Romans 10

1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.	1 Fratelli, il desiderio del mio cuore e la preghiera a Dio per essi tendono alla loro salvezza.
2 I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but it is not enlightened.	2 Do infatti loro atto che hanno zelo per Dio, ma non secondo una retta conoscenza.
3 For, being ignorant of the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.	3 Non volendo infatti riconoscere la giustizia di Dio e cercando di far sussistere la propria, non si sono sottomessi alla giustizia di Dio.
4 For Christ is the end of the law, that every one who has faith may be justified.	4 Infatti il culmine della legge è Cristo, per portare la giustificazione a ognuno che crede.
5 Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on the law shall live by it.	5 Mosè infatti scrive riguardo alla giustizia quale proviene dalla legge: L'uomo che la metterà in pratica vivrà in essa.
6 But the righteousness based on faith says, Do not say in your heart, "Who will ascend into heaven?" (that is, to bring Christ down)	6 La giustizia invece che viene dalla fede dice così: Non dire in cuor tuo: Chi salirà al cielo? nel senso di farne scendere Cristo.
7 or "Who will descend into the abyss?" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).	7 Oppure: Chi scenderà nell'abisso? nel senso di far risalire Cristo dai morti.
8 But what does it say? The word is near you, on your lips and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach);	8 Ma che dice? La parola è vicino a te, nella tua bocca e nel tuo cuore. E questa è la parola della fede che noi proclamiamo:
9 because, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.	9 se tu professerai con la tua bocca Gesù come Signore, e crederai nel tuo cuore che Dio lo ha risuscitato da morte, sarai salvato.
10 For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved.	10 Col cuore infatti si crede per ottenere la giustificazione, con la bocca si fa la professione per ottenere la salvezza.
11 The scripture says, "No one who believes in him will be put to shame."	11 Dice infatti la Scrittura: Chiunque crederà in lui non rimarrà confuso.
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and bestows his riches upon all who call upon him.	12 Infatti non c'è distinzione tra Giudei e Greci: poiché lo stesso è il Signore di tutti e spande le sue ricchezze su tutti coloro che lo invocano,
13 For, "every one who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved."	13 e chiunque avrà invocato il nome del Signore sarà salvato.
14 But how are men to call upon him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher?	14 Ma come avrebbero potuto invocare uno nel quale non credettero? Come avrebbero potuto credere in uno che non udirono? Come potrebbero aver udito senza uno che annuncia?
15 And how can men preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach good news!"	15 Come avrebbero potuto annunciare se non fossero stati inviati? Come sta scritto: Quanto belli sono i piedi di coloro che portano il buon annuncio del bene! Ma non tutti obbedirono al buon annuncio.
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel; for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?"	16 Isaia infatti dice: Signore, chi mai credette alla nostra predicazione?
17 So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes by the preaching of Christ.	17 Ora la fede dipende dalla predicazione, la predicazione si realizza per mezzo della parola di Cristo.
18 But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have; for "Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world."	18 Ma io dico: non hanno forse udito? Tutt'altro: La loro voce ha risuonato su tutta la terra, le loro parole sono giunte fino ai confini della terra abitata.
19 Again I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, "I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry."	19 Però domando: Israele non ha forse compreso? Mosè per primo dice: Io provocherò la vostra gelosia nei riguardi di una non-nazione, ecciterò il vostro dispetto nei riguardi di una nazione insensata.
20 Then Isaiah is so bold as to say, "I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me."	20 Isaia, poi, osa aggiungere: Sono stato trovato da quelli che non mi cercavano, sono divenuto manifesto a quelli che non mi interrogavano.
21 But of Israel he says, "All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people."	21 Invece riguardo a Israele dice: Per tutto il giorno stesi le mie mani a un popolo che disubbidiva e si ribellava.
