Deuteronomy 14

1 "You are the sons of the LORD your God; you shall not cut yourselves or make any baldness on your foreheads for the dead.	1 Figliuoli miei, siate tutti di Dio vostro Signore; non vi raderete i capegli (nè barba raderete) nè farete la fronte calva (tirandovi i capegli), quando piagnerete sopra alcuno morto.
2 For you are a people holy to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, out of all the peoples that are on the face of the earth.	2 Imperciò che (tutti siete santi, e) siete popolo santo di Dio vostro Signore; ed egli elesse te, acciò che tu sie popolo speciale e singolare, di tutte quante le genti che sono sopra la terra.
3 "You shall not eat any abominable thing.	3 E non manicate quelle cose che sono immonde.
4 These are the animals you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat,	4 Questo è quello animale, il quale dovete ma nicare, cioè il bue, la pecora, la capra,
5 the hart, the gazelle, the roebuck, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope, and the mountain-sheep.	5 e il bufalo, il cerbio e il capriolo, capre sel vatiche (fatte come cervi, fuori che hanno le corna corte e larghe, a modo di bufalo e di becco) e uno altro animale che si chiama in ebraico PIGARGON (il quale si è fatto come uccello, ma istà cogli animali e colle bestie) e un altro animale che si chiama ORIGEN (cioè tasso) e un altro animale che si chiama CAMELOPARDO (lo qual è maculato come leopardo, i piedi simili al bufalo, e il collo simile al cavallo, e il capo simile al cammello).
6 Every animal that parts the hoof and has the hoof cloven in two, and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat.	6 Tutti gli animali che rùmigano, e hanno l'unghie fesse, non mangerete.
7 Yet of those that chew the cud or have the hoof cloven you shall not eat these: the camel, the hare, and the rock badger, because they chew the cud but do not part the hoof, are unclean for you.	7 Ma di quelli, che rùminano e non hanno l'unghie fesse, non mangerete, cioè la lepore e'l cammello e il cirogrillo (il quale è uno animal spinoso simile al rizzo), i quali animali rùminano e non hanno l'unghie divise; perciò che tutti sono immondi.
8 And the swine, because it parts the hoof but does not chew the cud, is unclean for you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch.	8 Il porco (selvatico e il domestico, qualunque si sia non mangerete) i quali non rùminano e hanno divise l'unghie, immondi saranno; non mangerete delle loro carni, nè non gli toccherete quando saranno morti.
9 "Of all that are in the waters you may eat these: whatever has fins and scales you may eat.	9 Di tutte le cose che istanno nell'acqua,di tutti questi pesci mangerete, i quali hanno ali da lato e scaglie.
10 And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.	10 (Fuori di questi), tutti che non hanno ali ed iscaglie non mangerete; imperciò che sono immondi.
11 "You may eat all clean birds.	11 Tutti quanti gli uccelli mondi mangerete.
12 But these are the ones which you shall not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the osprey,	12 Degl' immondi non mangerete; e questi sono immondi: l'aquila, lo uccello grifone e lo smerlo,
13 the buzzard, the kite, after their kinds;	13 e un altro uccello il quale si chiama ISSIONE (simile allo avoltoio) e l'avoltoio e il nibbio;
14 every raven after its kind;	14 e di tutta quella generazione di corvo (come sono la cornacchia, la mulacchia, la gazza, la ghian daia e di tutte cose somiglianti);
15 the ostrich, the nighthawk, the sea gull, the hawk, after their kinds;	15 e lo struzzo, la nottola e uno uccello che si chiama LARO (il quale sta nell'acqua) ed il smer gone e lo sparviere, e d'ogni sua generazione (siccome sono questi, cioè il falcone, astore, terzuolo e moscardo e di quelli somigliante),
16 the little owl and the great owl, the water hen	16 il cigno,
17 and the pelican, the carrion vulture and the cormorant,	17 .
18 the stork, the heron, after their kinds; the hoopoe and the bat.	18 l'onocrotalo, e uno altro uccello (il quale si è tutto bianco) il quale si chiama CARADRIO (e il pellicano; di tutti questi secondo loro generazione non mangerete) e ancora la upupa (la quale è uno uccello di diversi colori) e il barbastrello.
19 And all winged insects are unclean for you; they shall not be eaten.	19 E ogni animale che va con lo corpo suo traendosi sopra la terra (o somigliante che vada per terra) o abbia penne o no, tutti saranno immondi, e non si mangino.
20 All clean winged things you may eat.	20 Tutti gli animali che saranno mondi, se ne mangi.
21 "You shall not eat anything that dies of itself; you may give it to the alien who is within your towns, that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner; for you are a people holy to the LORD your God. "You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.	21 E non si mangi di tutti gli animali che sono morti di loro morte (o per infermità); ma dànne mangiare al peregrino, il quale abita dentro alle porte della cittade, o tu gli vendi; imperciò che tu sei popolo santo di Dio tuo Signore. Non cuocerai il capretto (per mangiare), quando egli poppa della madre sua.
22 "You shall tithe all the yield of your seed, which comes forth from the field year by year.	22 La decima parte di tutta la biada che nasce nella terra tua, ogni anno porrai per sè.
23 And before the LORD your God, in the place which he will choose, to make his name dwell there, you shall eat the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herd and flock; that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.	23 E sì la mangerai in presenza di Dio tuo Signore, in quello luogo il quale egli eleggerà, acciò che quivi si chiami il suo nome; la decima parte del grano tuo e del vino e dell' olio, e di tutti quelli animali che nascono) i primogeniti degli armenti e delle pecore tue (tutte queste cose porrai per sè); acciò che appari di (temere e d') avere paura, d'ogni tempo, di Dio Signore tuo.
24 And if the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to bring the tithe, when the LORD your God blesses you, because the place is too far from you, which the LORD your God chooses, to set his name there,	24 Ma se la via vi sarà molto lunga dal luogo che eleggerà Iddio tuo Signore, e avratti benedetto, e tu non potrai tutte queste cose (cioè decime e primizie) portare,
25 then you shall turn it into money, and bind up the money in your hand, and go to the place which the LORD your God chooses,	25 fa che tu venda ogni cosa, e fanne denari, e portera'gli colla tua mano, e anderai al luogo il quale eleggerà Iddio tuo Signore.
26 and spend the money for whatever you desire, oxen, or sheep, or wine or strong drink, whatever your appetite craves; and you shall eat there before the LORD your God and rejoice, you and your household.	26 E di quella pecunia (e denari) compera ciò che ti piacerà, ovvero d'armenti, ovvero di pecore, vino e cervogia (che si fa di grano e d'orzo e d'altre cose) od altro; ciò che desidera l'anima tua (comperrai, e) mangerai (innanzi) alla presenza di Dio tuo Signore; e di questo mangerai tu, e tutta la tua casa (e quelli della tua schiatta),
27 And you shall not forsake the Levite who is within your towns, for he has no portion or inheritance with you.	27 e il Levita il quale istà (ed è) dentro dalle porte della tua cittade; guarda che tu non l'abban doni, imperciochè niuna altra parte ha nella tua possessione.
28 "At the end of every three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your produce in the same year, and lay it up within your towns;	28 E poi nel terzo anno porrai per sè l'altre decime di tutte quante le cose che ti nascono in quello tempo; e sì le riporrai dentro dalle porte tue.
29 and the Levite, because he has no portion or inheritance with you, and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your towns, shall come and eat and be filled; that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.	29 E poi verrà colui che sarà della schiatta di Levi (cioè il prete), il quale non ha altra parte nè possessione (siccome hai tu), e il peregrino e il pupillo e la vedova, i quali istanno (e abitano) dentro dalle porte della tua cittade; e sì mangeranno e sa zierannosi (alle tue ispese), acciò che Iddio tuo Signore ti benedica (e diati la benedizione) in tutte quante l'opere delle tue mani, le quali tu farai (in vita tua o di tua generazione).
