1 "And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: 'The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. "'I know your works; you have the name of being alive, and you are dead.	1 "A l'Ange de l'Eglise de Sardes, écris: Ainsi parle celui qui possède les sept Esprits de Dieu etles sept étoiles. Je connais ta conduite; tu passes pour vivant, mais tu es mort.
2 Awake, and strengthen what remains and is on the point of death, for I have not found your works perfect in the sight of my God.	2 Réveille-toi, ranime ce qui te reste de vie défaillante! Non, je n'ai pas trouvé ta vie bien pleineaux yeux de mon Dieu.
3 Remember then what you received and heard; keep that, and repent. If you will not awake, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come upon you.	3 Allons! rappelle-toi comment tu accueillis la parole; garde-la et repens-toi. Car si tu ne veillespas, je viendrai comme un voleur sans que tu saches à quelle heure je te surprendrai.
4 Yet you have still a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white, for they are worthy.	4 A Sardes, néanmoins, quelques-uns des tiens n'ont pas souillé leurs vêtements; ilsm'accompagneront, en blanc, car ils en sont dignes.
5 He who conquers shall be clad thus in white garments, and I will not blot his name out of the book of life; I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.	5 Le vainqueur sera donc revêtu de blanc; et son nom, je ne l'effacerai pas du livre de vie, maisj'en répondrai devant mon Père et devant ses Anges.
6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'	6 Celui qui a des oreilles, qu'il entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises.
7 "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: 'The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one shall shut, who shuts and no one opens.	7 "A l'Ange de l'Eglise de Philadelphie, écris: Ainsi parle le Saint, le Vrai, celui qui détient la clefde David: s'il ouvre, nul ne fermera, et s'il ferme, nul n'ouvrira.
8 "'I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut; I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.	8 Je connais ta conduite: voici, j'ai ouvert devant toi une porte que nul ne peut fermer, et,disposant pourtant de peu de puissance, tu as gardé ma parole sans renier mon nom.
9 Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie--behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and learn that I have loved you.	9 Voici, je forcerai ceux de la Synagogue de Satan - ils usurpent la qualité de Juifs, les menteurs--, oui, je les forcerai à venir se prosterner devant tes pieds, à reconnaître que je t'ai aimé.
10 Because you have kept my word of patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial which is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell upon the earth.	10 Puisque tu as gardé ma consigne de constance, à mon tour je te garderai de l'heure de l'épreuvequi va fondre sur le monde entier pour éprouver les habitants de la terre.
11 I am coming soon; hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.	11 Mon retour est proche: tiens ferme ce que tu as, pour que nul ne ravisse ta couronne.
12 He who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God; never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.	12 Le vainqueur, je le ferai colonne dans le temple de mon Dieu; il n'en sortira plus jamais et jegraverai sur lui le nom de mon Dieu, et le nom de la Cité de mon Dieu, la nouvelle Jérusalem qui descend duCiel, de chez mon Dieu, et le nom nouveau que je porte.
13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'	13 Celui qui a des oreilles, qu'il entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises.
14 "And to the angel of the church in La-odicea write: 'The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's creation.	14 "A l'Ange de l'Eglise de Laodicée, écris: Ainsi parle l'Amen, le Témoin fidèle et vrai, lePrincipe de la création de Dieu.
15 "'I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot!	15 Je connais ta conduite: tu n'es ni froid ni chaud - que n'es-tu l'un ou l'autre! --
16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.	16 Ainsi, puisque te voilà tiède, ni chaud ni froid, je vais te vomir de ma bouche.
17 For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing; not knowing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.	17 Tu t'imagines: me voilà riche, je me suis enrichi et je n'ai besoin de rien; mais tu ne le voisdonc pas: c'est toi qui es malheureux, pitoyable, pauvre, aveugle et nu!
18 Therefore I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may be rich, and white garments to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nakedness from being seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.	18 Aussi, suis donc mon conseil: achète chez moi de l'or purifié au feu pour t'enrichir; des habitsblancs pour t'en revêtir et cacher la honte de ta nudité; un collyre enfin pour t'en oindre les yeux et recouvrer lavue.
19 Those whom I love, I reprove and chasten; so be zealous and repent.	19 Ceux que j'aime, je les semonce et les corrige. Allons! Un peu d'ardeur, et repens-toi!
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.	20 Voici, je me tiens à la porte et je frappe; si quelqu'un entend ma voix et ouvre la porte,j'entrerai chez lui pour souper, moi près de lui et lui près de moi.
21 He who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.	21 Le vainqueur, je lui donnerai de siéger avec moi sur mon trône, comme moi-même, après mavictoire, j'ai siégé avec mon Père sur son trône.
22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'"	22 Celui qui a des oreilles, qu'il entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises."
