1 And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given the key of the shaft of the bottomless pit;	1 Il quinto angelo sonò la tuba; e vidi la stella esser caduta dal cielo in terra, e a lui è data la chiave dal pozzo dell' abisso.
2 he opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft.	2 E aperse il pozzo dell' abisso; e ascendette il fumo del pozzo, come fumo della grande fornace; e fu oscurato il sole e l'aera dal fumo del pozzo.
3 Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth;	3 E dal fumo del pozzo uscirono locuste in terra; ed è data possanza a quelle, come hanno li scorpioni della terra.
4 they were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green growth or any tree, but only those of mankind who have not the seal of God upon their foreheads;	4 E fu comandato a quelle, che non nocessero all' erba della terra, nè alcuna cosa verde, nè alcuno arbore; se non solamente agli uomini che non hanno il segno di Dio nelle fronti.
5 they were allowed to torture them for five months, but not to kill them, and their torture was like the torture of a scorpion, when it stings a man.	5 E fu detto a quelle, che non gli uccidessero, ma che gli cruciassero mesi cinque; e il cruciamento suo, come cruciamento di scorpioni quando feriscono l'uomo.
6 And in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death will fly from them.	6 E in quelli di gli uomini cercheranno la morte, e non la troveranno; e desidereranno di morire, e la morte fuggirà da loro.
7 In appearance the locusts were like horses arrayed for battle; on their heads were what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were like human faces,	7 E le similitudini delle locuste, simili alli cavalli apparecchiati alla battaglia; e sopra li capi suoi come corone simili all' auro; e le faccie sue come faccie di uomini.
8 their hair like women's hair, and their teeth like lions' teeth;	8 E avevano capilli come capilli delle femine; e li suoi denti erano come denti di leoni.
9 they had scales like iron breastplates, and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots with horses rushing into battle.	9 E avevano panciere come panciere di ferro; e la voce delle sue ale come voce di carrette di molti cavalli che corrano alla battaglia.
10 They have tails like scorpions, and stings, and their power of hurting men for five months lies in their tails.	10 E avevano le code simili alli scorpioni, e nelle sue code erano stimuli pungenti; e la sua possanza a nuocere alli uomini, cinque mesi.
11 They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.	11 E avevano sopra di loro un re, l'angelo dell' abisso, il quale ha nome in ebreo Abaddon, e in greco Apollion, e in latino Esterminante.
12 The first woe has passed; behold, two woes are still to come.	12 Uno guai se n' andò, ed ecco ch' egli viene ancora duo guai dopo questo.
13 Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar before God,	13 E il sesto angelo sonò la tromba; e udii una voce da uno de' quattro corni dell' altare di auro, il quale è dinanzi agli occhi di Dio,
14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates."	14 dicente al sesto angelo che aveva la tromba: dislega li quattro angeli li quali sono legati nel grande fiume di Eufrate.
15 So the four angels were released, who had been held ready for the hour, the day, the month, and the year, to kill a third of mankind.	15 E furono dislegati li quattro angeli, che erano apparecchiati, ora e dì, e mese e anno, di uccidere la terza parte de' uomini.
16 The number of the troops of cavalry was twice ten thousand times ten thousand; I heard their number.	16 E il numero dell' esercito de' cavalli venti milia volte dieci milia. Udii il numero di loro.
17 And this was how I saw the horses in my vision: the riders wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphire and of sulphur, and the heads of the horses were like lions' heads, and fire and smoke and sulphur issued from their mouths.	17 E così vidi i cavalli in visione; e quelli che sedevano sopra di loro, avevano panciere di fuoco, di aiere e solfore; e li (suoi) capi de' cavalli erano come capi di leoni; e di loro bocca usciva fuoco, fumo e solfore.
18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed, by the fire and smoke and sulphur issuing from their mouths.	18 E di queste tre piaghe fu uccisa la terza parte de' uomini, di fuoco, fumo e solfore, che procedeva della bocca sua.
19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; their tails are like serpents, with heads, and by means of them they wound.	19 E loro potenza è in bocca, e in loro code. Etiam loro code sono simili alli serpenti, e hanno capi, e in quelli nocono.
20 The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshipping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot either see or hear or walk;	20 E tutti li altri uomini, li quali non sono uccisi in queste piaghe, non hanno fatto penitenza delle opere delle sue mani, acciò non adorassero demoni, nè idoli d'oro e argento, e di rame e di pietra e di legno, li quali non possono vedere nè udire nè andare.
21 nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their immorality or their thefts.	21 E non hanno fatto penitenza delli suoi omicidii, e delli suoi veneni, nè della sua fornicazione, nè de' furti suoi.
