Ezekiel 23

1 The word of the LORD came to me:	1 Me fue dirigida esta palabra del Señor:
2 "Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother;	2 «Había una vez dos mujeres, hijas de una misma madre.
3 they played the harlot in Egypt; they played the harlot in their youth; there their breasts were pressed and their virgin bosoms handled.	3 Se prostituyeron en Egipto cuando todavía eran muy jóvenes. Allí acariciaron sus pechos y palparon sus senos virginales.
4 Oholah was the name of the elder and Oholibah the name of her sister. They became mine, and they bore sons and daughters. As for their names, Oholah is Samaria, and Oholibah is Jerusalem.	4 La mayor se llamaba Oholá, y su hermana Oholibá. Tuve con ellas hijos e hijas. (Oholá es Samaría, y Oholibá Jerusalén).
5 "Oholah played the harlot while she was mine; and she doted on her lovers the Assyrians,	5 Oholá se prostituyó cuando aún estaba conmigo: se apasionó por sus amantes asirios, sus vecinos,
6 warriors clothed in purple, governors and commanders, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding on horses.	6 vestidos de púrpura, gobernadores y oficiales, jóvenes apuestos, hábiles jinetes.
7 She bestowed her harlotries upon them, the choicest men of Assyria all of them; and she defiled herself with all the idols of every one on whom she doted.	7 Concedió sus favores a la flor de los asirios, por los cuales se había apasionado, contaminándose con todos sus ídolos.
8 She did not give up her harlotry which she had practiced since her days in Egypt; for in her youth men had lain with her and handled her virgin bosom and poured out their lust upon her.	8 No renunció a su vida de prostitución, que había comenzado en Egipto cuando, siendo muy joven se acostaban con ella, y desahogando sobre ella su lujuria, avasallaron su virginidad.
9 Therefore I delivered her into the hands of her lovers, into the hands of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted.	9 Por eso la entregué en manos de sus amantes asirios, por quienes se había apasionado.
10 These uncovered her nakedness; they seized her sons and her daughters; and her they slew with the sword; and she became a byword among women, when judgment had been executed upon her.	10 Ellos la expusieron desnuda, le arrebataron sus hijos e hijas, y a ella la mataron a espada. Su nombre se hizo famoso entre las mujeres por la sentencia que le habían aplicado.
11 "Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet she was more corrupt than she in her doting and in her harlotry, which was worse than that of her sister.	11 Oholibá, su hermana, lo vio, pero su pasión fue aún más corrompida, y su vida de prostituta, peor que la de su hermana.
12 She doted upon the Assyrians, governors and commanders, warriors clothed in full armor, horsemen riding on horses, all of them desirable young men.	12 También se apasionó por los asirios, sus vecinos, gobernadores y oficiales, vestidos espléndidamente, hábiles jinetes, jóvenes apuestos todos ellos.
13 And I saw that she was defiled; they both took the same way.	13 Yo vi que también ella se había manchado. Las dos iban por el mismo camino,
14 But she carried her harlotry further; she saw men portrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans portrayed in vermilion,	14 pero esta fue más lejos en su prostitución. Había visto hombres dibujados sobre los muros, imágenes de los caldeos, grabados en rojo,
15 girded with belts on their loins, with flowing turbans on their heads, all of them looking like officers, a picture of Babylonians whose native land was Chaldea.	15 ceñido el torso con cinturones, amplios turbantes en la cabeza, todos con aspecto de capitanes: eran imágenes de babilonios, cuya tierra de origen es Caldea.
16 When she saw them she doted upon them, and sent messengers to them in Chaldea.	16 Se apasionó por ellos, apenas los vio, y les envió mensajeros a Caldea.
17 And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their lust; and after she was polluted by them, she turned from them in disgust.	17 Los babilonios acudieron a ella, al lecho de sus amores, y la mancharon con su fornicación. Una vez contaminada, se hastió de ellos.
18 When she carried on her harlotry so openly and flaunted her nakedness, I turned in disgust from her, as I had turned from her sister.	18 Así manifestó su vida de prostituta y expuso su desnudez. Yo me aparté de ella, como me había apartado de su hermana.
19 Yet she increased her harlotry, remembering the days of her youth, when she played the harlot in the land of Egypt	19 Ella se prostituyó cada vez más y, añorando los días en que se prostituía en Egipto,
20 and doted upon her paramours there, whose members were like those of asses, and whose issue was like that of horses.	20 se apasionó otra vez por estos disolutos, de complexión de asnos y miembros de caballo.
21 Thus you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when the Egyptians handled your bosom and pressed your young breasts."	21 Buscaste otra vez las obscenidades de tu juventud, cuando los egipcios avasallaron tu virginidad y palparon tus senos de doncella.
22 Therefore, O Oholibah, thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I will rouse against you your lovers from whom you turned in disgust, and I will bring them against you from every side:	22 Por eso, Oholibá, esto dice el Señor Dios: “Yo incitaré contra ti a tus amantes, de los cuales te habías hastiado, y los conduciré contra ti de todas partes,
23 the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod and Shoa and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them, desirable young men, governors and commanders all of them, officers and warriors, all of them riding on horses.	23 a los babilonios y a todos los caldeos, a los habitantes de Pecod y Soa y Coa, a todos los asirios, jóvenes apuestos, gobernadores y oficiales, aurigas y hábiles jinetes a caballo.
24 And they shall come against you from the north with chariots and wagons and a host of peoples; they shall set themselves against you on every side with buckler, shield, and helmet, and I will commit the judgment to them, and they shall judge you according to their judgments.	24 Del norte vienen contra ti, con carros y vehículos y con una multitud de naciones. De todas partes dispondrán contra ti sus paveses, adargas y yelmos. Yo expondré mi causa ante ellos, y ellos te juzgarán según sus leyes.
25 And I will direct my indignation against you, that they may deal with you in fury. They shall cut off your nose and your ears, and your survivors shall fall by the sword. They shall seize your sons and your daughters, and your survivors shall be devoured by fire.	25 Desencadenaré mi rabia contra ti y te tratarán con furor: te cortarán la nariz y las orejas, y tu posteridad perecerá a espada. Te arrebatarán hijos e hijas, y lo que quede de ti será pasto del fuego.
26 They shall also strip you of your clothes and take away your fine jewels.	26 Te despojarán de tus vestidos y te arrebatarán las joyas.
27 Thus I will put an end to your lewdness and your harlotry brought from the land of Egypt; so that you shall not lift up your eyes to the Egyptians or remember them any more.	27 Pondré fin a tu libertinaje y a tu prostitución, que comenzaste en Egipto. No volverás a poner tus ojos en ellos, ni te acordarás de Egipto nunca más”.
28 For thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will deliver you into the hands of those whom you hate, into the hands of those from whom you turned in disgust;	28 Sí, esto dice el Señor Dios: “Yo te pongo en mano de los que aborreces, de los cuales te habías hastiado.
29 and they shall deal with you in hatred, and take away all the fruit of your labor, and leave you naked and bare, and the nakedness of your harlotry shall be uncovered. Your lewdness and your harlotry	29 Ellos te tratarán con odio, te quitarán cuanto ganaste y te abandonarán desnuda y llena de ignominia. Al desnudo quedarán tus prostituciones. Tu libertinaje y tu vida de prostituta
30 have brought this upon you, because you played the harlot with the nations, and polluted yourself with their idols.	30 te han acarreado todo esto. Al prostituirte con las naciones te has contaminado con sus ídolos.
31 You have gone the way of your sister; therefore I will give her cup into your hand.	31 Caminaste por la senda de tu hermana, por eso pondré su copa en tus manos”.
32 Thus says the Lord GOD: "You shall drink your sister's cup which is deep and large; you shall be laughed at and held in derision, for it contains much;	32 Esto dice el Señor Dios: “Beberás la copa de tu hermana, profunda y ancha, de gran capacidad: serás objeto de burla e irrisión.
33 you will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow. A cup of horror and desolation, is the cup of your sister Samaria;	33 Te saciarás de embriaguez y de aflicción. Copa de horror y devastación es la copa de Samaría, tu hermana.
34 you shall drink it and drain it out, and pluck out your hair, and tear your breasts; for I have spoken, says the Lord GOD.	34 La beberás, la apurarás, morderás sus pedazos y te lacerarás los pechos, porque yo he hablado” —oráculo del Señor Dios—.
35 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have forgotten me and cast me behind your back, therefore bear the consequences of your lewdness and harlotry."	35 Por ello, así dice el Señor Dios: “Porque me has olvidado y me has vuelto la espalda, carga también tú con tu libertinaje y tu prostitución”».
36 The LORD said to me: "Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominable deeds.	36 El Señor me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, juzga a Oholá y Oholibá y échales en cara sus acciones detestables.
37 For they have committed adultery, and blood is upon their hands; with their idols they have committed adultery; and they have even offered up to them for food the sons whom they had borne to me.	37 Porque se han vuelto adúlteras y sus manos están llenas de sangre. Cometieron adulterio con sus ídolos y les han ofrecido como comida los hijos que me habían dado.
38 Moreover this they have done to me: they have defiled my sanctuary on the same day and profaned my sabbaths.	38 Han llegado a profanar mi santuario y violar mis sábados.
39 For when they had slaughtered their children in sacrifice to their idols, on the same day they came into my sanctuary to profane it. And lo, this is what they did in my house.	39 Después de haber inmolado a sus hijos ante sus ídolos, el mismo día entraban en mi santuario para profanarlo. Eso han hecho en mi templo.
40 They even sent for men to come from far, to whom a messenger was sent, and lo, they came. For them you bathed yourself, painted your eyes, and decked yourself with ornaments;	40 Hicieron venir hombres de lejos, les enviaban un mensajero y ellos acudían. Para ellos te bañabas, te pintabas los ojos y te engalanabas con joyas.
41 you sat upon a stately couch, with a table spread before it on which you had placed my incense and my oil.	41 Te reclinabas en un lecho suntuoso; delante de ti, una mesa aparejada, con mi incienso y mi perfume.
42 The sound of a carefree multitude was with her; and with men of the common sort drunkards were brought from the wilderness; and they put bracelets upon the hands of the women, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.	42 Se oía el rumor de una multitud en fiesta y, junto a ellos, hombres venidos del desierto que colocaban pulseras en sus manos y una magnífica corona en sus cabezas.
43 "Then I said, Do not men now commit adultery when they practice harlotry with her?	43 Yo dije de la ciudad consumida en adulterio: ¿Continuará todavía con sus prostituciones?
44 For they have gone in to her, as men go in to a harlot. Thus they went in to Oholah and to Oholibah to commit lewdness.	44 Como quien acude a una prostituta, así se acercaban a Oholá y Oholibá, mujeres depravadas.
45 But righteous men shall pass judgment on them with the sentence of adulteresses, and with the sentence of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is upon their hands."	45 Pero hombres justos las juzgarán como se juzga a las adúlteras y homicidas. Porque son adúlteras y sus manos están llenas de sangre.
46 For thus says the Lord GOD: "Bring up a host against them, and make them an object of terror and a spoil.	46 Esto dice el Señor Dios: “Convoca una asamblea contra ellas y entrégalas al terror y al pillaje.
47 And the host shall stone them and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses.	47 Que la asamblea las lapide y las descuarticen con espadas; que maten a sus hijos e hijas y que prendan fuego a sus casas.
48 Thus will I put an end to lewdness in the land, that all women may take warning and not commit lewdness as you have done.	48 Así pondré fin al libertinaje de esta tierra. Las mujeres escarmentarán y no imitarán vuestro libertinaje.
49 And your lewdness shall be requited upon you, and you shall bear the penalty for your sinful idolatry; and you shall know that I am the Lord GOD."	49 Os harán responsables de vuestro libertinaje, cargaréis con vuestros pecados de idolatría, y sabréis que yo soy el Señor Dios”».
