Hosea 12

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Ephraim besieges me with lying, the House of Israel with duplicity. (But Judah stil is on God's side, heis faithful to the Holy One.)	1 Efraim se alimenta de vento, persegue o vento do oriente, multiplica dia a dia a mentira e a violência; fazem aliança com a Assíria, e transportam óleo em homenagem ao Egito.
2 Ephraim feeds himself on wind, all day he chases the wind from the East, he heaps up cheating andviolence; they make a treaty with Assyria, at the same time sending oil to Egypt.	2 O Senhor está em processo com Judá; vai castigar Jacó pelos seus atos e tratá-lo segundo as suas obras.
3 Yahweh has a case against Judah, he will punish Jacob as his conduct merits, he will repay him as hisdeeds deserve.	3 Desde o nascimento Jacó suplantou o irmão, e quando se tornou adulto, lutou com Deus.
4 In the very womb he overreached his brother, in maturity he wrestled against God.	4 Lutou com o anjo e o venceu, chorou e lhe pediu graça. Encontrou-o em Betel, onde {Deus} nos falou,
5 He wrestled with the angel and beat him, he wept and pleaded with him. He met him at Bethel andthere God spoke to us-	5 o Senhor, Deus dos exércitos, cujo nome é Javé.
6 yes, Yahweh, God Sabaoth, Yahweh is his title!	6 Quanto a ti, volta ao teu Deus, conserva a piedade e a justiça, e espera sempre no teu Deus.
7 So turn back with God's help, maintain faithful love and loyalty and always put your trust in your God.	7 Esse mercador tem uma balança falsa e ama a fraude!
8 Merchants use fraudulent scales. To defraud is his delight.	8 Efraim disse: Em verdade, tornei-me rico, amontoei fortuna. Mas todos os seus ganhos não poderiam compensar os pecados que ele cometeu.
9 'How rich I have become!' says Ephraim, 'I have made a fortune.' But of al his gains he wil keepnothing because of the sin of which he is guilty.	9 Eu sou o Senhor, teu Deus, desde a saída do Egito; farei com que habites de novo sob tendas, como nos dias de festa.
10 But I have been Yahweh your God since your days in Egypt and will make you live in tents again asin the days of Meeting.	10 Falei aos profetas e multipliquei as visões; pela boca dos profetas falei em comparações.
11 I will speak through prophets, I will give vision after vision and through the ministry of prophets wilspeak in parables.	11 Se Galaad não passa de um ídolo vão, eles se tornaram em Gálgala um puro nada; ofereceram sacrifícios aos ídolos, por isso seus altares serão transformados em montões de pedras nos sulcos dos campos.
12 Is Gilead a sink of iniquity? Yes, they are a worthless lot! At Gilgal they sacrifice to bulls, that is whytheir altars are like heaps of stones in a ploughed field.	12 Jacó fugiu para os campos de Arão, Israel trabalhou como servo para obter esposa, e por uma mulher guardou os rebanhos.
13 Jacob fled to the countryside of Aram, Israel slaved to win a wife, to win a wife he looked after sheep.	13 O Senhor fez sair Israel do Egito por um profeta, por um profeta foi guardado o povo.
14 By a prophet Yahweh brought Israel out of Egypt and by a prophet Israel was preserved.	14 Efraim causou amargos desgostos: por isso o sangue que ele derramou recairá sobre ele, e seu Senhor lhe pagará seus ultrajes.
15 Ephraim gave bitter provocation- Yahweh will bring his bloodshed down on him, his Lord wil repayhim for his insult.
