1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.	1 [Von David.] Preise, meine Seele, den Herrn, und alles in mir seinen heiligen Namen!
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:	2 Preise, meine Seele, den Herrn und vergiß all seine Wohltaten nicht!
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;	3 Er vergibt deine ganze Schuld, heilt alle deine Gebrechen.
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;	4 Er rettet dein Leben vor dem Grab, krönt dich mit Huld und Erbarmen.
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.	5 Er sättigt dich mit Gutem, soviel du brauchst, daß deine Jugend dem Adler gleich sich erneut.
6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.	6 Milde Gerechtigkeit übt der Herr und Recht für alle Bedrängten.
7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.	7 Moses hat er seine Wege kundgetan, den Söhnen Israels seine Werke.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.	8 Barmherzig und gnädig ist der Herr, langmütig und reich an Huld.
9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.	9 Er will nicht immerdar streiten und nicht für dauernd zürnen.
10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.	10 Er handelt nicht an uns nach unsren Sünden, vergilt uns nicht nach unsren Missetaten.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.	11 Nein, so hoch der Himmel über der Erde, so groß ist über denen, die ihn fürchten, seine Huld.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.	12 So fern der Aufgang ist vom Untergang, so weit entfernt er unsre Frevel von uns weg.
13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.	13 Wie ein Vater über seine Kinder sich erbarmt, so erbarmt der Herr sich derer, die ihn fürchten.
14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.	14 Er weiß es ja, woraus wir gebildet, er denkt daran, daß wir nur Staub sind.
15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.	15 Die Tage des Menschen sind wie Gras, wie die Blume des Feldes, so blüht er.
16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.	16 Fährt der Wind über sie, dann ist sie dahin, und ihre Stätte weiß nichts mehr von ihr.
17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;	17 Doch ewig währt die Huld des Herrn über allen, die ihn fürchten, und seine Treue noch bei Kindeskindern,
18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.	18 bei denen, die an seinen Bund sich halten und seiner Satzungen gedenken, um sie zu erfüllen.
19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.	19 Der Herr hat seinen Thron im Himmel aufgerichtet, und seine Königsmacht beherrscht das All.
20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.	20 Preiset den Herrn, ihr, seine Engel, ihr starken Helden, die ihr sein Wort vollstreckt, [da ihr auf die Stimme seines Wortes hört]!
21 Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.	21 Preiset den Herrn, all seine Heerscharen, seine Diener, die seinen Willen vollziehen!
22 Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.	22 Preiset den Herrn, all seine Werke, an jeglichem Ort seiner Herrschermacht! Preise, meine Seele, den Herrn!
