1 Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Maher-shalal-hash-baz.	1 (Et) Le Seigneur me dit : Prends un grand livre, et écris dedans, en caractères lisibles (style d'homme) : Hâtez-vous de saisir (Enlève promptement) les dépouilles, pille(z) promptement.
2 And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.	2 Et je pris des témoins fidèles, le prêtre Urie, et Zacharie, fils de Barachie ;
3 And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz.	3 et je m'approchai de la prophétesse, et elle conçut et enfanta un fils. Alors le Seigneur me dit : Donne-lui pour nom : Hâtez-vous (Hâte-toi) de saisir les dépouilles, pille(z) promptement ;
4 For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.	4 car avant que l'enfant sache nommer son père et sa mère, la puissance de Damas et les dépouilles de Samarie seront emportées devant le roi des Assyriens.
5 The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,	5 Le Seigneur me parla encore, et me dit :
6 Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;	6 Parce que ce peuple a rejeté les eaux de Siloé, qui coulent en silence, et qu'il a préféré s'appuyer sur Rasin et sur le fils de Romélie,
7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:	7 le Seigneur amènera sur lui les puissantes et grandes (abondantes) eaux du fleuve, le roi des Assyriens avec toute sa gloire ; il montera de tous côtés au-dessus de son lit, et il débordera sur toutes ses rives,
8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.	8 et il pénétrera dans Juda, inondant et se répandant, jusqu'à ce qu'on ait de l'eau jusqu'au cou. Il déploiera ses ailes et remplira l'étendue de votre (ton) pays, ô Emmanuel.
9 Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.	9 (R)Assemblez-vous, peuples, et vous serez vaincus ; écoutez, vous tous, pays éloignés ; réunissez vos forces, et vous serez vaincus ; prenez vos armes, et vous serez vaincus ;
10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.	10 formez des desseins, et ils seront dissipés ; donnez des ordres (dites une parole), et ils (elle) ne s'exécuteront(a) pas, car Dieu est avec nous.
11 For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,	11 Car ainsi m'a parlé le Seigneur me tenant de sa main puissante, et m'avertissant de ne pas marcher dans la voie de ce peuple, en disant :
12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.	12 Ne dites pas : Conjuration ; car tout ce que dit ce peuple est conjuration ; ne craignez pas ce qu'il craint, et ne vous épouvantez pas ;
13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.	13 mais sanctifiez le Seigneur des armées ; qu'il soit lui-même votre crainte (frayeur) et votre terreur,
14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	14 et il deviendra votre sanctification ; et (mais) il sera une (en) pierre d'achoppement et une (en) pierre de scandale pour les deux maisons d'Israël, un (en) piège et un (en) sujet de ruine pour les habitants de Jérusalem.
15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.	15 Et beaucoup d'entre eux trébucheront ; ils tomberont et se briseront, ils s'engageront dans le filet et seront pris.
16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.	16 Lie cet oracle (le témoignage), scelle cette révélation (la loi) parmi mes disciples.
17 And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.	17 J'attendrai donc le Seigneur qui cache son visage à la maison de Jacob, et je demeurerai dans l'attente.
18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.	18 Me voici, moi et les enfants que le Seigneur m'a donnés ; nous sommes (pour être un signe et) un présage pour (dans) Israël par l'ordre du Seigneur des armées qui habite sur la montagne de Sion.
19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?	19 Et lorsqu'ils vous diront : Consultez les magiciens (pythoniens, note) et les devins qui parlent tout bas (bruissent) dans leurs enchantements, répondez : Le peuple ne consultera-t-il pas son Dieu ? parle-t-on aux morts en faveur des (pour les) vivants ?
20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.	20 Allons (Recourez) plutôt à la loi et au témoignage. S'ils ne tiennent pas ce langage, la lumière du matin ne luira pas pour eux.
21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.	21 Ils seront errants sur la terre, ils tomberont, ils souffriront la faim, et lorsqu'ils auront faim ils s'irriteront, et ils maudiront leur roi et leur Dieu, ils tourneront les yeux en haut,
22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.	22 et ils regarderont la terre, et ils ne verront qu'affliction et ténèbres, qu'abattement et angoisse, et que (une) nuée sombre les poursuivant, et ils ne pourront pas échapper à leur angoisse.
