| 1 En cuanto a la colecta en beneficio de los santos de Jerusalén, sigan las mismas instrucciones que di a las Iglesias de Galacia. | 1 Now concerning the contribution for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do. |
| 2 El primer día de la semana, cada uno de ustedes guarde en su casa lo que haya podido ahorrar, para que las donaciones no se recojan solamente a mi llegada. | 2 On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that contributions need not be made when I come. |
| 3 Una vez allí, enviaré a los que ustedes hayan elegido, para que lleven a Jerusalén esas donaciones con una carta de recomendación. | 3 And when I arrive, I will send those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem. |
| 4 Si conviene que yo también vaya, ellos viajarán conmigo. | 4 If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me. |

| 8 Mientras tanto, permaneceré en Efeso hasta Pentecostés, | 8 But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost, |
| 9 ya que se ha abierto una gran puerta para mi predicación, aunque los adversarios son numerosos. | 9 for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. |
| 10 Si llega antes Timoteo, procuren que permanezca entre ustedes sin ninguna clase de temor, porque él trabaja en la obra del Señor de la misma manera que yo. | 10 When Timothy comes, see that you put him at ease among you, for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am. |
| 11 Que nadie lo menosprecie. Ofrézcanle los medios necesarios para que se reúna conmigo, porque yo lo estoy esperando con los hermanos. | 11 So let no one despise him. Speed him on his way in peace, that he may return to me; for I am expecting him with the brethren. |
| 12 En cuanto a nuestro hermano Apolo, le insistí mucho para que fuera a visitarlos junto con los hermanos, pero él se negó rotundamente a hacerlo por ahora: irá cuando se le presente la ocasión. | 12 As for our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brethren, but it was not at all his will to come now. He will come when he has opportunity. |
| 13 Estén atentos, permanezcan firmes en la fe, compórtense varonilmente, sean fuertes. | 13 Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. |
| 14 Todo lo que hagan, háganlo con amor. | 14 Let all that you do be done in love. |
| 15 Una recomendación más, hermanos. Ustedes saben que Estéfanas y su familia –los primeros que abrazaron la fe en Acaya– han decidido consagrase al servicio de los hermanos. | 15 Now, brethren, you know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints; |
| 16 Por eso, les ruego que ustedes, a su vez, sean solícitos con ellos, y no sólo con ellos, sino con todos los que colaboran en sus trabajos y esfuerzos. | 16 I urge you to be subject to such men and to every fellow worker and laborer. |
| 17 Yo me alegré con la visita de Estéfanas, de Fortunato y de Acaico. Ellos llenaron el vacío que ustedes habían dejado, | 17 I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have made up for your absence; |
