, da un mese in su, e preleva il numero dei loro nomi:	40 And the Lord said to Moses: Number the firstborn of the male sex of the children of Israel, from one month and upward, and thou shalt take the sum of them.
41 prenderai i leviti per me -- io sono il Signore -- al posto di ogni maschio dei figli d'Israele e il bestiame dei leviti al posto di ogni primogenito del bestiame dei figli d'Israele".	41 And thou shalt take the Levites to me for all the firstborn of the children of Israel, I am the Lord: and their cattle for all the firstborn of the cattle of the children of Israel:
42 Mosè fece il censimento, come gli aveva ordinato il Signore, di ogni primogenito dei figli d'Israele.	42 Moses reckoned up, as the Lord had commanded, the firstborn of the children of Israel:
43 Ogni primogenito maschio, contando i nomi da un mese in su, secondo il loro censimento: 22.273.	43 And the males by their names, from one month and upward, were twenty-two thousand two hundred and seventy-three.
44 Il Signore ordinò a Mosè:	44 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saving:
45 "Prendi i leviti al posto di ogni primogenito dei figli d'Israele e il bestiame dei leviti al posto del loro bestiame: miei saranno i leviti -- io sono il Signore. --	45 Take the Levites for the firstborn of the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites for their cattle, and the Levites shall be mine. I am the Lord.
46 Come prezzo di riscatto dei 27 3 che eccedono i leviti tra i primogeniti dei figli d'Israele,	46 But for the price of the two hundred and seventy-three, of the firstborn of the children of Israel, that exceed the number of the Levites,
47 prenderai cinque sicli a testa: prenderai del siclo del santuario, di venti ghera per siclo.	47 Thou shalt take five sides for every head, according to the weight of the sanctuary. A sicle hath twenty obols.
48 Darai il denaro ad Aronne e ai suoi figli come prezzo del riscatto di quelli che eccedono tra loro".	48 And then shalt give the money to Aaron and his sons, the price of them that are above.
49 Mosè prese il denaro del prezzo del riscatto per quelli che eccedevano il numero di riscatto dei leviti:	49 Moses therefore took the money of them that were above, and whom they had redeemed from the Levites,
50 dai primogeniti dei figli d'Israele prese in denaro 1.365 sicli del santuario.	50 For the firstborn of the children of Israel, one thousand three hundred and sixty-five sicles, according to the weight of the sanctuary,
51 Mosè diede il denaro del prezzo del riscatto ad Aronne e ai suoi figli, come il Signore gli aveva ordinato.	51 And gave it to Aaron and his sons, according to the word that the Lord had commanded him.
