2 Corinthians 6

1 Working together with him, then, we entreat you not to accept the grace of God in vain.	1 Or, come cooperatori, vi esortiamo a non ricevere invano la grazia di Dio.
2 For he says, "At the acceptable time I have listened to you, and helped you on the day of salvation." Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.	2 Dice Egli infatti: T'ho esaudito, nel tempo propizio e nel giorno della salvezza ti ho soccorso. Ecco ora il tempo propizio, ecco ora il giorno della salute.
3 We put no obstacle in any one's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,	3 Noi non diamo motivo di scandalo a nessuno, affinchè non sia vituperato il nostro ministero,
4 but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities,	4 ma ci diportiamo in ogni cosa come ministri di Dio, con molta pazienza nelle tribolazioni, nelle necessità, nelle angustie.
5 beatings, imprisonments, tumults, labors, watching, hunger;	5 Sotto le battiture, nelle prigionie, nelle sedizioni, nelle fatiche, nelle vigilie, nei digiuni,
6 by purity, knowledge, forbearance, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love,	6 con purezza, con scienza, con longanimità, con soavità, con Spirito Santo, con carità non simulata,
7 truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;	7 con la parola della verità, con la virtù di Dio, colle armi della giustizia a destra e a sinistra;
8 in honor and dishonor, in ill repute and good repute. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true;	8 in mezzo alla gloria e all'ignominia, alla cattiva e alla buona fama; siamo trattati come seduttori e siam veraci; come ignoti, e siam ben conosciuti;
9 as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as punished, and yet not killed;	9 come moribondi, ed ecco viviamo; siam stimati castigati, ma non siam messi a morte;
10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything.	10 melanconici e siam sempre allegri; poveri, ma ne arricchiamo tanti; possessori di niente, e invece possediamo ogni cosa.
11 Our mouth is open to you, Corinthians; our heart is wide.	11 Per voi, o Corinti, la nostra bocca è aperta, il nostro cuore è dilatato,
12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted in your own affections.	12 e voi non ci state stretti, mentre si è ristretto il vostro cuore.
13 In return--I speak as to children--widen your hearts also.	13 Rendeteci il contraccambio (parlo come a figlioli), allargate anche il vostro cuore.
14 Do not be mismated with unbelievers. For what partnership have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?	14 Non vi attaccate a un medesimo giogo con gli infedeli. Qual società ci può essere fra la giustizia e l'iniquità? O qual comunanza tra la luce e le tenebre?
15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?	15 E qual parte tra Cristo e Belial? E qual relazione tra il fedele e l'infedele?
16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will live in them and move among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.	16 E qual compatibilità fra il tempio di Dio e gl'idoli? Voi siete il tempio del Dio vivente, come dice Dio: Abiterò in essi, e camminerò in mezzo a loro, e sarò loro Dio, ed essi saranno mio popolo.
17 Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you,	17 Perciò uscite di mezzo ad essi e separate vene (dice il Signore) e non toccate l'immondo,
18 and I will be a father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."	18 ed io vi accoglierò e vi sarò padre, e voi mi sarete figli e figlie, dice il Signore onnipotente.
