Oseas 12

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Efraím me ha rodeado de mentira y la casa de Israel, de falsedad. –Pero Judá está todavía cerca de Dios y se mantiene fiel al muy Santo–.	1 Ephraim besieges me with lying, the House of Israel with duplicity. (But Judah stil is on God's side, heis faithful to the Holy One.)
2 Efraím se apacienta de viento y corre todo el día tras el viento del este; multiplica el fraude y la devastación; hacen una alianza con Asiria y llevan aceite a Egipto.	2 Ephraim feeds himself on wind, all day he chases the wind from the East, he heaps up cheating andviolence; they make a treaty with Assyria, at the same time sending oil to Egypt.
3 El Señor tiene un pleito con Israel, pedirá a Jacob de su conducta, le retribuirá según sus acciones.	3 Yahweh has a case against Judah, he will punish Jacob as his conduct merits, he will repay him as hisdeeds deserve.
4 En el seno materno suplantó a su hermano y cuando fue adulto luchó con Dios.	4 In the very womb he overreached his brother, in maturity he wrestled against God.
5 Luchó con el Angel y venció, lloró y le imploró. En Betel lo encontró, y allí Dios habló con él.	5 He wrestled with the angel and beat him, he wept and pleaded with him. He met him at Bethel andthere God spoke to us-
6 –¡El Señor es el Dios de los ejércitos: «el Señor» es su nombre!–.	6 yes, Yahweh, God Sabaoth, Yahweh is his title!
7 Tú volverás con la ayuda de tu Dios: observa la fidelidad y la rectitud, y espera siempre en tu Dios.	7 So turn back with God's help, maintain faithful love and loyalty and always put your trust in your God.
8 Canaán tiene en su mano balanzas falsas, le gusta defraudar.	8 Merchants use fraudulent scales. To defraud is his delight.
9 Efraím dijo: «Sí, yo me enriquecí, he amasado una fortuna; pero en todas mis ganancias, no encontrarán en mí ningún delito que sea pecado».	9 'How rich I have become!' says Ephraim, 'I have made a fortune.' But of al his gains he wil keepnothing because of the sin of which he is guilty.
10 Yo soy el Señor, tu Dios, desde el país de Egipto: te haré habitar de nuevo en carpas, como en los días del Encuentro.	10 But I have been Yahweh your God since your days in Egypt and will make you live in tents again asin the days of Meeting.
11 Yo hablaré a los profetas y multiplicaré las visiones, y por medio de los profetas, hablaré en parábolas.	11 I will speak through prophets, I will give vision after vision and through the ministry of prophets wilspeak in parables.
12 Galaad es pura falsedad, ellos se han convertido en nada; en Guilgal sacrifican toros: así sus altares serán como un montón de piedras sobre los surcos del campo.	12 Is Gilead a sink of iniquity? Yes, they are a worthless lot! At Gilgal they sacrifice to bulls, that is whytheir altars are like heaps of stones in a ploughed field.
13 Jacob huyó a los campos de Aram. Israel sirvió por una mujer y por una mujer, cuidó los rebaños.	13 Jacob fled to the countryside of Aram, Israel slaved to win a wife, to win a wife he looked after sheep.
14 Pero, por un profeta, el Señor hizo subir a Israel de Egipto, y por un profeta él fue protegido.	14 By a prophet Yahweh brought Israel out of Egypt and by a prophet Israel was preserved.
15 Efraím apenó a Dios amargamente: su Señor arrojará sobre él la sangre vertida, y le devolverá sus agravios.	15 Ephraim gave bitter provocation- Yahweh will bring his bloodshed down on him, his Lord wil repayhim for his insult.
