Hosea 12

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Ephraim besieges me with lying, the House of Israel with duplicity. (But Judah stil is on God's side, heis faithful to the Holy One.)	1 Efraím me ha rodeado de mentira, de engaño la casa de Israel. (Pero Judá todavía está con Dios, y sigue fiel al Santo.)
2 Ephraim feeds himself on wind, all day he chases the wind from the East, he heaps up cheating andviolence; they make a treaty with Assyria, at the same time sending oil to Egypt.	2 Efraím se apacienta de viento, anda tras el solano todo el día; mentira y pillaje multiplica, hacen alianza con Asiria y llevan aceite a Egipto.
3 Yahweh has a case against Judah, he will punish Jacob as his conduct merits, he will repay him as hisdeeds deserve.	3 Yahveh tiene pleito con Judá, va a visitar a Jacob, según su conducta, según sus obras le devolverá.
4 In the very womb he overreached his brother, in maturity he wrestled against God.	4 En el seno materno suplantó a su hermano, y de mayor luchó con Dios.
5 He wrestled with the angel and beat him, he wept and pleaded with him. He met him at Bethel andthere God spoke to us-	5 Luchó con el ángel y le pudo, lloró y le imploró gracia. En Betel le encontró y allí habló con nosotros.
6 yes, Yahweh, God Sabaoth, Yahweh is his title!	6 Sí, Yahveh Dios Sebaot, Yahveh es su renombre.
7 So turn back with God's help, maintain faithful love and loyalty and always put your trust in your God.	7 Y tú volverás, gracias a tu Dios: observa amor y derecho, y espera en tu Dios siempre.
8 Merchants use fraudulent scales. To defraud is his delight.	8 Canaán tiene en su mano balanzas tramposas, es amigo de explotar.
9 'How rich I have become!' says Ephraim, 'I have made a fortune.' But of al his gains he wil keepnothing because of the sin of which he is guilty.	9 Y Efraím dice: «Sí, me he enriquecido, me ha fraguado una fortuna». ¡Ninguna de sus ganancias se hallará, por el pecado de que se ha hecho culpable!
10 But I have been Yahweh your God since your days in Egypt and will make you live in tents again asin the days of Meeting.	10 Yo soy Yahveh, tu Dios, desde el país de Egipto: aún te haré morar en tiendas como en los días del Encuentro;
11 I will speak through prophets, I will give vision after vision and through the ministry of prophets wilspeak in parables.	11 hablaré a los profetas, multiplicaré las visiones, y por medio de los profetas hablaré en parábolas.
12 Is Gilead a sink of iniquity? Yes, they are a worthless lot! At Gilgal they sacrifice to bulls, that is whytheir altars are like heaps of stones in a ploughed field.	12 Si Galaad es iniquidad, ellos no son más que mentira. En Guilgal sacrifican toros; por eso sus altares serán como escombros sobre los surcos de los campos.
13 Jacob fled to the countryside of Aram, Israel slaved to win a wife, to win a wife he looked after sheep.	13 Huyó Jacob a la campiña de Aram, sirvió Israel por una mujer, por una mujer guardó rebaños.
14 By a prophet Yahweh brought Israel out of Egypt and by a prophet Israel was preserved.	14 Por un profeta subió Yahveh a Israel de Egipto, y por un profeta fue guardado.
15 Ephraim gave bitter provocation- Yahweh will bring his bloodshed down on him, his Lord wil repayhim for his insult.	15 Efraím le ha irritado amargamente: él dejará su sangre sobre él, su Señor le pagará su agravio.
