2 Thessalonians 3

1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed on and triumph, as it did among you,	1 Egyébként, testvérek, imádkozzatok értünk, hogy az Úr igéje, amint nálatok is, terjedjen és dicsőségre jusson,

6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is living in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us.	6 Ugyanakkor Urunk, Jézus Krisztus nevében meghagyjuk nektek, testvérek, hogy tartsátok távol magatokat minden olyan testvértől, aki rendetlenül él, és nem a szerint a hagyomány szerint, amelyet tőlünk kapott.
7 For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us; we were not idle when we were with you,	7 Jól tudjátok, miként kell minket követni, éspedig abban, hogy nem viselkedtünk köztetek rendetlenül,
8 we did not eat any one's bread without paying, but with toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not burden any of you.	8 nem ettük ingyen senki kenyerét, hanem megdolgoztunk érte, fáradsággal, éjjel-nappal munkálkodva, hogy ne legyünk terhére egyikteknek sem.
9 It was not because we have not that right, but to give you in our conduct an example to imitate.	9 Nem mintha nem lett volna jogunk hozzá, hanem hogy magunkat követendő példakép gyanánt állítsuk elétek.
10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this command: If any one will not work, let him not eat.	10 Amikor ugyanis még nálatok voltunk, meghagytuk nektek, hogy aki nem akar dolgozni, ne is egyék.
11 For we hear that some of you are living in idleness, mere busybodies, not doing any work.	11 Hallottuk azonban, hogy egyesek izgágán élnek köztetek, nem dolgoznak semmit, és hiábavalóságokkal töltik idejüket.
12 Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work in quietness and to earn their own living.	12 Az ilyeneknek meghagyjuk, és könyörgünk nekik az Úr Jézus Krisztus nevében, hogy csöndben munkálkodva, a saját kenyerüket egyék.
13 Brethren, do not be weary in well-doing.	13 Ti pedig testvérek, ne hagyjatok fel a jócselekedetekkel!
14 If any one refuses to obey what we say in this letter, note that man, and have nothing to do with him, that he may be ashamed.	14 Ha valaki nem engedelmeskedik levélben megírt szavunknak, azt tartsátok számon, és kerüljétek a társaságát, hadd szégyellje magát.
15 Do not look on him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.	15 De azért ne tekintsétek ellenségnek, hanem úgy feddjétek meg, mint testvért.
16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with you all.	16 A békesség Ura adjon nektek örök békességet mindenhol! Az Úr legyen mindnyájatokkal!
17 I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. This is the mark in every letter of mine; it is the way I write.	17 Én Pál, a saját kezemmel írom az üdvözlést. Minden levelemben ez az ismertetőjel. Így írok.
