1 Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.	1 Congregou-se todo o Israel com Davide em Hebron, dizendo: Nós somos teus ossos e tua carne.
2 And moreover in time past, even when Saul was king, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD thy God said unto thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be ruler over my people Israel, and thou shalt be ruler over my people Israel.	2 Já antes, quando ainda reinava Saul, eras tu que conduzias Israel, porque a ti disse o Senhor teu Deus: Tu apascentarás o meu povo de Israel, tu serás o seu príncipe.
3 Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by Samuel.	3 Todos os anciães de Israel foram, pois, ter com o rei a Hebron. Davide fez aliança com eles diante do Senhor, e eles ungiram-no rei sobre Israel, em conformidade com a palavra que o Senhor tinha proferido por meio de Samuel.
4 And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.	4 Davide marchou com todo o Israel sobre Jerusalém, que é Jebus, onde estavam os Jebuseus, habitantes do país.
5 And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come hither. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.	5 Os que habitavam em Jebus disseram a Davide: Tu não entrarás aqui. Contudo Davide tomou a fortaleza de Sião, que é a cidade de Davide.
6 And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.	6 Davide disse: Aquele que primeiro ferir um Jebuseu será príncipe e chefe. O primeiro a subir foi Joab, filho de Sarvia, que, (por isso) foi feito chefe.
7 And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.	7 Davide habitou na fortaleza, que, por tal motivo, se chamou cidade de Davide.
8 And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.	8 Edificou a cidade ao redor, desde Melo até à outra extremidade: Joab reparou o resto da cidade.
9 So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.	9 Davide fazia progressos, adiantando-se e fortalecendo-se, e o Senhor dos exércitos era com ele.
10 These also are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, and with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.	10 São estes os principais entre os homens fortes de Davide, que o ajudaram no seu reinado sobre todo de o Israel, segundo a palavra que o Senhor tinha dito a Israel.
11 And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, and Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at one time.	11 Este é o número dos valentes de Davide: Jesbaão, filho de Hacamoni, chefe dos trinta. Este levantou a sua lança sobre trezentos, que feriu duma só vez.
12 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighties.	12 Depois deste, Eleazar Aoíta, filho de Dodo, era um dos três valentes.
13 He was with David at Pas-dammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.	13 Este achou-se com Davide em Fesdomim, quando os Filisteus se juntaram ali para dar batalha. Os campos daquela região estavam cheios de cevada, e o povo tinha fugido diante dos Filisteus,
14 And they set themselves in the midst of that parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great deliverance.	14 mas estes (Eleazar e Sema) conservaram-se firmes no meio do campo e defenderam-no; tendo destroçado os Filisteus, deu o Senhor uma grande vitória ao seu povo.
15 Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.	15 Três dos trinta príncipes desceram à rocha, onde estava Davide, junto da caverna de Odolão quando os Filisteus tinham acampado no vale de Refain.
16 And David was then in the hold, and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.	16 Davide estava na fortaleza, e uma guarnição de Filisteus estava em Belém.
17 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate!	17 Davide teve então um desejo e disse: Oh! quem me dera água da cisterna de Belém, que está junto da porta (da cidade)!
18 And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD,	18 Imediatamente estes três homens atravessaram pelo meio do acampamento dos Filisteus, tiraram água da cisterna de Belém, que estava junto da porta, e levaram-na a Davide, para que bebesse; ele não a quis beber, mas antes a ofereceu em libação ao Senhor,
19 And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mightiest.	19 dizendo: Longe de mim que eu tal faça na presença do meu Deus, que beba o sangue destes homens! De facto trouxeram-me água com perigo das suas vidas. Por esta causa, não a quis beber. Isto fizeram aqueles três valentíssimos.
20 And Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three: for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a name among the three.	20 Abisai, irmão de Joab, era o primeiro dos outros três. Também ele levantou a sua lança contra trezentos, que matou, e era o mais famoso entre os três.
21 Of the three, he was more honourable than the two; for he was their captain: howbeit he attained not to the first three.	21 Era o mais notável dentre os três do segundo terno, e seu chefe, todavia nunca igualou os três primeiros.
22 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he slew two lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and slew a lion in a pit in a snowy day.	22 Banaias, (natural) de Cabseel, filho de Jojada, homem valentíssimo que se assinalou em grandes feitos, matou os dois Arieis (ou grandes leões) de Moab. (Um dia) desceu e matou um leão no meio duma cisterna em tempo de neve.
23 And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.	23 Matou também um Egípcio, cuja estatura era de cinco côvados, e tinha uma lança como o órgão do tear dos tecelões. Foi contra ele com um pau, tirou-lhe a lança que tinha na mão, e com esta mesma lança o matou.
24 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among the three mighties.	24 Estas coisas fez Banalaa, filho de Jojada, que era o mais afamado entre os três valentes,
25 Behold, he was honourable among the thirty, but attained not to the first three: and David set him over his guard.	25 o principal entre os trinta; todavia não igualava os três primeiros. Davide o admitiu para seu conselheiro íntimo.
26 Also the valiant men of the armies were, Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
27 Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,	27 Samot de Arori, Heles de Falon,
28 Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abi-ezer the Antothite,	28 Ira de Técua, filho de Aces, Abiezer de Anatot,
29 Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,	29 Sobocai de Husat, Ilai de Aó,
30 Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,	30 Maarai de Netofat, Heled, filho de Baana de Netofat,
31 Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah, that pertained to the children of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,	31 Etai, filho de Ribai de Gabaa da tribo de Benjamim, Banaia de Faraton,
32 Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,	32 Hurai da torrente de Gaas, Abiel de Harbat, Azmot de Baurami, Eliab de Salaboni;
33 Azmaveth the Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite,	33 Bené-Assen Gezonita, Jonatan filho de Sage de Arari,
34 The sons of Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shage the Hararite,	34 Aião filho de Sacar de Axari,
35 Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,	35 Elifal filho de Ur,
36 Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite,	36 Efer de Mecerat, Aia de Felon,
37 Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the son of Ezbai,	37 Hesro do Carmelo. Naarai, filho de Asbal,
38 Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Haggeri,	38 Joel, irmão de Natan, Mibaar, filho de Agaral,

44 Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jehiel the sons of Hothan the Aroerite,	44 Ozias Astarotita, Sama e Jeiel, filhos de Hotão de Arori,
45 Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite,	45 Jediel, filho de Samri, Joa, seu irmão, de Tosa,
46 Eliel the Mahavite, and Jeribai, and Joshaviah, the sons of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite,	46 Eliel de Maumi, Jeribal e Josaia, filhos de Elnaem, Jetma de Moab, Eliel, Obed e Jeslel de Masobia.
