1 After this Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberi-as; and he revealed himself in this way.	1 Darauf zeigte sich Jesus abermals den Jüngern am See von Tiberias; er zeigte sich in folgender Weise:
2 Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathana-el of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.	2 Simon Petrus und Thomas, genannt Didymus, und Nathanael von Kana in Galiläa und die Söhne des Zebedäus und zwei andere von seinen Jüngern waren beisammen.
3 Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We will go with you." They went out and got into the boat; but that night they caught nothing.	3 Simon Petrus sagte zu ihnen: "Ich gehe fischen." Sie sagten zu ihm: "Auch wir gehen mit dir." Sie gingen also hinaus und stiegen in das Schiff; doch in dieser Nacht fingen sie nichts.
4 Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the beach; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.	4 Als es schon Morgen wurde, stand Jesus am Ufer; die Jünger erkannten jedoch nicht, daß es Jesus war.
5 Jesus said to them, "Children, have you any fish?" They answered him, "No."	5 Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Kinder, habt ihr nichts zu essen?" Sie antworteten ihm: "Nein."
6 He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, for the quantity of fish.	6 Er sprach zu ihnen: "Werft das Netz auf der rechten Seite des Schiffes aus, und ihr werdet finden." Sie warfen es aus und vermochten es nicht mehr einzuziehen wegen der Menge der Fische.
7 That disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his clothes, for he was stripped for work, and sprang into the sea.	7 Da sagte jener Jünger, den Jesus liebte, zu Petrus: "Es ist der Herr!" Als Simon Petrus hörte, daß es der Herr sei, legte er sich das Überhemd um - er war nämlich ohne Kleid - und warf sich in den See.
8 But the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards off.	8 Die anderen Jünger kamen im Schiff; denn sie waren nicht weiter als etwa dreihundert Ellen vom Lande weg und schleppten das Netz mit den Fischen nach.
9 When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire there, with fish lying on it, and bread.	9 Da sie nun ans Land stiegen, sahen sie ein Kohlenfeuer angelegt und einen Fisch darauf liegen und Brot.
10 Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish that you have just caught."	10 Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Bringt von den Fischen, die ihr eben gefangen habt!"
11 So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three of them; and although there were so many, the net was not torn.	11 Simon Petrus stieg hinein und zog das Netz, das mit hundertdreiundfünfzig großen Fischen angefüllt war, ans Land; und obwohl es so viele waren, zerriß das Netz nicht.
12 Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." Now none of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Lord.	12 Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Kommt und haltet Mahlzeit!" Keiner von den Jüngern wagte ihn zu fragen: "Wer bist du?" Wußten sie doch, daß es der Herr war.
13 Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish.	13 Da ging Jesus hinzu, nahm das Brot und gab es ihnen und ebenso auch den Fisch.
14 This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.	14 Dies war schon das dritte Mal, daß sich Jesus seinen Jüngern zeigte, nachdem er von den Toten auferweckt war.
15 When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs."	15 Als sie nun gegessen hatten, sprach Jesus zu Simon Petrus: "Simon, Sohn des Johannes, liebst du mich mehr als diese?" Er antwortete ihm: "Ja, Herr, du weißt, daß ich dich liebe." Da sagte er zu ihm: "Weide meine Lämmer!"
16 A second time he said to him, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep."	16 Wiederum sprach er ein zweites Mal zu ihm: "Simon, Sohn des Johannes, liebst du mich?" Er sagte zu ihm: "Ja, Herr, du weißt, daß ich dich liebe." Er sprach zu ihm: "Weide meine Schafe!"
17 He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, "Do you love me?" And he said to him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep.	17 Zum dritten Mal fragte er ihn: "Simon, Sohn des Johannes, liebst du mich?" Da wurde Petrus traurig, weil er zum dritten Mal zu ihm sprach: "Liebst du mich?", und er sagte zu ihm: "Herr, alles weißt du; du weißt es, daß ich dich liebe." Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Weide meine Schafe!
18 Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you girded yourself and walked where you would; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish to go."	18 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage dir: Als du jünger warst, gürtetest du dich selbst und gingst, wohin du wolltest; bist du aber alt geworden, wirst du deine Hände ausstrecken, und ein anderer wird dich gürten und dich führen, wohin du nicht willst."
19 (This he said to show by what death he was to glorify God.) And after this he said to him, "Follow me."	19 Dies sagte er, um anzudeuten, durch welchen Tod er Gott verherrlichen werde. Und als er dies gesagt hatte, sprach er zu ihm: "Folge mir!"
20 Peter turned and saw following them the disciple whom Jesus loved, who had lain close to his breast at the supper and had said, "Lord, who is it that is going to betray you?"	20 Petrus aber wandte sich um und sah den Jünger, den Jesus liebte, nachkommen, den, der auch beim Mahl an seiner Brust gelegen und gesagt hatte: "Herr, wer ist es, der dich verraten wird?"
21 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord, what about this man?"	21 Als nun Petrus diesen sah, sagte er zu Jesus: "Herr, was ist mit diesem?"
22 Jesus said to him, "If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? Follow me!"	22 Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Wenn ich will, daß er bleibe, bis ich komme, was geht es dich an? Du folge mir!"
23 The saying spread abroad among the brethren that this disciple was not to die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he was not to die, but, "If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you?"	23 Da verbreitete sich unter den Brüdern das Wort, daß jener Jünger nicht sterbe. Jesus aber hatte zu ihm nicht gesagt, daß er nicht sterbe, sondern: "Wenn ich will, daß er bleibe, bis ich komme, was geht es dich an?"
24 This is the disciple who is bearing witness to these things, and who has written these things; and we know that his testimony is true.	24 Das ist der Jünger, der davon Zeugnis gibt und der dies geschrieben hat, und wir wissen, sein Zeugnis ist wahr.
25 But there are also many other things which Jesus did; were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.	25 Es gibt noch vieles andere, was Jesus tat; wollte man dieses einzeln niederschreiben, so, glaube ich, würde selbst die Welt die Bücher nicht fassen, die zu schreiben wären.
