And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him.1 Une fois terminé le sabbat, Marie de Magdala, Marie, mère de Jacques, et Salomé achetèrent des parfums afin d’embaumer le corps.
And very early on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun had risen.2 De grand matin, le premier jour de la semaine, elles vinrent au tombeau au lever du soleil.
And they were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the door of the tomb?"3 Elles s’étaient bien posé la question: "Qui nous roulera la pierre de devant le tombeau?”
And looking up, they saw that the stone was rolled back; --it was very large.4 Mais au premier regard, elles virent que la pierre avait été roulée de côté, et il s’agissait d’une pierre énorme.
And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe; and they were amazed.5 Elles entrent alors dans le tombeau et elles voient un jeune homme assis à droite, vêtu d’une tunique blanche. Elles sont saisies de frayeur,
And he said to them, "Do not be amazed; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen, he is not here; see the place where they laid him.6 mais il leur dit: "Ne vous effrayez pas! Vous cherchez Jésus le Nazaréen, celui qu’on a crucifié? C’est bien ici qu’on l’avait mis, mais il est ressuscité, il n’est pas ici.
But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him, as he told you."7 “Allez dire à ses disciples, et à Pierre, qu’il vous précède en Galilée; là vous le verrez comme il vous l’a dit.”
And they went out and fled from the tomb; for trembling and astonishment had come upon them; and they said nothing to any one, for they were afraid.8 Aussitôt elles sortent du tombeau et prennent la fuite, saisies de frayeur et d’étonnement. Leur peur est telle qu’elles ne disent rien à personne.
Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons.9 Ressuscité au matin du premier jour de la semaine, Jésus apparut tout d’abord à Marie de Magdala dont il avait chassé sept démons.
She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept.10 Elle alla le dire aux compagnons de Jésus qui étaient tristes et qui pleuraient.
But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it.11 Quand ils entendirent qu’il était vivant, qu’elle l’avait vu, ils ne la crurent pas.
After this he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country.12 Après cela Jésus se manifesta sous une autre forme à deux d’entre eux qui s’en allaient à la campagne.
And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.13 Eux aussi allèrent le dire aux autres, mais ils ne les crurent pas davantage.
Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they sat at table; and he upbraided them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen.14 Finalement, Jésus se manifesta aux Onze alors qu’ils étaient à table. Il leur reprocha de manquer de foi, d’être si peu ouverts, et de n’avoir pas cru ceux qui l’avaient vu ressuscité.
And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation.15 Puis il leur dit: "Allez dans le monde entier, portez la Bonne Nouvelle à toute la création.
He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.16 Celui qui croira et sera baptisé sera sauvé; celui qui ne croira pas sera condamné.
And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;17 “Voici les signes qui accompagneront ceux qui auront cru: par mon Nom ils chasseront les démons et parleront des langues nouvelles.
they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."18 Ils saisiront les serpents, et s’ils boivent un poison mortel, il ne leur fera aucun mal; ils imposeront les mains aux malades et ils seront guéris.”
So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.19 Après leur avoir parlé, le Seigneur Jésus fut enlevé au ciel et il s’assit à la droite de Dieu.
And they went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that attended it. Amen.20 Quant à eux, ils partirent prêcher en tout lieu; le Seigneur était à l’œuvre avec eux et confirmait leurs paroles par les signes qui l’accompagnaient.
