2 Chronicles 5

NEW JERUSALEM	Sacra Bibbia Garofalo
1 Thus all the work done by Solomon for the Temple of Yahweh was completed, and Solomon brought inthe gifts which his father David had consecrated; and he had the silver, the gold and all the utensils put into thetreasuries of the Temple of God.	1 Quando fu compiuto ogni lavoro che Salomone aveva fatto eseguire per il tempio di Jahvè, Salomone vi introdusse i doni votivi di David suo padre e collocò l’argento e ogni altra suppellettile nelle camere dei tesori del tempio di Dio.
2 Solomon then assembled the elders of Israel to Jerusalem, al the tribal chiefs, the princes of thefamilies of Israel, to bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh up from the City of David, that is, Zion.	2 Allora Salomone convocò a Gerusalemme gli anziani di Israele, tutti i capitribù e i principi delle casate dei figli di Israele per far salire l’arca dell’alleanza di Jahvè dalla città di David, cioè da Sion.
3 Al the men of Israel assembled round the king at the time of the feast, that is, in the seventh month.	3 Tutti gli uomini di Israele si radunarono presso il re per la festa, quella del settimo mese.
4 When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the Levites took up the ark;	4 Vennero tutti gli anziani di Israele e i Leviti trasportarono l’arca.
5 they brought up the ark and the Tent of Meeting and al the sacred utensils which were in the Tent; thelevitical priests brought them up.	5 Essi fecero salire l’arca, la Tenda del convegno e tutte le suppellettili sacre che erano nella Tenda. I sacerdoti e i Leviti li fecero salire.
6 King Solomon and the whole assembly of Israel present with him before the ark sacrificed countless,innumerable sheep and oxen.	6 Frattanto il re Salomone e tutta la comunità di Israele, che si era radunata presso di lui davanti all’arca, sacrificavano bestiame minuto e grosso che non si poteva né contare né calcolare tanto era numeroso.
7 The priests brought the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, in the Debir of the Temple, that is, inthe Holy of Holies, under the wings of the winged creatures;	7 I sacerdoti portarono l’arca dell’alleanza di Jahvè al suo posto, nella cella del tempio, cioè nel Santo dei Santi, sotto le ali dei Cherubini.
8 for they spread their wings over the place where the ark stood, forming a canopy over the ark and itsshafts.	8 I Cherubini infatti stendevano due ali sul luogo dell’arca e la coprivano dall’alto insieme con le sue stanghe.
9 The shafts were so long, however, that the ends of the shafts of the ark could be seen in front of theHoly Place in front of the Debir, though they could not be seen from outside. They are still there today.	9 Le stanghe poi erano talmente lunghe che le loro estremità erano visibili dall’aula di fronte alla cella, sebbene non potessero essere viste dal di fuori. Esse sono rimaste là fino a oggi.
10 There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets which Moses had placed in it at Horeb, whenYahweh made a covenant with the Israelites when they came out of Egypt.	10 Nell’arca c’erano solo le due tavole che Mosè aveva dato sull’Horeb, cioè le tavole dell’alleanza che Jahvè aveva concluso con i figli di Israele dopo che erano usciti dall’Egitto.
11 Now when the priests came out of the Holy Place -- for al the priests present had sanctifiedthemselves regardless of the orders to which they belonged,	11 Quando i sacerdoti ebbero lasciato il Santo, tutti i. sacerdoti che vi si trovavano si erano santificati né era stato possibile osservare il turno delle varie classi.
12 and al the levitical singers, Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun with their sons and brothers, dressed inlinen, were standing to the east of the altar with cymbals, lyres and harps and with them one hundred and twentypriests blowing the trumpets,	12 I Leviti cantori, nel loro insieme: formato da Asaf, da Heman e da Jedutun, dai figli loro e dai loro fratelli, stavano in piedi rivestiti di bisso a oriente. dell’altare con cembali, arpe e cetre. Accanto a loro c’erano anche centoventi sacerdoti, i quali suonavano le trombe.
13 and the harmony between trumpeters and singers was such that only one melody could be heard asthey praised and gave thanks to Yahweh -- and the singing began, to the accompaniment of trumpets, cymbalsand musical instruments, and they praised Yahweh 'for he is good, for his faithful love is everlasting' -- then theTemple was fil ed with the cloud of the glory of Yahweh,	13 Ed ecco, appena i trombettieri e i cantori, come una sola persona, fecero echeggiare all’unisono il loro concerto, lodando e celebrando Jahvè e facendo risuonare le trombe, i cembali e gli strumenti ‘musicali, mentre si inneggiava a Jahvè «perché buono, perché eterna è la sua clemenza», il tempio si riempì della nube della gloria di Jahvè,
14 and because of the cloud the priests could not stay and perform their duties. For the glory of Yahwehfilled the Temple of God.	14 così che i sacerdoti non poterono rimanervi a compiere il loro servizio a causa di essa; la gloria di Jahvè infatti riempiva il tempio di Dio.
