Jeremiah 34

1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army and all the kingdoms of the earth under his dominion and all the peoples were fighting against Jerusalem and all of its cities:	1 Lo detto che disse Iddio a Ieremia (profeta), quando Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, e tutto il suo oste, e tutti li reami della terra i quali erano sotto la siguoria delle sue mani, e tutti li (suoi) populi combattevano contro a Ierusalem e contro alle sue terre, e disse così:
2 "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah and say to him, 'Thus says the LORD: Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.	2 Questo dice lo Signore Iddio d'Israel: va e parla a Sedecia, re di Giuda, e dirai a lui: questo dice Iddio: ecco io darò questa città in mano del re di Babilonia, e accenderalla al fuoco.
3 You shall not escape from his hand, but shall surely be captured and delivered into his hand; you shall see the king of Babylon eye to eye and speak with him face to face; and you shall go to Babylon.'	3 E tu non fuggirai della sua mano; ma sarai preso, e sarai dato nella sua mano; e li tuoi occhi vederanno li occhi dello re di Babilonia
4 Yet hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah! Thus says the LORD concerning you: 'You shall not die by the sword.	4 Ma pure odi la parola di Dio, o Sedecia, re di Giuda questo dice Iddio a te: non morrai di coltello;
5 You shall die in peace. And as spices were burned for your fathers, the former kings who were before you, so men shall burn spices for you and lament for you, saying, "Alas, lord!"' For I have spoken the word, says the LORD."	5 ma morrai in pace, e secondo l' arsure dei tuoi padri re i quali furono innanzi te, così arderanno te; e piagneranno te, dicendo: ohimè, Signore; però ch' io hoe parlato la parola che dice Iddio.
6 Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words to Zedekiah king of Judah, in Jerusalem,	6 E parlò Ieremia [profeta] a Sedecia, re di Ginda, tutte queste parole in Ierusalem.
7 when the army of the king of Babylon was fighting against Jerusalem and against all the cities of Judah that were left, Lachish and Azekah; for these were the only fortified cities of Judah that remained.	7 E l'oste dello re di Babilonia combatteva contro a Ierusalem, e contro a tutte le città di Giuda, le quali aveano lasciate, contro a Lachis e contro (Ado e contro) ad Azeca; e queste erano rimase delle città di Giuda, cittadi armate.
8 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after King Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people in Jerusalem to make a proclamation of liberty to them,	8 Lo detto che disse Iddio a Ieremia, poi che lo re Sedecia percosse [il patto] con tutto lo populo in Ierusalem, predicante
9 that every one should set free his Hebrew slaves, male and female, so that no one should enslave a Jew, his brother.	9 che ogni uomo lasciasse lo suo servo, e ciascuno l' ancilla sua, ebreo ed ebrea, (e facesse) liberi; e non avessono signoria sopra loro, cioè nel giudeo e nel suo fratello.
10 And they obeyed, all the princes and all the people who had entered into the covenant that every one would set free his slave, male or female, so that they would not be enslaved again; they obeyed and set them free.	10 Tutti li principi e l' universo populo l' udirono (quelli), i quali feciono patto che ciascuno lasciasse lo servo suo, e ciascuno l' ancilla sua (serva) liberi, e non avessono più signoria sopra loro; e udirono, e lasciaronli.
11 But afterward they turned around and took back the male and female slaves they had set free, and brought them into subjection as slaves.	11 E rivolti sono di quindi innanzi, e ritrassono li servi e l' ancille, li quali aveano lasciati liberi, e soggiogaronli al servigio.
12 The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah from the LORD:	12 E disse Iddio a Ieremia:
13 "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: I made a covenant with your fathers when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage, saying,	13 Questo dice lo Signore [Iddio d' Israel]: feci patto colli vostri padri, nel dì ch' io li menai della terra di Egitto, della casa della servitù, e dissi :
14 'At the end of six years each of you must set free the fellow Hebrew who has been sold to you and has served you six years; you must set him free from your service.' But your fathers did not listen to me or incline their ears to me.	14 Quando saranno compiuti li sette anni, ciascuno lasci lo suo fratello ebreo, lo quale è venduto a lui e servirà a [te] sette anni; e lasciera'lo andare da te libero; e li vostri padri non mi udirono, e non inchinarono li loro orecchi a me.
15 You recently repented and did what was right in my eyes by proclaiming liberty, each to his neighbor, and you made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name;	15 E voi oggi siete convertiti, e facesti quello ch' è diritto nelli miei occhi, e (che) predicaste che ciascuno dèsse libertà al suo amico; e facesti lo patto nel mio conspetto, nella casa dove è invocato lo mio. nome sopra lei.
16 but then you turned around and profaned my name when each of you took back his male and female slaves, whom you had set free according to their desire, and you brought them into subjection to be your slaves.	16 E siete ritornati, e avete contaminato lo mio nome; e rimenaste ciascuno lo suo servo e la sua ancilla, i quali voi avevi lasciati liberi, e che fussono di loro (libertade e di loro) potestade; e rimenasteli, che vi fussono servi e ancille.
17 Therefore, thus says the LORD: You have not obeyed me by proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother and to his neighbor; behold, I proclaim to you liberty to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine, says the LORD. I will make you a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.	17 Però questo dice Iddio: voi non udiste me, acciò predicaste libertade ciascuno [al suo fratello, e ciascuno] al suo amico; ecco io vi predico [libertade], dice Iddio, e al coltello e a fame e a pestilenza, e darò voi in commozione a tutti li reami della terra.
18 And the men who transgressed my covenant and did not keep the terms of the covenant which they made before me, I will make like the calf which they cut in two and passed between its parts--	18 E darò li uomini, che prevàricano lo mio patto, e non osservano le parole del mio patto, delle quali furono consenzienti nel mio conspetto, lo vitello lo quale tagliarono in due parti, e passarono intra le sue divisioni;
19 the princes of Judah, the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, the priests, and all the people of the land who passed between the parts of the calf;	19 li principi di Ierusalem e di Giuda, e li castrati e li sacerdoti, e tutto lo populo della terra, i quali passarono [intra] le divisioni del vitello;
20 and I will give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their lives. Their dead bodies shall be food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth.	20 e darolli in mano de' loro nimici, e di quelli che domandano l' anime loro; e sarà la loro mortalità esca alli uccelli del cielo e alle bestie della terra.
21 And Zedekiah king of Judah, and his princes I will give into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their lives, into the hand of the army of the king of Babylon which has withdrawn from you.	21 E darò Sedecia, re (della terra) di Giuda e' suoi principi in mano de' suoi nimici, e in mano delli addomandanti l'anime loro, e in mano dello esèrcito dello re di Babilonia, i quali si partirono da voi.
22 Behold, I will command, says the LORD, and will bring them back to this city; and they will fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without inhabitant."	22 Ecco io comando, dice Iddio, e rimenerolli in questa cittade, e combatteranno incontro a lei, e piglierannola [e arderannola] al fuoco; e le cittadi di Giuda darò in solitudine, però che non vi sia abitatore.
