Ezekiel 24

1 In the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me:	1 La neuvième année, au dixième mois, le dix du mois, la parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en cestermes:
2 "Son of man, write down the name of this day, this very day. The king of Babylon has laid siege to Jerusalem this very day.	2 Fils d'homme, mets par écrit la date d'aujourd'hui, d'aujourd'hui même, car le roi de Babylone s'estjeté sur Jérusalem aujourd'hui même.
3 And utter an allegory to the rebellious house and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Set on the pot, set it on, pour in water also;	3 Prononce donc une parabole pour l'engeance de rebelles. Tu leur diras: Ainsi parle le SeigneurYahvé. Mets au feu la marmite, mets-la, verses-y de l'eau.
4 put in it the pieces of flesh, all the good pieces, the thigh and the shoulder; fill it with choice bones.	4 Rassembles-y des morceaux, tout ce qu'il y a de bons morceaux, gigot, épaule; remplis-la desmeilleurs os,
5 Take the choicest one of the flock, pile the logs under it; boil its pieces, seethe also its bones in it.	5 prends le meilleur du troupeau. Puis entasse du bois dessous, fais bouillir à gros bouillons, quesoient cuits même les os qu'elle contient.
6 "Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose rust is in it, and whose rust has not gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece, without making any choice.	6 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Malheur à la ville sanguinaire, marmite toute rouillée, dont larouille ne peut être ôtée! Vide-la morceau par morceau, sans qu'on tire au sort.
7 For the blood she has shed is still in the midst of her; she put it on the bare rock, she did not pour it upon the ground to cover it with dust.	7 Car son sang est au milieu d'elle, elle l'a mis sur le roc nu, elle ne l'a pas répandu sur le sol pour lerecouvrir de poussière.
8 To rouse my wrath, to take vengeance, I have set on the bare rock the blood she has shed, that it may not be covered.	8 Pour faire monter la fureur, pour tirer vengeance, j'ai mis son sang sur le roc nu, sans le recouvrir.
9 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.	9 Eh bien! ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: Malheur à la ville sanguinaire! Moi aussi, je vais faire ungrand bûcher.
10 Heap on the logs, kindle the fire, boil well the flesh, and empty out the broth, and let the bones be burned up.	10 Amoncelle du bois, allume le feu, cuis la viande, prépare les épices, que les os brûlent.
11 Then set it empty upon the coals, that it may become hot, and its copper may burn, that its filthiness may be melted in it, its rust consumed.	11 Mets la marmite vide sur les charbons, afin qu'elle chauffe, que le bronze rougisse et que fondela souillure qui s'y trouve, que soit consumée sa rouille.
12 In vain I have wearied myself; its thick rust does not go out of it by fire.	12 Mais la masse de rouille ne s'en va pas au feu.
13 Its rust is your filthy lewdness. Because I would have cleansed you and you were not cleansed from your filthiness, you shall not be cleansed any more till I have satisfied my fury upon you.	13 Ta souillure est une infamie, car j'ai voulu te purifier, mais tu ne t'es pas laissé purifier de tasouillure. Tu ne seras donc plus purifiée jusqu'à ce que j'aie assouvi ma colère contre toi.
14 I the LORD have spoken; it shall come to pass, I will do it; I will not go back, I will not spare, I will not repent; according to your ways and your doings I will judge you, says the Lord GOD."	14 Moi, Yahvé, j'ai parlé et cela se réalise, j'agirai sans me reprendre, je n'aurai ni pitié nicompassion. C'est selon ta conduite et selon tes oeuvres qu'on te jugera, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
15 Also the word of the LORD came to me:	15 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:
16 "Son of man, behold, I am about to take the delight of your eyes away from you at a stroke; yet you shall not mourn or weep nor shall your tears run down.	16 Fils d'homme, voici que je vais t'enlever subitement la joie de tes yeux. Mais tu ne te lamenteraspas, tu ne pleureras pas, tu ne laisseras pas couler de larmes.
17 Sigh, but not aloud; make no mourning for the dead. Bind on your turban, and put your shoes on your feet; do not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of mourners."	17 Gémis en silence, ne prends pas le deuil des morts, noue ton turban sur ta tête, mets tes sandalesà tes pieds, ne te couvre pas la barbe, ne mange pas de pain ordinaire.
18 So I spoke to the people in the morning, and at evening my wife died. And on the next morning I did as I was commanded.	18 Je parlai au peuple le matin, et ma femme mourut le soir, et je fis le lendemain matin comme j'enavais reçu l'ordre.
19 And the people said to me, "Will you not tell us what these things mean for us, that you are acting thus?"	19 Alors le peuple me dit: "Ne nous expliqueras-tu pas quel sens a pour nous ce que tu fais?"
20 Then I said to them, "The word of the LORD came to me:	20 Je leur dis: "La parole de Yahvé m'a été adressée en ces termes:
21 'Say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the delight of your eyes, and the desire of your soul; and your sons and your daughters whom you left behind shall fall by the sword.	21 Dis à la maison d'Israël: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Voici que je vais profaner monsanctuaire, l'orgueil de votre force, la joie de vos yeux, la passion de vos âmes. Vos fils et vos filles, que vousavez abandonnés, tomberont par l'épée.
22 And you shall do as I have done; you shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of mourners.	22 Et vous ferez comme j'ai fait: vous ne vous couvrirez pas la barbe, vous ne mangerez pas de painordinaire,
23 Your turbans shall be on your heads and your shoes on your feet; you shall not mourn or weep, but you shall pine away in your iniquities and groan to one another.	23 vous garderez vos turbans sur la tête et vos sandales aux pieds, vous ne vous lamenterez pas etvous ne pleurerez pas. Vous dépérirez à cause de vos crimes et vous gémirez les uns avec les autres.
24 Thus shall Ezekiel be to you a sign; according to all that he has done you shall do. When this comes, then you will know that I am the Lord GOD.'	24 Ezéchiel sera pour vous un présage; vous ferez exactement ce qu'il a fait. Et, quand cela arrivera,vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur Yahvé.
25 "And you, son of man, on the day when I take from them their stronghold, their joy and glory, the delight of their eyes and their heart's desire, and also their sons and daughters,	25 Et toi, fils d'homme, n'est-il pas vrai que le jour où je leur aurai pris ce qui fait leur force, leurparure de liesse, la joie de leurs yeux, la passion de leur âme, leurs fils et leurs filles,
26 on that day a fugitive will come to you to report to you the news.	26 ce jour-là, arrivera vers toi le survivant qui apportera la nouvelle.
27 On that day your mouth will be opened to the fugitive, and you shall speak and be no longer dumb. So you will be a sign to them; and they will know that I am the LORD."	27 Ce jour-là, ta bouche s'ouvrira pour parler au survivant: tu parleras et tu ne seras plus muet; tuseras pour eux un présage et ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.
