1 Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.	1 (In quelli dì addivenne che) Pietro e Giovanni (andarono e) salirono al tempio in su l'ora di nona a orare.
2 And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at that gate of the temple which is called Beautiful to ask alms of those who entered the temple.	2 E pervenuti che furono alla porta del tempio, la quale si chiamava Speciosa, trovorono uno zoppo (e sciancato) il quale era così nato, e quivi (stava ed) era posto per domandare limosina a quelli ch' entrasseno nel tempio.
3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked for alms.	3 Questo, veggendo gli apostoli entrare nel tempio, domandò loro elemosina.
4 And Peter directed his gaze at him, with John, and said, "Look at us."	4 Allora Pietro, mirandolo insieme con Giovanni, sì li disse: guarda noi.
5 And he fixed his attention upon them, expecting to receive something from them.	5 Ed egli guardava, sperando ricevere qualche cosa da quegli.
6 But Peter said, "I have no silver and gold, but I give you what I have; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."	6 Allora disse Pietro: argento e oro non ho da darti, ma io ti dò di quello che io ho nel nome di Iesù [Cristo] Nazareno, sta su, e va (sano e ritto).
7 And he took him by the right hand and raised him up; and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.	7 E prendendolo per la mano diritta, sì lo levò suso in piedi, e incontanente furono fermati li suoi piedi e piante.
8 And leaping up he stood and walked and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.	8 E saltando fuori, stette e andò; ed entrò con loro nel tempio, e lodava e ringraziava Dio.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God,	9 E tutto il popolo il vide (così liberato) andare e ringraziare Dio.
10 and recognized him as the one who sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.	10 E conoscendo la gente ch' egli era quello che stare solea accattando alla porta, meravigliavansi molto di quello ch' era avvenuto.
11 While he clung to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the portico called Solomons, astounded.	11 E vedendo li predetti apostoli al portico di Salomone, corsero a loro per far loro reverenza.
12 And when Peter saw it he addressed the people, "Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we had made him walk?	12 E ciò vedendo Pietro, disse al popolo : 0 voi, uomini d' Israel, come vi meravigliate di noi e mirateci, come se noi per nostra virtù (e bontà) avessimo drizzato questo zoppo (e guaritolo) e fattolo andare? (Questo non è per nostra virtù).
13 The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him.	13 Ma Dio di Abraam e di Isaac e di Iacob Dio de' nostri padri, ha glorificato il suo Figliuolo Iesù, il quale voi prendeste e negaste dinanzi la faccia di Pilato, giudicando egli (e volendo) che fusse lassato.
14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,	14 Ma voi (come iniqui) negaste lui santo e giusto, e domandaste che fusse lassato Barabba omicidiale.
15 and killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.	15 E Iesù autore (e datore) di vita uccideste; ma Dio lo resuscitò da morte, e noi ne siamo testimonii.
16 And his name, by faith in his name, has made this man strong whom you see and know; and the faith which is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all.	16 E in fede del suo nome, questo infermo ha recevuta sanità da noi.
17 "And now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers.	17 Ma io so, fratelli miei, che (il detto maleficio d'uccidere Cristo) faceste per ignoranza, come li vostri principi.
18 But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.	18 Ma Dio, il quale prenunziò (e predisse) che il suo Figliuolo Iesù doveva ricevere passione, volse compire le profezie (per questo modo).
19 Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,	19 Pentitevi adunque, e convertitevi, acciò che vi siano perdonati li vostri peccati;
20 and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,	20 sì che così giustificati abbiate speranza, venendo li tempi del refrigerio (cioè del giudizio, quando li buoni saranno. mandati all' eterno refrigerio), e Dio Padre mandarà Iesù Cristo dal suo conspetto a giudicare;
21 whom heaven must receive until the time for establishing all that God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old.	21 il quale ora è salito in cielo, e staravvi insino al tempo della resurrezione di tutto l' universo mondo, secondo che Dio predisse per molti suoi antichi profeti.
22 Moses said, 'The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet from your brethren as he raised me up. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you.	22 Onde (di Cristo profetando) Moisè (a' giudei) disse sappiate che Dio vi manderà uno profeta (dopo la mia morte) de' vostri fratelli; udite ciò ch' egli vi dirà, come fate me.
23 And it shall be that every soul that does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people.'	23 Chè (sappiate per certo che) ogni anima, che non li darà audienza, sarà esterminata dal popolo suo.
24 And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came afterwards, also proclaimed these days.	24 E così tutti gli altri profeti (massimamente) da Samuel in qua profetarono di questi tempi.
25 You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God gave to your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And in your posterity shall all the families of the earth be blessed.'	25 (Adunque a queste cose dovete dare fede, perciò che) siete figliuoli delli profeti, e del testamento il quale Dio dispose (e promise) agli padri nostri, dicendo ad Abraam: nel tuo seme saranno benedette tutte le generazioni della terra.
26 God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you in turning every one of you from your wickedness."	26 Onde a voi (e per voi) principalmente Dio suscitò e mandò il Figliuolo suo, il quale vi ammonisse che vi convertiate, ciascuno di voi dalla iniquità sua.
