Hosea 12

1 Ephraim herds the wind, and pursues the east wind all day long; they multiply falsehood and violence; they make a bargain with Assyria, and oil is carried to Egypt.	1 Efraím me ha rodeado de mentira y la casa de Israel, de falsedad. –Pero Judá está todavía cerca de Dios y se mantiene fiel al muy Santo–.
2 The LORD has an indictment against Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways, and requite him according to his deeds.	2 Efraím se apacienta de viento y corre todo el día tras el viento del este; multiplica el fraude y la devastación; hacen una alianza con Asiria y llevan aceite a Egipto.
3 In the womb he took his brother by the heel, and in his manhood he strove with God.	3 El Señor tiene un pleito con Israel, pedirá a Jacob de su conducta, le retribuirá según sus acciones.
4 He strove with the angel and prevailed, he wept and sought his favor. He met God at Bethel, and there God spoke with him --	4 En el seno materno suplantó a su hermano y cuando fue adulto luchó con Dios.
5 the LORD the God of hosts, the LORD is his name:	5 Luchó con el Angel y venció, lloró y le imploró. En Betel lo encontró, y allí Dios habló con él.
6 "So you, by the help of your God, return, hold fast to love and justice, and wait continually for your God."	6 –¡El Señor es el Dios de los ejércitos: «el Señor» es su nombre!–.
7 A trader, in whose hands are false balances, he loves to oppress.	7 Tú volverás con la ayuda de tu Dios: observa la fidelidad y la rectitud, y espera siempre en tu Dios.
8 Ephraim has said, "Ah, but I am rich, I have gained wealth for myself": but all his riches can never offset the guilt he has incurred.	8 Canaán tiene en su mano balanzas falsas, le gusta defraudar.
9 I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt; I will again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the appointed feast.	9 Efraím dijo: «Sí, yo me enriquecí, he amasado una fortuna; pero en todas mis ganancias, no encontrarán en mí ningún delito que sea pecado».
10 I spoke to the prophets; it was I who multiplied visions, and through the prophets gave parables.	10 Yo soy el Señor, tu Dios, desde el país de Egipto: te haré habitar de nuevo en carpas, como en los días del Encuentro.
11 If there is iniquity in Gilead they shall surely come to nought; if in Gilgal they sacrifice bulls, their altars also shall be like stone heaps on the furrows of the field.	11 Yo hablaré a los profetas y multiplicaré las visiones, y por medio de los profetas, hablaré en parábolas.
12 (Jacob fled to the land of Aram, there Israel did service for a wife, and for a wife he herded sheep.)	12 Galaad es pura falsedad, ellos se han convertido en nada; en Guilgal sacrifican toros: así sus altares serán como un montón de piedras sobre los surcos del campo.
13 By a prophet the LORD brought Israel up from Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.	13 Jacob huyó a los campos de Aram. Israel sirvió por una mujer y por una mujer, cuidó los rebaños.
14 Ephraim has given bitter provocation; so his LORD will leave his bloodguilt upon him, and will turn back upon him his reproaches.	14 Pero, por un profeta, el Señor hizo subir a Israel de Egipto, y por un profeta él fue protegido.
	15 Efraím apenó a Dios amargamente: su Señor arrojará sobre él la sangre vertida, y le devolverá sus agravios.
