Jeremiah 32

1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.	1 Palabra que llegó a Jeremías de parte del Señor, el décimo año de Sedecías, rey de Judá, que era el año decimoctavo de Nabucodonosor.
2 At that time the army of the king of Babylon was besieging Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard which was in the palace of the king of Judah.	2 En ese entonces, el ejército del rey de Babilonia estaba asediando a Jerusalén, y el profeta Jeremías estaba preso en el patio de la guardia, en la casa del rey de Judá.
3 For Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him, saying, "Why do you prophesy and say, 'Thus says the LORD: Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;	3 Allí lo había puesto preso Sedecías, porque profetizaba en estos términos: «Así habla el Señor: Miren que yo voy a entregar esta ciudad en manos del rey de babilonia, y él la tomará;
4 Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him face to face and see him eye to eye;	4 Sedecías no escapará de las manos de los caldeos, sino que caerá en manos del rey de Babilonia; él le hablará cara a cara y lo verá con sus propios ojos;
5 and he shall take Zedekiah to Babylon, and there he shall remain until I visit him, says the LORD; though you fight against the Chaldeans, you shall not succeed'?"	5 Sedecías será llevado a Babilonia, y allí permanecerá hasta que yo me ocupe de él –oráculo del Señor–. Si ustedes combaten contra los caldeos, no conseguirán nada».
6 Jeremiah said, "The word of the LORD came to me:	6 Jeremías dijo: «La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
7 Behold, Hanamel the son of Shallum your uncle will come to you and say, 'Buy my field which is at Anathoth, for the right of redemption by purchase is yours.'	7 Janamel, hijo de tu tío Salúm, viene hacia ti para decirte: Compra mi campo que está en Anatot, porque a ti te corresponde adquirirlo, en virtud del derecho de rescate».
8 Then Hanamel my cousin came to me in the court of the guard, in accordance with the word of the LORD, and said to me, 'Buy my field which is at Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, for the right of possession and redemption is yours; buy it for yourself.' Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.	8 Janamel, el hijo de mi tío, vino a verme en el patio de la guardia, según la palabra del Señor, y me dijo: «Cómprame mi campo que está en Anatot, en el país de Benjamín, porque tú tienes el derecho de adquisición y de rescate: cómpramelo». Yo comprendí que esa era la palabra del Señor ;
9 "And I bought the field at Anathoth from Hanamel my cousin, and weighed out the money to him, seventeen shekels of silver.	9 compré a Janamel, el hijo de mi tío, el campo que está en Anatot, y le pesé la plata: diecisiete siclos de plata.
10 I signed the deed, sealed it, got witnesses, and weighed the money on scales.	10 Hice la escritura, la sellé, la certifiqué con testigos y pesé la plata en una balanza.
11 Then I took the sealed deed of purchase, containing the terms and conditions, and the open copy;	11 Luego tomé la escritura de la compra –la que había sido sellada, con las cláusulas y las estipulaciones, y la que había quedado abierta –
12 and I gave the deed of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah son of Mahseiah, in the presence of Hanamel my cousin, in the presence of the witnesses who signed the deed of purchase, and in the presence of all the Jews who were sitting in the court of the guard.	12 y la entregué a Baruc, hijo de Nerías, hijo de Maasías, en presencia de Janamel, el hijo de mi tío, en presencia de los testigos que habían firmado la escritura de la compra, y en presencia de todos los judíos que estaban en el patio de la guardia.
13 I charged Baruch in their presence, saying,	13 Luego, a la vista de ellos, di esta orden a Baruc:
14 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Take these deeds, both this sealed deed of purchase and this open deed, and put them in an earthenware vessel, that they may last for a long time.	14 «Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: Toma estas escrituras –la que está sellada y la que está abierta– y mételas en una vasija de arcilla, para que se conserven por mucho tiempo.
15 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards shall again be bought in this land.'	15 Porque así habla el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: De nuevo se comprarán casas, campos y viñas en este país».
16 "After I had given the deed of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed to the LORD, saying:	16 Después de entregar la escritura de la compra a Baruc, hijo de Nerías, yo dirigí al Señor esta súplica;
17 'Ah Lord GOD! It is thou who hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and by thy outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for thee,	17 «¡Ah, Señor! Tú has hecho el cielo y la tierra con tu gran fuera y tu brazo poderoso: para ti no hay nada imposible.
18 who showest steadfast love to thousands, but dost requite the guilt of fathers to their children after them, O great and mighty God whose name is the LORD of hosts,	18 Tú das prueba de fidelidad a millares, y retribuyes la iniquidad de los padres en el pecho de sus hijos después de ellos. ¡Dios grande y fuerte, cuyo nombre es Señor de los ejércitos,
19 great in counsel and mighty in deed; whose eyes are open to all the ways of men, rewarding every man according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings;	19 grande en consejo y poderoso en obras, que tienes los ojos abiertos sobre los caminos de los hombres, para dar a cada uno según su conducta y según el fruto de sus acciones!
20 who hast shown signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and to this day in Israel and among all mankind, and hast made thee a name, as at this day.	20 Tú has hecho signos y prodigios en el país de Egipto, y también en Israel y entre los hombres hasta el día de hoy, y así te has ganado un renombre, como se ve en el día de hoy.
21 Thou didst bring thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and outstretched arm, and with great terror;	21 Tú has hecho salir a tu pueblo Israel del país de Egipto, con signos y prodigios, con mano fuerte y brazo poderoso, provocando un gran terror.
22 and thou gavest them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;	22 Tú les has dado esta tierra, como se lo habías jurado a sus padres, una tierra que mana leche y miel.
23 and they entered and took possession of it. But they did not obey thy voice or walk in thy law; they did nothing of all thou didst command them to do. Therefore thou hast made all this evil come upon them.	23 Pero cuando entraron y tomaron posesión de ella, no escucharon tu voz ni caminaron según tu Ley: no hicieron nada de lo que tú les habías mandado, y tú les enviaste toda esta desgracia.
24 Behold, the siege mounds have come up to the city to take it, and because of sword and famine and pestilence the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What thou didst speak has come to pass, and behold, thou seest it.	24 Ahora, los terraplenes llegan hasta la ciudad para expugnarla, y la ciudad va ser entregada, por la espada, el hambre y la peste, en manos de los caldeos que combaten contra ella. Así se ha cumplido lo que tú habías dicho, y tú lo estás viendo.
25 Yet thou, O Lord GOD, hast said to me, "Buy the field for money and get witnesses"--though the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans.'"	25 Sin embargo, eres tú el que me ha dicho: «Compra el campo a precio de plata y toma unos testigos», mientras la ciudad es entregada en manos de los caldeos».
26 The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:	26 La palabra del Señor llegó a Jeremías en estos términos:
27 "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is anything too hard for me?	27 Yo, el Señor, soy el Dios de todo ser viviente: ¿hay algo imposible para mí?
28 Therefore, thus says the LORD: Behold, I am giving this city into the hands of the Chaldeans and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it.	28 Por eso, así habla el Señor: Yo voy a entregar esta ciudad en manos de los caldeos y en manos de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y él la tomará.
29 The Chaldeans who are fighting against this city shall come and set this city on fire, and burn it, with the houses on whose roofs incense has been offered to Baal and drink offerings have been poured out to other gods, to provoke me to anger.	29 Los caldeos que combaten contra esta ciudad entrarán en ella, le prenderán fuego y la quemarán, con las casas sobre cuyos techos se quemaba incienso a Baal y se derramaban libaciones a otros dioses, a fin de agraviarme.
30 For the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight from their youth; the sons of Israel have done nothing but provoke me to anger by the work of their hands, says the LORD.	30 Porque los hijos de Israel y los hijos de Judá han hecho desde su juventud lo que es malo a mis ojos; porque los hijos de Israel no han hecho más que agraviarme con la obra de sus manos –oráculo del Señor–.
31 This city has aroused my anger and wrath, from the day it was built to this day, so that I will remove it from my sight	31 Sí, esta ciudad ha sido para mí un motivo de ira y de furor, desde el día en que fue edificada hasta el día de hoy, y yo la apartaré lejos de mi rostro,
32 because of all the evil of the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah which they did to provoke me to anger--their kings and their princes, their priests and their prophets, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	32 a causa de todo el mal que los hijos de Israel y los hijos de Judá han cometido para agraviarme: ellos, sus reyes, sus príncipes, sus sacerdotes y sus profetas, los hombres de Judá y los habitantes de Jerusalén.
33 They have turned to me their back and not their face; and though I have taught them persistently they have not listened to receive instruction.	33 Ellos me han vuelto la espalda, no el rostro; y aunque traté de enseñarles incansablemente, no han escuchado ni aprendido la lección.
34 They set up their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.	34 Han puesto sus ídolos inmundos en la Casa que es llamada con mi Nombre, para volverla impura.
35 They built the high places of Baal in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to offer up their sons and daughters to Molech, though I did not command them, nor did it enter into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.	35 Han edificado los lugares altos de Baal que están en el valle de Ben Hinnóm, para hacer pasar por el fuego en honor de Moloc a sus hijos y a sus hijas, cosas que yo no les había mandado ni se me había pasado por la mente: ¡cometer esta abominación para hacer pecar a Judá!
36 "Now therefore thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city of which you say, 'It is given into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword, by famine, and by pestilence:	36 Y ahora, así habla el Señor, el Dios de Israel, a esta ciudad de la que ustedes dicen: «Va a caer en manos del rey de Babilonia, por la espada, el hambre y la peste».
37 Behold, I will gather them from all the countries to which I drove them in my anger and my wrath and in great indignation; I will bring them back to this place, and I will make them dwell in safety.	37 Yo los reuniré de todos los países adonde los había expulsado a causa de mi ira, de mi furor y de mi gran irritación; los haré volver a este lugar y haré que vivan seguros.
38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God.	38 Ellos serán mi Pueblo y yo seré su Dios.
39 I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for their own good and the good of their children after them.	39 Les daré un corazón íntegro y una conducta íntegra, a fin de que me teman constantemente, para su propia felicidad y la de sus hijos después de ellos.
40 I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them; and I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me.	40 Estableceré con ellos una alianza eterna, por la cual nunca dejaré de seguirlos para hacerles el bien, y pondré mi temor en sus corazones, para que nunca se aparten de mí.
41 I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.	41 Mi alegría será colmarlos de bienes, y los plantaré sólidamente en este país, con todo mi corazón y con toda mi alma.
42 "For thus says the LORD: Just as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so I will bring upon them all the good that I promise them.	42 Porque así habla el Señor: Así como atraje sobre este país toda esta gran desgracia, así también atraeré sobre ellos todo el bien que les prometo.
43 Fields shall be bought in this land of which you are saying, It is a desolation, without man or beast; it is given into the hands of the Chaldeans.	43 Entonces se comprarán campos en este país del que ustedes dicen: «Es un país desolado, sin hombres ni animales, que va a caer en manos de los caldeos».
44 Fields shall be bought for money, and deeds shall be signed and sealed and witnessed, in the land of Benjamin, in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, in the cities of the hill country, in the cities of the Shephelah, and in the cities of the Negeb; for I will restore their fortunes, says the LORD."	44 Se comprarán campos a precio de plata, se firmarán escrituras, se las sellará, se pondrán testigos en el país de Benjamín, en los alrededores de Jerusalén, en todas las ciudades de Judá, en las ciudades de la Montaña, en las ciudades de la Sefelá y en las ciudades del Négueb. Porque yo cambiaré su suerte –oráculo del Señor–.
