Osea 14

1 Samaria espierà, perché si è ribellata al suo Dio; cadranno di spada, i loro bambini saranno sfracellati, e le loro donne incinte sventrate.	1 Samaria shall expiate her guilt, for she has rebelled against her God. They shall fall by the sword, their little ones shall be dashed to pieces, their expectant mothers shall be ripped open.
2 Ritorna, Israele, al Signore, tuo Dio, perché sei caduto per i tuoi peccati.	2 Return, O Israel, to the LORD, your God; you have collapsed through your guilt.
3 Preparate le parole da dire e tornate al Signore. Ditegli: "Perdona ogni iniquità! Fa' che ritroviamo la felicità e ti offriamo il frutto delle nostre labbra!	3 Take with you words, and return to the LORD; Say to him, "Forgive all iniquity, and receive what is good, that we may render as offerings the bullocks from our stalls.
4 Assur non ci salverà, non cavalcheremo più i cavalli e non diremo più "nostro Dio" all'opera delle nostre mani, poiché in te trova compassione l'orfano!".	4 Assyria will not save us, nor shall we have horses to mount; We shall say no more, 'Our god,' to the work of our hands; for in you the orphan finds compassion."
5 Io guarirò il loro traviamento, li amerò con trasporto; perché la mia collera si è ritirata da loro.	5 I will heal their defection, I will love them freely; for my wrath is turned away from them.
6 Sarò come la rugiada per Israele, egli germoglierà come un giglio, getterà le sue radici come un pioppo,	6 I will be like the dew for Israel: he shall blossom like the lily; He shall strike root like the Lebanon cedar,

8 Torneranno a sedersi alla mia ombra, coltiveranno il frumento e faranno fiorire la vigna che avrà la fama del vino del Libano.	8 Again they shall dwell in his shade and raise grain; They shall blossom like the vine, and his fame shall be like the wine of Lebanon.
9 Efraim che ha ancora in comune con gli idoli? Io lo esaudisco e a lui provvedo. Io sono come un cipresso verdeggiante; è grazie a me che in te si trovi frutto!	9 Ephraim! What more has he to do with idols? I have humbled him, but I will prosper him. "I am like a verdant cypress tree"-- Because of me you bear fruit!
10 Chi è sapiente comprenda queste parole e l'intelligente le intenda! Perché le vie del Signore sono diritte; i giusti vi si incamminano, ma i malviventi vi inciampano!	10 Let him who is wise understand these things; let him who is prudent know them. Straight are the paths of the LORD, in them the just walk, but sinners stumble in them.
