1 Al maestro di coro. Di Davide. Salmo. Canto.	1 For the leader. A psalm of David; a song.
2 Sorge Dio e i suoi nemici si disperdono, fuggono dalla sua presenza quelli che lo odiano.	2 God will arise for battle; the enemy will be scattered; those who hate God will flee.
3 Come svanisce il fumo tu li disperdi. Allo stesso modo della cera che al calore del fuoco si scioglie, così sono annientati i malvagi all'apparire di Dio.	3 The wind will disperse them like smoke; as wax is melted by fire, so the wicked will perish before God.
4 I giusti invece si rallegrano ed esultano alla presenza di Dio, ed elevano canti di giubilo.	4 Then the just will be glad; they will rejoice before God; they will celebrate with great joy.
5 Cantate a Dio, inneggiate al suo nome; preparate la via a colui che cavalca sulle nubi. Signore è il suo nome: esultate alla sua presenza.	5 Sing to God, praise the divine name; exalt the rider of the clouds. Rejoice before this God whose name is the LORD.
6 Padre degli orfani e difensore delle vedove, tale è Dio nella sua santa dimora.	6 Father of the fatherless, defender of widows-- this is the God whose abode is holy,
7 Dio riconduce a casa gli sbandati e trae a prosperità i prigionieri; soltanto i ribelli lascia in terra arida.	7 Who gives a home to the forsaken, who leads prisoners out to prosperity, while rebels live in the desert.
8 O Dio, quando uscisti davanti al tuo popolo, quando attraversasti il deserto,	8 God, when you went forth before your people, when you marched through the desert, Selah
9 tremò la terra, stillarono i cieli davanti al Dio del Sinai, davanti a Dio, il Dio d'Israele.	9 The earth quaked, the heavens shook, before God, the One of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.
10 Pioggia abbondante tu riversasti, o Dio; alla tua eredità esausta ridesti vigore.	10 You claimed a land as your own, O God;
11 Il tuo gregge ivi prese dimora, e tu ristori il misero con i tuoi benefici, o Dio.	11 your people settled there. There you poured abundant rains, God, graciously given to the poor in their need.
12 Il Signore dà le sue parole, annunziatrici, in grande schiera.	12 All you people so numerous,
13 Re di eserciti fuggono, fuggono! Le donne, ornamento della casa, dividono la preda.	13 b) Every household will share the booty,

17 Perché, o monti dalle alte cime, guardate con invidia il monte che Dio ha scelto per sua dimora? Sì, il Signore vi abiterà per sempre.	17 You rugged mountains, why look with envy at the mountain where God has chosen to dwell, where the LORD resides forever?
18 I carri di Dio sono miriadi e miriadi! Il Signore viene dal Sinai nel santuario.	18 God's chariots were myriad, thousands upon thousands; from Sinai the Lord entered the holy place.
19 Sei salito in alto, hai fatto dei prigionieri, hai ricevuto tributi fra gli uomini. Sì, anche i ribelli dovranno piegarsi, o Signore Dio.	19 You went up to its lofty height; you took captives, received slaves as tribute. No rebels can live in the presence of God.
20 Benedetto il Signore giorno per giorno; egli ha cura di noi, Dio è la nostra salvezza.	20 Blessed be the Lord day by day, God, our salvation, who carries us. Selah
21 Dio è per noi il Dio delle vittorie; e Dio, il Signore, è uno scampo di fronte alla morte.	21 Our God is a God who saves; escape from death is in the LORD God's hands.
22 Certamente schiaccerà Dio la testa dei suoi nemici e il capo altero di chi cammina nei delitti.	22 God will crush the skulls of the enemy, the hairy heads of those who walk in sin.
23 Dio ha parlato: "Da Basan li farò tornare, li farò tornare dagli abissi del mare,	23 The Lord has said: "Even from Bashan I will fetch them, fetch them even from the depths of the sea.
24 affinché tu lavi nel sangue il tuo piede, e la lingua dei tuoi cani abbia dei nemici la sua parte".	24 You will wash your feet in your enemy's blood; the tongues of your dogs will lap it up."
25 Ecco il tuo corteo, o Dio, il corteo del mio Dio, del mio Re, che entra nel santuario.	25 Your procession comes into view, O God, your procession into the holy place, my God and king.
26 Vanno avanti i cantori, vanno per ultimi i citaredi, e in mezzo le fanciulle che battono i cembali.	26 The singers go first, the harpists follow; in their midst girls sound the timbrels.
27 Benedite Dio nelle vostre assemblee; benedite il Signore, voi che discendete dalla stirpe d'Israele.	27 In your choirs, bless God; bless the LORD, you from Israel's assemblies.
28 Ecco Beniamino, il più piccolo, ma loro condottiero; i capitani di Giuda nelle loro schiere, i capitani di Zabulon, i capitani di Neftali.	28 In the lead is Benjamin, few in number; there the princes of Judah, a large throng, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali, too.
29 Dispiega, o Dio, la tua potenza; conferma, o Dio, ciò che hai operato per noi,	29 Summon again, O God, your power, the divine power you once showed for us.
30 dal tuo tempio che è in Gerusalemme. A te i re porteranno doni.	30 Show it from your temple on behalf of Jerusalem, that kings may bring you tribute.
31 Minaccia la belva del canneto, il branco dei tori, dominatori dei popoli. Abbatti quelli che nell'argento pongono il loro piacere; disperdi i popoli che amano la guerra.	31 Roar at the wild beast of the reeds, the herd of mighty bulls, the lords of nations; scatter the nations that delight in war.
32 Metallo splendente porteranno dall'Egitto; l'Etiopia protenderà le sue mani a Dio.	32 Exact rich tribute from lower Egypt, from upper Egypt, gold and silver; make Ethiopia extend its hands to God.
33 Regni della terra, cantate a Dio; lodate il Signore con il canto,	33 You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God; chant the praises of the Lord, Selah
34 lui che cavalca i cieli, i cieli eterni. Ecco, emette la sua voce, la sua voce potente.	34 Who rides the heights of the ancient heavens, whose voice is thunder, mighty thunder.
35 Riconoscete a Dio la sua potenza; su Israele è il suo vanto e sulle nubi la sua potenza.	35 Confess the power of God, whose majesty protects Israel, whose power is in the sky.
36 Terribile è Dio dal santuario. Sì, il Dio d'Israele, è lui che dà al popolo forza e vigore. Sia benedetto Dio!	36 Awesome is God in his holy place, the God of Israel, who gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!
