Hosea 14

1 Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity.	1 A Samaria será castigada, porque se revoltou contra o seu Deus. (Os sem habitantes) cairão ao fio da espada, serão esmagados os seus meninos, e abertos os ventres das mulheres grávidas.
2 Take with you words and return to the LORD; say to him, "Take away all iniquity; accept that which is good and we will render the fruit of our lips.	2 Converte-te, ó Israel, ao Senhor teu Deus, porque pela iniquidade é que caiste.
3 Assyria shall not save us, we will not ride upon horses; and we will say no more, 'Our God,' to the work of our hands. In thee the orphan finds mercy."	3 Tomai convosco palavras (de arrependimento), convertei-vos ao Senhor, dizei-lhe; Tira-nos todas as nossas iniquidades, aceita este bem (ou bom desejo que temos); queremos oferecer-te, como sacrifício, os louvores dos nossos lábios.
4 I will heal their faithlessness; I will love them freely, for my anger has turned from them.	4 Assur não nos salvará (mas sim tu Senhor); não montaremos (arrogantes) em cavalos e nunca mais chamaremos Deus à obra das nossas mãos. (Fazemos esta súplica) porque em ti o órfão encontra compaixão,
5 I will be as the dew to Israel; he shall blossom as the lily, he shall strike root as the poplar;	5 Curarei a sua infidelidade (responde o Senhor), amá-los-ei espontâneamente, porque já o meu furor se afastou deles.
6 his shoots shall spread out; his beauty shall be like the olive, and his fragrance like Lebanon.	6 Serei como o orvalho para Israel; crescerá como um lírio, e deitará raízes como o Líbano.
7 They shall return and dwell beneath my shadow, they shall flourish as a garden; they shall blossom as the vine, their fragrance shall be like the wine of Lebanon.	7 Estender-se-ão os seus ramos, a sua glória será como a da oliveira, o seu perfume como o do Líbano.
8 O Ephraim, what have I to do with idols? It is I who answer and look after you. I am like an evergreen cypress, from me comes your fruit.	8 Virão repousar debaixo da sua sombra; viverão de trigo e propagar-se-ão como a vinha; a sua nomeada será como a do vinho do Líbano.
9 Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the LORD are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them.	9 (Depois disto) que terá Efraim de comum com os ídolos? Fui eu que o afligi e que o tornei feliz ; sou como um cipreste sempre verdejante; em mim terão origem os teus frutos (ó Israel).
	10 Quem é o sábio que compreenderá estas coisas (que escrevi)? Quem tem inteligência para as conhecer? Porque os caminhos do Senhor são rectos; por eles andarão os justos, mas neles cairão os prevaricadores.
