1 THE revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants what must soon take place; and he made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,	1 LA Rivelazione di Gesù Cristo, la quale Iddio gli ha data, per far sapere a’ suoi servitori le cose che debbono avvenire in breve tempo; ed egli l’ha dichiarata, avendola mandata per il suo angelo, a Giovanni, suo servitore.
2 who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.	2 Il quale ha testimoniato della parola di Dio, e della testimonianza di Gesù Cristo, e di tutte le cose che egli ha vedute
3 Blessed is he who reads aloud the words of the prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written therein; for the time is near.	3 Beato chi legge, e beati coloro che ascoltano le parole di questa profezia, e serbano le cose che in essa sono scritte; perciocchè il tempo è vicino.
4 John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne,	4 GIOVANNI, alle sette chiese, che son nell’Asia: Grazia a voi, e pace, da colui che è, e che era, e che ha da venire; e da’ sette spiriti, che son davanti al suo trono;
5 and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the first-born of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood	5 e da Gesù Cristo, il fedel testimonio, il primogenito dai morti, e il principe dei re della terra. Ad esso, che ci ha amati, e ci ha lavati de’ nostri peccati col suo sangue;
6 and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.	6 e ci ha fatti re, e sacerdoti, a Dio suo Padre; sia la gloria e l’imperio, ne’ secoli de’ secoli. Amen.
7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, every one who pierced him; and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.	7 Ecco, egli viene con le nuvole, ed ogni occhio lo vedrà, eziandio quelli che l’hanno trafitto: e tutte le nazioni della terra faran cordoglio per lui. Sì, Amen.
8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.	8 Io son l’Alfa, e l’Omega; il principio, e la fine, dice il Signore Iddio, che è, e che era, e che ha da venire, l’Onnipotente
9 I John, your brother, who share with you in Jesus the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.	9 IO Giovanni, che son vostro fratello, ed insieme compagno nell’afflizione, e nel regno, e nella sofferenza di Cristo Gesù, era nell’isola chiamata Patmo, per la parola di Dio, e per la testimonianza di Gesù Cristo.
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet	10 Io era in ispirito nel giorno della Domenica; e udii dietro a me una gran voce, come d’una tromba, che diceva:
11 saying, "Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to La-odicea."	11 Io son l’Alfa, e l’Omega; il primo, e l’ultimo; e: Ciò che tu vedi scrivilo in un libro, e mandalo alle sette chiese, che sono in Asia: ad Efeso, ed a Smirna, ed a Pergamo, ed a Tiatiri, ed a Sardi, ed a Filadelfia, ed a Laodicea.
12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands,	12 Ed io in quello mi rivoltai, per veder la voce che avea parlato meco; e rivoltomi, vidi sette candellieri d’oro.
13 and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden girdle round his breast;	13 E in mezzo di que’ sette candellieri, uno, simigliante ad un figliuol d’uomo, vestito d’una vesta lunga fino a’ piedi, e cinto d’una cintura d’oro all’altezza del seno.
14 his head and his hair were white as white wool, white as snow; his eyes were like a flame of fire,	14 E il suo capo, e i suoi capelli eran candidi come lana bianca, a guisa di neve; e i suoi occhi somigliavano una fiamma di fuoco.
15 his feet were like burnished bronze, refined as in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of many waters;	15 E i suoi piedi eran simili a del calcolibano, a guisa che fossero stati infocati in una fornace; e la sua voce era come il suono di molte acque.
16 in his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth issued a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength.	16 Ed egli avea nella sua man destra sette stelle; e della sua bocca usciva una spada a due tagli, acuta; e il suo sguardo era come il sole, quando egli risplende nella sua forza.
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand upon me, saying, "Fear not, I am the first and the last,	17 E quando io l’ebbi veduto, caddi ai suoi piedi come morto. Ed egli mise la sua man destra sopra me, dicendomi: Non temere; io sono il primo, e l’ultimo;
18 and the living one; I died, and behold I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.	18 e quel che vive; e sono stato morto, ma ecco, son vivente ne’ secoli de’ secoli, Amen; ed ho le chiavi della morte, e dell’inferno.
19 Now write what you see, what is and what is to take place hereafter.	19 Scrivi adunque le cose che tu hai vedute, e quelle che sono, e quelle che saranno da ora innanzi;
20 As for the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.	20 il misterio delle sette stelle, che tu hai vedute sopra la mia destra, e quello de’ sette candellieri d’oro. Le sette stelle son gli angeli delle sette chiese; e i sette candellieri, che tu hai veduti, sono le sette chiese
