Deuteronomy 31

1 So Moses continued to speak these words to all Israel.	1 Andò dunqne Moisè, e disse (e favellò) tutte queste cose a tutto il popolo d'Israel.
2 And he said to them, "I am a hundred and twenty years old this day; I am no longer able to go out and come in. The LORD has said to me, 'You shall not go over this Jordan.'	2 E disse loro: io sono di CXX anni oggi, e non posso più nè andare nè venire, e specialmente conciosia cosa che Iddio mi dicesse: questo (fiume) Giordano tu non passerai.
3 The LORD your God himself will go over before you; he will destroy these nations before you, so that you shall dispossess them; and Joshua will go over at your head, as the LORD has spoken.	3 Iddio tuo Signore anderà dinanzi a te; ed egli (ucciderà e) ispegnerà tutte queste cose e tutte quelle) genti (e nazioni) dinanzi dalla faccia tua, e sì le soggiogherai; costui, cioè Iosuè, (anderà e) passerà inanzi, siccome Iddio (disse e parlò).
4 And the LORD will do to them as he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, when he destroyed them.	4 E farà Iddio a queste genti, siccome fece a Seon e ad Og re degli Amorei, e alla terra loro; e sì gli spegnerà (e ucciderà).
5 And the LORD will give them over to you, and you shall do to them according to all the commandment which I have commanded you.	5 E quando vi avrà dati (e messi) ancora costoro nelle vostre mani, farete loro il simigliante, siccome io v hoe comandato.
6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear or be in dread of them: for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you."	6 Portatevi (e fate) virilmente (e fortemente); e sì vi confortate, e non abbiate paura nè vi sbigot tite dinanzi a loro; imperciò che Iddio tuo Signore è tuo guidatore, e non ti lascerà nè non ti abban donerà.
7 Then Moses summoned Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, "Be strong and of good courage; for you shall go with this people into the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall put them in possession of it.	7 E chiamò a sè Moisè, Iosuè, e disse dinanzi a tutto Israel: confòrtati e sii robusto (e forte), imperciò che tu introducerai questo popolo nella terra, la quale Iddio giuroe (e promise) di dare a' padri loro; e tu la dividerai per sorte (e per parti).
8 It is the LORD who goes before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you or forsake you; do not fear or be dismayed."	8 E Iddio, il quale è vostro guidatore, sì sarà teco; egli non ti lascerà nè abbandonerà; e però non avere paura, e non temere di cosa niuna.
9 And Moses wrote this law, and gave it to the priests the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel.	9 E scrisse Moisè questa legge, e sì la diede ai preti figliuoli (della schiatta) di Levi, i quali porta vano l'arca del patto (e del ligamento) di Dio, con tutti i vecchi (e con tutti gli antichi figliuoli) d'Israel.
10 And Moses commanded them, "At the end of every seven years, at the set time of the year of release, at the feast of booths,	10 E sì comandò loro, e disse: dopo i setie anni, l'anno del perdono, della solennità de' tabernacoli,
11 when all Israel comes to appear before the LORD your God at the place which he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.	11 raunandosi tutti i figliuoli d'Israel insieme, acciò che compariscano (e vengano) dinanzi a Dio tuo Signore, in quello luogo che avrà eletto Iddio tuo Signore, leggerai le parole di questa legge dinanzi a tutto il popolo, udendo loro tutti,
12 Assemble the people, men, women, and little ones, and the sojourner within your towns, that they may hear and learn to fear the LORD your God, and be careful to do all the words of this law,	12 e raunato tutto il popolo in uno, così degli e nemuomini come delle femine, fanciulli e forestieri, o pquali sono dentro dalle porte tue; acciò che udendo loro apparino e temano Iddio vostro Signore, e adempiano e servano (e faccino) tutti li sermoni (e le parole) di questa legge;
13 and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as you live in the land which you are going over the Jordan to possess."	13 e i loro figliuoli, i quali non sanno ora queste cose, acciò che possano udire e temano Iddio loro Signore, tutti i dì che stanno in terra, alla quale voi, di là dal (fiume) Giordano, anderete (a vedere) a tenere (e abitare).
14 And the LORD said to Moses, "Behold, the days approach when you must die; call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tent of meeting, that I may commission him." And Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tent of meeting.	14 E disse Iddio a Moisè: ecco che sono presso i dì della morte tua; chiama Iosuè, e state insieme nel tabernacolo del testimonio, acciò ch' io gli comandi a lui. Andarono adunque Moisè e Iosuè, e istettero nel tabernacolo del testimonio.
15 And the LORD appeared in the tent in a pillar of cloud; and the pillar of cloud stood by the door of the tent.	15 E quivi appari loro Iddio in una colonna di nuvola, la quale colonna istette nell'entrata del tabernacolo.
16 And the LORD said to Moses, "Behold, you are about to sleep with your fathers; then this people will rise and play the harlot after the strange gods of the land, where they go to be among them, and they will forsake me and break my covenant which I have made with them.	16 E disse Iddio a Moisè: ecco che tu dormirai co' tuoi padri (cioè morrai in questa vita); e questo popolo levandosi commetterà fornicazione, andando dietro agli dii altrui, nella terra, alla quale egli va ed entra, e sì r'abiterà dentro; e quivi egli mi (lascerà e) abbandonerà, e guasterà il patto ch' io feci (e ordinai) con loro.
17 Then my anger will be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them and hide my face from them, and they will be devoured; and many evils and troubles will come upon them, so that they will say in that day, 'Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?'	17 E in quello die il mio furore sì s'adirerà contro a loro; e sì li abbandonerò e nasconderò la mia faccia da loro; e sarà in divoramento (e consumazione), e verranno tutti li mali e tutte le afflizioni, intanto che dica in quel dì: veramente (veggo e conosco che) Iddio non è meco, e perciò m' hanno trovato (e preso) tanti mali.
18 And I will surely hide my face in that day on account of all the evil which they have done, because they have turned to other gods.	18 E io nasconderò e celaroe la faccia mia in quel dì, per tutti i mali ch' ha fatto (e fece), e però che (ha seguitato) è ito dietro agli dii altrui.
19 Now therefore write this song, and teach it to the people of Israel; put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the people of Israel.	19 E ora (fate che) vi scrivete questo canto, e insegnatelo alli figliuoli d'Israel, acciò che il tengano nella memoria, e cantinlo colla bocca, e siami questo canto per testimonio tra (me e) i figliuoli d'Israel.
20 For when I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I swore to give to their fathers, and they have eaten and are full and grown fat, they will turn to other gods and serve them, and despise me and break my covenant.	20 Imperciò ch' io gli menerò nella terra la quale io giurai (e promisi) a' loro padri, la quale mena latte e miele; e poi che avranno mangiato, e saranno saturati ed ingrassati, sì si convertiranno agli dii altrui, e serviranno loro; e mi detrarranno, e si partiranno del mio patto.
21 And when many evils and troubles have come upon them, this song shall confront them as a witness (for it will live unforgotten in the mouths of their descendants); for I know the purposes which they are already forming, before I have brought them into the land that I swore to give."	21 Ma poi che saranno venuti loro molti mali e afflizioni, risponderà loro questo canto per testimonio, il quale niuna cosa il farà loro dimenticare, e della bocca de’ loro figliuoli; però ch' io so tutti i loro pensieri, i quall debbono fare oggi, inanzi ch' io gli metta nella terra la quale io ho promesso loro.
22 So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the people of Israel.	22 E Moisè scrisse il canto, e sì lo insegnò ai figliuoli d'Israel.
23 And the LORD commissioned Joshua the son of Nun and said, "Be strong and of good courage; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to give them: I will be with you."	23 E comandd Iddio a (Moisè e) Iosuè figliuolo di Nun, e disse: confòrtati e sii robusto (e forte), imperciò che tu menerai i figliuoli d'Israel nella terra la quale io ho promessa loro; e sarò teco.
24 When Moses had finished writing the words of this law in a book, to the very end,	24 E poi che Moisè scrisse tutte queste parole di questo volume della legge, egli sì le compiette.
25 Moses commanded the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD,	25 E sì comandò ai Leviti (cioè a preti), i quali portavano l'arca del patto (e del legamento) tra loro e Dio; se disse:
26 "Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against you.	26 Togliete questo libro, e ponetelo dall'uno lato dell' arca del patto di Dio vostro Signore, acciò che sia quivi per testimonio contro a te.
27 For I know how rebellious and stubborn you are; behold, while I am yet alive with you, today you have been rebellious against the LORD; how much more after my death!	27 Imperciò ch' io so la via tua, e conosco il tuo capo durissimo; imperciò che vivendo me, e vegnendo con voi, sempremai faceste contenzione contro a Dio: quanto maggiormente farete, quando sarò morto?
28 Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears and call heaven and earth to witness against them.	28 Raunate (e fate venire e chiamate) tutti i maggiori di nazione per le schiatte vostre, e tutti i dottori (della gesia e li maestri), e io parlerò loro, i quali mi udiranno, questi sermoni (e queste parole); e si chiamerò contro a loro il cielo e la terra.
29 For I know that after my death you will surely act corruptly, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and in the days to come evil will befall you, because you will do what is evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking him to anger through the work of your hands."	29 Io ho conosciuto (e veduto), che poi dopo la mia morte voi farete iniquamente, e tosto vi partirete della via la quale io v'ho comandata; e nella fine del tempo (il quale dee venire) verranno adosso (e incontro) a voi molti mali, quando avrete fatto male dinanzi a Dio, e lui averete concitato per le operazioni (ree) delle vostre mani.
30 Then Moses spoke the words of this song until they were finished, in the ears of all the assembly of Israel."	30 E favelló (e disse) Moisè, udendo tutta la uni versa congregazione del popolo d'Israel, le parole di questo canto, e sì le (compiette e) trasse a fine.
